Previously on The Shield
Surprisingly timeless. No matter if the song has aged at all, this cold opener remains gold:

The strike team….and Ronnie
early 2000's were pure bliss. we have to go back.
Shield bros... we already defeated Wire plebs. Next step, taking Sopranos' crown.
yeah I'd even get into Nip/Tuck at this point
Sopranos is even worse than The Wire atleast The Wire doesn't focus on idiotic nonsense like a dumb college bitch getting fucked by a nigger jew and other nonsense. Shield is a 10/10.
I think most Shield bros prefer Sopranos over Wire.
Why on earth would they? First I'm hearing of this. The Wire/The Shield aired during the same time frame and were two sides of the same coin. They even had many, many recurring actors and similar themes.
is it still worth watching? only thing i watched back on fx then was nip/tuck
Trvke: Aceveda is a snake bitch who got raped in the mouth
10000% percent. Get to it immediately.
So what you're saying is he....sucks?
It's more relevant than ever. It also helped that showrunners didn't mention much stuff from the culture of the time during the dialogues. Sure the music and the camera work are very 2000s, but that gives an extra touch of nostalgia to the show.
Michael Chiklis is the best drama leading man ever put on TV. Superb. Him and Goggins together were dynamite.
He made you ... gluck-gluck?
And Vic Mackey has the best development of any TV series' anti-hero. Seriously bros, we have to get people into the GOAT.
Nip/Tuck season 2 and 3 are kino as fuck
It goes downhill after that, but it never drops off a cliff or anything
You do have to be in for the cheese from the start, though.
Yeah it's a funny show about men sucking on penises
Am I the only one who thinks this show has the best cinematography/set design of any show ever? Everything about it is rough and gritty and grimy and disgusting just like everything that happens on the show. Amazing how well it sets the mood
I like how he’s not really mustache-twirling villain evil until the very end, for most of the show he has a code and definite moral lines even though they’re placed differently than most people’s
IMDB fags can complain all they want about "muh aged editing", you got it right bro!
the most racist cop in LA
the teenager he's cheating on his wife with
Kek
The camerawork is 10/10. the way it makes everything look so cinematic, alive and compelling. like a documentary. then you see HBO "prestige" stuff shot like a fucking sitcom. The Shield looked like a movie.

he's not racist, he just hates that specific nigger with the faggot nigger son.
Damn those who say the soundtrack feels dated, are you seeing these bangers?

Breaking Bad and Mad Men came out later, they'd wish having at least one legendary song!
JUST ANOTHER DAY
PAPI VENGA ACÁ
I just remember the "Rosie O'Donnell" episodes being hyped a lot; commercial promos being "The Handsome Plastic Surgeon has to fuck this pig for reasons next episode..."
Love the Wire and Sopranos and just started watching season 1. Its not getting me so far. It just seems like edgelord basic cable 2000s shit with ball bust dialog like a judd apatow movie of the same era. Is season 1 just weak?
based on a bad cop who was actually latino
change the bad cop to a racist white guy
Woke bullshit and you retards didn't even realize it
Those are whatever, I think she ends up hearing based Christian call her a fat pig at some point or something
Mainly it's the Carver arc that really works. In however many seasons of that gay-ass American Horror Story and Scream Queens, Ryan Murphy has not done a better slasher storyline than season 3 of Nip/tuck
And it's properly set up in season 2
they made you... s-suck?
it's crazy how older shows can be even more relevant today, the nigs in the Shield, the PC/DEI crowd, the LA vibes (crackheads, etc.). Pretty much nothing has changed except for smartphones.
Try S2 at least, it has some of the show's highlights like the Armadillo arc. If you're still not feeling it, then might be not for you. But as someone who likes Sopranos hear my advice, this series works different in the sense it's a constant ride, more similar to Breaking Bad in that sense. Instead of a cage slowly opening like other kind of shows (Wire and Sopranos).
Anon, he's a different kind of cop...
If you like the Wire then the Shield isn't for you lmao
I'm annoyed I can't find the first seasons in 4:3 anymore, but yes it's kino
He was kino on Gotham as the interim commish turned into the villian the electricutioner. he knew the show was hammy as fuck and played it up.
Should I start my first replay today? What a great show. Goddamn ending
If you don't like it straight away it just isn't your thing imo
I've watched the entire show like 4 times.
The only other show I've come close was Southland I watched like twice.
I tried finding a similar show but failed, that new police show on Amazon Prime called On Call suckssss, the female lead is some mutt tight hottie but she fails as a lead, the supporting lead is a fag Latino younger guy.

Profit has a great antihero. canceled too soon
