Yeah, it has really distracting knowing Scorsese was sitting in the row behind. Such a noisey eater, and he'd bring along these girlfriends he was trying to score with, and I'dhave to listen to them telling him to 'cut it out'. And then he'd be kicking the chairs and knocking over people's popcorn trying to get out for a bathroom break. Just took me out of the movie. Very distracting man. Never mind the tremendous respect I have for him as a filmmaker.

i wonder if these financial tricks will ever be exposed. scorsese hasnt made anything good in 10 years. i would say 20 years but dont need to fight about it. why would you give someone like that $200M when you could fund 50 projects with up and comers and have a handful of hits by accident?
the only answer i can come up with is kickbacks. dinosaurs and legacies get paid ridiculous amounts because they agree to put 99% of it back into the system for other dinos and legacies to leech off of. dont play ball and they steal your work and blacklist you like roiland and so many others over the years.

I go to the cinema all the time, and regularly attend multiple cinemas in a 20 mile radius, from arthouse to Imax, from independent to multiplex chain. I've attended packed opening nights, and quiet matinées. I've been to Bollywood movies where I was the only white guy in the audience.

In my experience , it just isn't anywhere near as bad as internet shut-ins make it out to be. The worst example I can remember was 3 years ago, and that was no big deal, just 2 teenagers who were looking at their phones a bit too much. I can't imagine things are so much worse today than in the past. I remember seeing Disney's Mighty Joe Young movie when it came out and there were a lot of children being disruptive. That was many years ago, it was a kids movie, what you expect. I was talking to an older guy about a local cinema that closed decades ago, and he told me there would be mice running along the ledge in front of the projection booth, and you'd see their shadows on the big screen.
