A lot of the time, canonically, Superman's adoptive mother Martha Kent makes his costume for him using the blankets that he was wrapped in as a baby in his rocket ship. The Gunn Version seems likely to be following that interpretation as opposed to the Donner/Snyder interpretations where he obtains it in the Fortress of Solitude from Jor-El's Ai-ghost.

If Cavill had the trunks he would mog. The suit is basically all of the classic proportions of iconic Superman. The big changes are the colours (which are fixed after Man of Steel for the most part) and the lack of a yellow S on the back of his cape, as well as the trunks. But it's the iconic comic book look to the boots, shield size and neckline. The 1940s throwback logo which also looked alieny was a good look too.

But the texture is a little lame, and the lack of trunks makes it look like some weird fetish outfit instead of a superman costume. Every edit with trunks has looked vastly superior.

The Gunn suit? I like the Kingdom Come inspired S but with the more defined bottom like, the yellow outline and the optical illusion that comes with it. I'm not a fan of the Nu52 inspired liney suit but I at least like that it's like a costume and not body armor. Plus, if his Mom made it for him from the blankets in his ship it'll make sense why it's a bit baggy on him and maybe even explain all the lines; that'd be cool. Either way, I'm optimisic about the Gunn film because it seems to have a lot of love and joy for the character. Snyder seemed like he fucking hated Superman. He went out of his way in every movie to try and reduce his screen time.

Proudly forever a Reeve fag, though. They'll never make a Superman film better than Donner's original. It's one of the great American films.
