Why is Wes Anderson so hated now
Why is Wes Anderson so hated now
All his live-action movies since Budapest are damn near indistinguishable from each other, right down to the irritating whimsical titles
this, and he always casts the same dozen actors so if you've seen one of his films you've pretty much seen them all
The bubble of snobby fags pretending his shit didn't stink popped.
It's just the same gimmick over and over again and it has been parodied so many times, people are just burned out.
I like this conspiracy. It's probably true. I wish some rich person would fund Don Hertzfeldt that way.
Exactly. He's literally just out of ideas. He should really force himself to depart from his usual style by doing something like shooting on handheld or working in a different genre, but at this point I think he's going the Adam Sandler route of making movies just as a way to hang out with his friends.
reddit screencap thread
Kill yourself.
This
Reddit is more on topic than anime is yet there’s an anime thread every day
Nobody gives a fuck. Make an original thread next time or go back.
I felt the same
Since french dispatch his movies feel less comfy
This is a thread about Wes Anderson films, are you going to talk about that or or just bitch?
/thread
His movies are pretentious as fuck. Only insufferable people like them.
There's also a belief among some old writers and directors that you only have 10 or 15 good ideas in you before it starts fading away. Quentin Tarantino is one of them, which is way he's obsessed with only making a limited number of movies. Wes Anderson is already at 12 or 13 full films not including shorts. There might be some truth to the writer burn out old wives tale. Kevin Smith is another example of a creator making too much content and fizzling out. They also have a belief that TV shows start imploding after 60 episodes or 3 conventional seasons, which is actually true for most shows. You just run out of ideas and eventually everything you do is a just a cash grab. Musicians have a similar belief. Old writers are pretty interesting. Chat with them if you ever get a chance.
I liked the French Dispatch and Asteroid City so no, i don´t think so. If anything he is getting better.
maybe for the exact reason in your reddit screencap you stupid fucking faggot
It's a mindless one line reddit screencap thread. You scraped the bottom of the barrel from your shithole site and regurgitated it here. Everyone already knows Wes Anderson's flanderized style wore thin. We discussed it extensively when Asteroid City came out two years ago. You're probably the same kind of cancer that spams the same threads every single day.
hated? man, if you claim hjes being hated based on that pic, you are a fucking crystal faggot. The man has been doing the same film for like 20 fucking years, back then the aesthetic was nice and the style was cool, now is boring, it happens, Anderson abused that style and now he cant get the same reception, is that hating? no, maybe you are a fragile faggot who cannot stand criticism
Just imagine the text in the picture is in OPs post.
What's the fucking difference; you newfag, tryhard faggot?
Recycling posts from reddit is kosher because OP never had an original thought for himself. Wow, great fucking thread. You can go back too.
He recently released pure kino with his Dahl adaptations.
I always hated him. Based world catching up to me.
His movies are just excuses to engage in occult and Satanic rituals. His movies are the cinematic equivalent of Bohemian Grove.
Since Royal Tannenbaums
them?
trying this hard to fit in
Only newfags care this much about literally anything. Embrace the deluge, faggot, stop letting it bother you this much and your life will improve. Shit is inconsequential
just accept that everything is going to infinitely worsen and do nothing bro just have a normal one lmao
Fuck off normalfaggot.
Adding to this, not giving a fuck and giving up is exactly why there's a nonstop torrent of garbage everywhere. Mediocre people are content with mediocrity.
I feel like when his movies started to get too popular and all the famous actors wanted to be in them acting cringe it all went downhill.
I want to see him make something like Bottle Rocket or Rushmore where it's less rigid with whatever style it's turned into now
you're a FUCKING NORMIE because you aren't constantly angry about everything
What a fun and fruitful way of thinking. You seem so well off and content with yourself, it shows.
His films no longer appeal to modern sensibilities
He’s just repeating the same thing over and over again. Not only is the style and approach tedious at this point but it’s no longer the hipster era so it seems dated and over.
I feel your pain bro. Then again it sucks being born right (millennial) at a time you witness the peak of Western film and TV and then see it slide hard into unfiltered dog food
I wonder if this like the last few generations of Rome, witness the slow decline
Kevin Smith is another example of a creator making too much content and fizzling out.
shit example, his first four movies are very very arguably not shit but everything after that is embarrassing
You demonstrably are. You eat digital shit and tell others to enjoy it too. Likely one of the same anons running damage control for every stagnant tv show and movie.
You catch the game last night, dude?
I'm endlessly amused because all these retarded reddit fags talking about Wes Anderson make no sense.
gee I loved (Wes Anderson film) and it's my favorite movie ever, but man I watched (almost the exact same Wes Anderson) and I fell asleep while my wife's boyfriend was over! It was totally unwatchable!
There’s is nothing wrong with having a set style, but when that style never changes or evolves it loses that unique luster about it and just becomes boring.
his version of Japan, unlike in anime, don't really engage in anything beyond the looks + vibes. he's a tourist of the human world, where alien visitors might have genuine curiosity he has none. He wants to assign meanings and significance to his knick knacks, fine. but it's not as rich as what's in the real world.
It's not just the style it's the plots. Every single one is about some boy or man dealing with his daddy issues while being quirky. We get it Wes, you have daddy issues. You're 50 years old. Move on.
I never said to enjoy anything, lord knows I mostly don't, why else would I be here? Let that shit slide off of your shoulders rather than working yourself up into a tizzy and you'll feel better
To be fair if I was his dad I'd hate him too, nobody wants an arrogant hipster british dandy who is overly obsessed with pastel colors as a son
The internet has gotten much browner since he started making films.
True, every movie after Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are forgettable, but that's 5 memorable movies right there. And his comic book work in the '90s and early 2000s was fantastic. Some of the best Daredevil and Green Arrow stories since comic writing's golden age in the '80s. That's probably where his burnout came from. He wrote very long comic book story arcs, and most of his comic book work after that has also sucked.
That's why it's important to largely watch older movies and occasionally check out one of the rare worthwhile new releases. Otherwise it's easy to end up like nu/tv/, perpetually coping and consuming garbage to use as new conversation pieces with fellow social degenerate nerds. These are sick people
Let that shit slide off of your shoulders rather than working yourself up into a tizzy and you'll feel better
Chronic pothead mindset. Being comfortable with mediocrity is never a good thing and only encourages more mediocre sewage runoff. You need to get mad as hell

The tight thing is that I don't have to smoke weed to not be a hyperactive raging sperglord :D
This
And this
And this
His movies were always artfag pseud garbage that put forward the vibe of "you either like it or you have poor taste". Normgroids drink the kool aid because they are entirely driven by social perceptions. As for why even they have recently woken up, I couldn't say, but it's not Wes' movies that have changed.
Because you're a little beta sex kitten with no vitality and testosterone just like Wes Anderson. I'm a fucking BEAST of biblical power, white lightning shoots through my veins!
His shtick got old like Tim Burton. His movies feel very Obama era.
But the thing is.. why are you gay
It's just the same quirky slop with the same film framing and colors. There's no point to his movies he's already said whatever he was trying to
They are so stale and formulaic. The actors all just stand in front of the camera, completely still, and read their lines in a flat voice, almost like they are reading from a teleprompter. The films feel like unfinished screen tests.
