They went all Deadpool&Wolverine-lite with it.
Lots of cameos/easter eggs (even the Spider-Mobile!).
When Spidey gets set up as a criminal by Black Cat, he creates 4 different new costumes (Dusk, Ricochet, Prodigy and Hornet), but it's treated as a gag and mostly like a music video inside the movie before Pete decides to go back to the Spider-Man identity.
Flash appears and he changed/matured since the last movies. They become friends, sort of, but Pete is not sure it would have happened before the mind wipe so he's weary of trusting him. Oh, and Flash and his family lost their money, so he's living in the same poor conditions as Peter.
Scorpion is only an after credit bit. Tomstone is an enforcer, nothing else. Boomerang is a joke villain ("Are they running out of villain themes or what?").
The main villain is kept secret for now, but it's The Hobgoblin. Pete is freaked out by him because GG killed May last movie and he goes full "I AM THE SPIDER" psychotic break like in the comics. He even does the web cocoon thing. But MJ brings him out of his homicidal rage by being miss sassy damsel in distress.
Soidey wears a comics accurate black costume at one point, but it's a special suit for a single purpose against Hobby and he's wearing the normal suit under it so when it has dne it's job he just rips it off.
Flash has a redeeming (REDEEM!!!) action scene in the last battle when he saves Ned (who isn't the Hobgoblin btw).
The movie ends with Hobby still at large, but defeated. He goes to an abandonned plnt to meet his boss, JJ Jameson!
JJJ is about to give the Scorpion his powers. He then reveals his true face. It's not JJJ, it's the Chameleon.
