Asked for examples of an actual horror movie where the black person dies first

asked for examples of an actual horror movie where the black person dies first

get told Scream 2

Isn’t scream meant to be a satire of slasher movies?

How is “the black character dies first” believed to be super common when nobody can name non meta uses of it in a film?

IMG_9289.jpg - 2025x3000, 1.33M

If it was a thing, it was a long time ago. It's spent far longer being "referenced as a thing" than it ever did being a thing.

It’s a thing. The fact everybody knows about it proves how prevalent it was

I wonder where this trope/urban legend started?

Then why are all the "examples" just people referencing it?

ask AI to actually list examples

500 word essay citing multiple authors

can only actually find 2

Night Of The Living Dead, which is clearly incorrect

Spider-Baby, which isn't quite a horror film and the only partially true.

Both from the 60's and not related to the slasher genre

I like it when black people die

It was always a bullshit trope you have to really search for an example and for every 1 there are 5 more that don't do it.

There are tons of examples, tv tropes has hundreds

It was never "the black person dies first". The complaint (back in the day) was there was always 1 token negro and he *always* died. That shit goes back to Night of the Living Dead.

OP is a faggot.

I'm fine with dead black people

It seems that the trope IS "black guy dies first". Which I have to assume at some point was misconstrued from "black guy always dies".

It was never "the black person dies first". The complaint (back in the day) was there was always 1 token negro and he *always* died

Then why is every single time it’s ever been mentioned by comedians or satire it’s not referred to as “black characters always die”?

It’s consistently just been referenced as “black person dies first”

You’re a retard faggot contrarian

Also I found a bunch across many genres, but they are predominantly action. Horror and slasher films are basically not represented. Oddly they seem to be POST Scream 2, mostly. Only slasher I could find was Alone In The Dark and both it's ranking as a slasher and the definition of the trope have to be stretched a little to count.

The tropes has ALAAYS meant “minorit” in truth. And that can mean any of the following dying first

any non white characrer

a female character

a white male character who is coded to be a minority (AKA a nerd or jock)

Also if they don’t technically die first it still counts because they are the first of their group to die. Also it doesn’t technically need to be a horror movie just a movie with potential horror elements

As usual, chudcels tried to misrepresent this to try and ignore the real history of oppression they made

Either niggas consistently die *first* in the horror movies or they don't. There is no trope because it doesn't happen. One image doesn't make a trope.

Then why is every single time

Oh shut the fuck up. You know this phantom trope doesn't happen. But you're still posting because it is "mentioned by comedians or satire". Who is the retard faggot contrarian?

whaddap sickle cell

it doesn’t happen

Proof in OP it does happen

Everyone's saying it so it must be true

Genuine retard-tier take

You fags don't watch enough movies.

The one that springs to mind first is The Edge (1996ish?), in which the black guy gets eaten first by the grizzly. The pilot dies to the geese impact before that, but he isn't much of a character.

There was a thriller/horror about a group of friends who get attacked by a gang, or something, in a mall, I think. It was mid to late 1980s. I think there's a black member of the group, and he dies first.

The group of villains in Cliffhanger has a black member who is, if not the first, at least early on in the list of their deaths.

Just a few examples.

It seems that the trope IS "black guy dies first".

Because people see media and transpose it into real life.
youtube.com/watch?v=7DvrIE9aad8
this was the first time I heard it said this way.

It's listed as a trope though. Even though it's actually this

Anon, black people actually believe the number one cause of death of black people is police. You really think they'll be more reasonable in fake movies?

If you expand it, there are a lot of movies. But as far as the commonly held belief goes, there is none. I.e. a slasher where the first to go in the group is the token black guy. Now it makes me wonder what other common tropes are wrong.

I'll be right back

Surely that's got to have some real merit.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

dumbest post I've read all day

It’s literally just something blacks invented to get mad about. It doesn’t happen. I think a study of the most popular horror films ever showed that blacks are actually less likely to die first than other races

but what about ____

ok....there is statistically going to be films that exist where a black character is the first to die, but does that make it a "trope"?

In a white country, main characters should generally be white. In movies with a high body count, minority actors will die more often than their white counterparts. This is healthy and normal.

Dawn of the Dead (1978)

considered one of the most iconic horror films

the black guy not only doesn't die first, but doesn't die at all, and is one of only two characters to survive the movie

dod.jpg - 1200x662, 75.72K

Night of the Living Dead also has everyone in the cast die, but the sole black character dies LAST

If you're forced to make exceptions and bring up movies not even for the horror genre then you failed. Good day sir.

A quick perusal of tvtropes autism does seem to show that it didn't happen much in horror.
But

Checkmate OP

My favorite horror movie along with Grumpy Old Men

Ah yes, my favourite horror movie is also the edge

You’re just media illiterate

Shouldn’t they take a more formal picture for promoting the film? This just looks like they walked in from their normal day in the hood.

The one on the far left is wearing a Rosa Parks hoodie. Dats Rite!

Spider Baby

One Missed Call

But I do agree that it isn't really a trope and I think most film aficionados will know this. The real origin is horror films have Token black characters and they will usually end up dying. Roland Kincaid and Demon from Friday the 13th 5 are two of my favorite black film characters of all time and both are killed off. In the 90s films like Anaconda and Deep Blue Sea were sort of a breath of fresh air since black characters were more than set dressing.

Isn't that a 50-50 chance?

>The Shining

Only one person is killed in this whole film and there's only three people in it who aren't the villain.

so six million are also a thing then because "everybody knows" it's true?

They also think black women have a higher maternal mortality rate, but it's really because they're murdered by their partners at ridiculously higher rates.

People repeat a lie that mean its true

Danny kills Jack at the end

Jack is the villain.

In horror or survival movies, very few characters survive ,usually only the main character, who is often female. Most others die, including the Black character, unless he is a lead that is common in every movie now.

So? We're talking about who dies, faggot.

Which the villain is not included in, given they are the villain.

nigga here. i look like the manlet in the brown jacket with glasses but i wish i looked like the muscular dude to the left of him

I always knew it as "there's a token black guy that dies", never that he died first

There must be a name for this concept, where something is repeated so often that if it was true in the first place is completely forgotten
It's like an accepted narrative

you've never met some histrionic personality type before?
like you'll ask to borrow a pencil for the first time ever and they'll hit you with "you're always borrowing my pencils!"
well niggers are all like this so it makes for some very dull and tedious social phenomena like the title for this stupid movie
another thing they all talk about is how everyone wants to touch their hair
have you ever seem a mess of nigger wool with its attendant flecks of weed and dry skin wafting out at irregular intervals and though "I wish I could touch that"?
well niggers are under the collective delusion that everyone wants to touch their hair when almost no one can be persuaded to share a room with them.

It was never a thing. It became repeated in pop culture so blacks could pretend they're victims (as usual).

The complaint (back in the day) was there was always 1 token negro and he *always* died.

As they should. Horror movies tend to have more lethal stakes, so if there's only one black person in a cast, there's a good chance they'll die, it's basic maths.

The trope is if you're black you're most likely to survive because Hollywood goes out of their way to treat them like royalty.

Black fragility.

The real origin is horror films have Token black characters and they will usually end up dying.

As they should? Do you understand basic maths?

In the 90s films like Anaconda and Deep Blue Sea were sort of a breath of fresh air since black characters were more than set dressing.

yeah. what a relief to finally get niggers
the demiurge heard our lamentations and took pity

"basic maths" is a weird way to put it but i agree with the general spirit of it. black characters naturally will die in a story where mortality is a subject. if non-black characters are getting killed, then a black character probably will die too. it'd be weird if this wasn't the case, because you'd have to go out of your way to protect the black character while everyone else is croaking and that comes off as patronizing too
