That finale was a bit dogshit. I hate how tv series nowadays cant write a simple straight forward story. Unlikeable character have to stay around in order to present the protagonist with obstacles he cant overcome because otherwise unlikable characters as artifical obstacles would no longer exist. and modern writers cant write anything else.

on the one hand tom hardy exiting the show because his body is too fucked up to do action sequences is fair
but this feels like an asspull if the next season starts with him being buried or spending the first 6 episodes in a hospital

No, the initial main mob boss had a sort of Bonnie and Clyde relationship with his wife when they were younger except now they're in their 60s and he still takes her counsel (even though she's totally lost it). Really the only "woke" thing I think is in the show is one of the main characters hitmen which is sort of a mary sue negress, but she's only got like 20 minutes of screentime total.
