Name a better action TV series.

I'm a fan but I'm not sure if I would call it the best
dammit, I can't
Knight Rider, MacGuyver
it's a 'there's a mole inside the CTU' episode
none of the villains in S1 even tried to rape this
I can only suspend my disbelief so far
t. Retard who didn't watch the show
It's a major plot point dude.
They went to once then her mom convinced them to take her instead
Again, unbelievable.
Nice try but I’d remember an attempted rape scene involving this chick

Season 4 or 5 for goat? I'm honestly torn and can't decide. 4 ends perfectly but 5 is so fucking intense and ends on a cliff.
In season one there is almost an entire episode devoted to it.
I'm being trolled obviously.
Only Day 1 was good. The others had some good parts but were fundamentally weaker and by Day 8/LAD the show turns into a self-parody. Even the cinematographer and lighting get so much lazier.
came to say this
Yeah, the hideous slut mum got raped instead and somehow got magically pregnant in the next episode iirc
Name a better action TV series.
In season 2 a bear even tried to rape her.
It became parody in Season 6. Valencia gets nuked and no one cares. Then Jack kills the Muslim terrorist leader with a chain. But it turns out Jack's dad was behind the whole thing. Just astounding trash television.
4/5 is the peak yeah. Basically the entire series is 10/10 until David Palmer is killed, but S5 is kind of all about vengeance for that so still kino. It gets ridiculous after S5.
It was an especially jarring dip in quality because season 5 was goated.
The guy who played Haywire on Prison Break tried to, but the mother stepped in and let him fuck her instead.
Come on man, season 1 through 5 were all kino. They all had their crappy subplots like Teri's amnesia and Chase's baby, but overall it was some of the best television ever created. Peaked in season 5, which was pretty much flawless.
Seasons 7, 8, and Live Another Day are still good enough though. Even the worst 24 is still worth watching (Kiefer Sutherland seasons only, obviously).
Kiefer Sutherland seasons only
They did seasons without him?
wtf is that nose?
It's called "24 Legacy" so technically no. I never watched it though.
was she autistic?
24 ran for 204 episodes plus one movie, and about 90% of it was great. Even the "bad" season 6 had some kino in it. We simply didn't know how good we had it.
Nowadays it's "here's 8 episodes, half of it is filler and you'll get season 2 in 3 years if it doesn't get cancelled". We really really need to go back.
She had a kid with a gay guy, so who knows
I started watching it recently and its really cool. I dont think I have seen a better show at finishing every episode on a cliffhanger. I swear the show is designed to keep people up all night
Morris was just a bit zesty
here's 8 episodes, half of it is filler and you'll get season 2 in 3 years if it doesn't get cancelled
It honestly baffles me how they can create a season of 24 episodes where there's actual things happening and now we barely get 8-10 episodes of content where the first and last 2 have something going on, the rest you could just ignore.
Yeah that's what made me keep watching. I'd go through an episode thinking, okay this show is gonna start being filler now, something better happen or I'm gonna st-
HOLY FUCK! God damnit now I gotta watch the next one and it's already 3a.m.
Season 5 was peak, if only for based RoboCop being in it. Loads of the cast were in it at some point, Boddiker, Ray Wise, the dude that fell in the acid was Jacks brother
The only time I would say the show in general becomes filler is halfway through season 1 when the Gaines plot ends. Then you get like 5-6 episodes where not much happens until it picks up again. This also includes Teri's amnesia.
Other than that, the filler is only subplots part of otherwise exciting episodes, which makes it more tolerable. Only the Kim stuff in season 2 really bothers me on rewatches.
They were all in 24 at some point, many of them in season 5. Black guy only had a small role in season 1, I think.
Having 24 episodes was far more of a restriction than it was freedom for the writers. You couldn't slack off and lazily write a bottle episode or a filler episode. You couldn't simply focus on one set of people for the entire episode nor could you wildly go crazy and make some weird musical episode for fun. They were chained together so it had to be methodically planned out from beginning to end and the episode you wrote was designed to carry the season into the next episode and the next episode thereafter.
If there are "bad" episodes, it would have to do with the overall season's plan and less so of the particular episode in question.
Teri's amnesia.
Don't fucking remind me of that shit, I always skip it, it's during the same part with Kim and Rick being told they can't leave the house during the "drug bust" bit. Such a shit part.
Also, let's not forget that sniper character who kept harassing Jack over the radio, ultimately leading to the suspect they were tracking getting shot or something. I some times skip until Jack and Mason go investigating that bunker. That's when it picks up again.
Oh the one where they have "history"? Yeah that came out of nowhere and completely irrelevant to the plot.
Nice headcanon but they made the show up as they went along. They wrote in four-episode chunks and that's all.
Kiefer in an interview said S1 they only wrote and shot like 8 episodes for mid season to know whether they'd be kept on air and they had no clue what they were going to do or even if they could do it for 16 more eps. They really were terrified when they got cleared for another 8eps and those are the ones we're all mentioning here so it makes sense, but they pulled it out for the last 8. Took them a few years to perfect the pacing but they gradually kept getting better and by s4 every episode is peak tv until s6. 5 being a cut above s4 and might be my favorite season of TV of all time
I love how much more realistic the first half of season one is compared to the rest of the show.
Wtf, why didn't I realise this sooner. But yeah having Weller and even McCrane as his brother was kino.
Season 2 was peak, seasons after that were still generally good but the quality dropped a little bit with each new season.
This, but it was 13 episodes at first, which is when the Gaines plot ends. So they had to make stuff up when they got renewed for the full season. Kinda weird to greenlight a show called 24 with that premise only to order 13 episodes, but at least things worked out in the end.
DAMMIT CHLOE! Those jannies banned me right when I was going to post another Bella Ramsey meme. I NEED A NEW IP NOW!
It's a very down-to-earth assassination plot, but it came out right after 9/11 so the show pivoted into large-scale terrorist threats for every season thenceforth. I would say all of season 1 has a very different tone, not just the first half. The entire assassination plot being personal revenge for a black ops mission gone awry is kino.
Monkey Magic
Strike back
4 wasn’t good. 5 is the best
I never realized just how much of this show is characters talking to each other on the phone. Only noticed in rewatch years later. Like a solid third of the entire run time is just people on the phone lol
The seasons after Thorin fucked off to do the Hobbit and before James Gunns wife starts leading the girlboss special ops team were so fucking kino. Just two bros fucking shit up with a comically gratuitous sex scene in every fucking episode with hot eastern euro whores
I'm currently watching it for the first time. I'm at season 6 and while it's an obvious downgrade from the first 5 seasons, it's really quite incredbile how they managed to create 5 great seasons with such a restrictive concept. And it's not like season 6 is terrible either, just not as good as the previous ones.
My question is should I bother with the rest of the show (and the movie I guess) once I'm done with season 6?
Jack you've been range banned, I can't get you another ip for at least 10 min
Chloe I need you to listen to me, If I can't post in the next 2 min the thread will BE DEAD DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?
hold on I might be able to get a VPN and route you through a decommissioned satellite but I'll me a minute, I'll call you back
okay thanks Chloe
... minute later
Chloe it's jack you can post now but only if you type a greater than symbol before every line, otherwise you'll be found out
okay got it
Yes, it's still fun and you notice whatever issues piss people on this board off a lot less when you're just watching multiple episodes a day of a show compared to being 10+ years out from its ending with a rewatch behind you.
The show going ever more batshit insane after starting out as a realistic and plausible enough action series is the great thing about it though.
Wonder what this show would have been like if 9/11 didn't happen
