What's the greatest film of all time in your opinion?

Koyaanisqatsi

Hudson Hawk

tdk

The big lebowski

Andrei Rublev if I were held at gunpoint

Rocco and His Brothers

Buck Breaking

Jurassic Park

Sharknado

This

Shrek

shrekino.webm - 480x852, 3.12M

Crank 2

somehow both are correct

The Lost Boys is the perfect Hollywood movie. Every scene is classic. Every character is perfectly cast and memorable. No other movie feels like it but every Hollywood movie should. The only horror comedy on that tier is American Werewolf in London but it has scenes that drag and the MC is dull, probably Landis' intention but regardless.

Zoomers probably don't even know what you're talking about. Smh (shaking my head)

Minecraft Movie (2025).

as a normie: goodfellas
honorary mention for original suspiria and the good the bad and the ugly

Speed.

Rocky

Ben-Hur

There is no fucking debate. Its The Matrix. It is THE greatest film of all time. It will never be surpassed.

Marvel's avengers, endgame

Armageddon

Action driven. Relationship driven. Comedy. Gravity. Technical dialogue. Emotional dialogue. Over the top characters. Laid back characters. Gender and race inclusive. Not overtly political. Makes academic people heroic. Makes blue collar people heroic.

My choice would probably change tomorrow but right now I’d say shawshank redemption

The Magnum Opus of Cinematic Achievement. Everything after this is downhill.

greatest film of all time? unironically gotta say it’s ***The Godfather***
like fr it’s the OG sigma male grindset movie but with actual writing
not just vibes—**legacy, betrayal, Italian hand gestures**
cinematography? peak.
acting? **Marlon Brando literally mumbled his way into immortality**
soundtrack? slaps harder than a boomer yelling at his nephew
end of the day, every film since been trying to cosplay that energy
it’s the blueprint
no cap.

for me it's either el topo or the holy mountain by jodorowski
these are acceptable too

this post sounds like an AI that was instructed to talk like a zoomer

Lmao

fpbp

jodo

loling at ur life

End of Evangelion

So...a zoomer? Think about how they learn to write and talk now and how the AI is trained. It's a feedback loop at this point, chicken or the egg scenario.
You unwittingly posted something very interesting.

is there not some mad epic with like seventeen different characters/plots, all of different genres? some kind of anthology like Fantasia, almost, or Love Actually.

surely if they did that well, it'd be a shoe-in for the greatest film. you would need no other films at that point.

this was my go to druk movie in 2021, must have watched it atleast 25 times
this
but actually it's LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
