I was there for the original threads as I watched it in the Kinoplex, I wasn't the only one shitting on it for being nonsensical.

The meme stunts themselves are a small fraction of the run time, obviously. There's still plenty of action throughout the films. I hardly remember any scenes in Dead Reckoning that weren't action scenes of some kind.
