He's right.
el negre blanco
he is but no one on here can agree because wanting to fairly tax people and make this country actually liveable is communism apparently
fairly tax people
how does a ruler go about doing that?
yes yes we know economy is collapsing, middle class is disappearing, billionaires are the problem, now what?
I listened to this guys debate with the aussie bloke since he's being astroturfed everywhere. The aussie wasn't even particularly smart or well-versed in economics but he BTFO this retard easily. He just bounces between vibey catchphrases and being deliberately obtuse to make his opponent look pedantic when they're actually making an important distinction.
deliberately obfuscates wealth vs income
aussie corrects him
starts waffling about trusts and inheritance tax
immediately proven wrong
keeps teasing the idea of a wealth tax because "dey cant pick up dem houses and take em overseas blud" (ignoring that real estate is a tiny % of the mega-rich's net worth and property taxes are already a thing)
aussie points out wealth taxes don't work
he immediately backs down on
comes up with "taxing corporations on profits at the point of sale" (what the fuck does that even mean??) as an alternative
same way they did it for the last 100 years
Oh it’s the astroturfed tax the rich guy who lied about his career. Do you retards really want to give more money for the government to waste? Fuck tax make it 5% for everyone regardless of income.
It is completely okay to deport leftists to Venezuela where they will have fair taxes and communism.
Please link the video in question with timestamps proving your points otherwise fake and gay
Wealth taxes have never worked ever they’re fucked stupid it would be more revolutionary to say no more tax on income but this retard is just another elite plant to keep retards thinking taxation is good.
Looks like some waffling reddit soi so I don't think I will.
Switzerland has a wealth tax.
That’s why no one lives there they just hide their money there.
I'm not trawling through the entire 2 and half hours just to satisfy you. His whole shtick is implying that wealth should be taxed with a load of non-committal rhetoric, then backing down and coming up with this bizarre thing about corporate profits when confronted on how he actually wants to tax wealth. Watch it if you want but I'm not watching it again for you.
youtube.com
Wealth taxes have never worked ever
Yeah man let's just ignore the times after WW2 when the US taxed wealthy people making over a certain amount and how the lead into the biggest economic boom ever.
Of course the US not being completely assblasted by WW2 was a factor as well, but let's not ignore how much wealth taxation actually helped people.
Same goes for the UK up until the 70s.
Well, the UK is finished as a country
So we will remove CGT with this wealth tax like Switzerland? Probably not you boot licker. Taxation on income is theft.
those were income taxes, not wealth taxes and nobody actually paid those 70-90% meme rates irl anyway
UK has some of the biggest taxes in the world
TAX DA RICH
The rich all move to Dubai
welp, better increase your taxes to pay for all the Richie riches who could afford to leave
Wanting to give a government that wastes insurmountable amounts of money and resources on illegal aliens that rape and murder kids even more tax money is big brain thinking apparently. This piece of shit is a globohomo white male hating fart huffing redditor through and through. Why don't you just stamp the word FAGGOT on your head and be done with it?
Irrelevant because the state of the country is beyond repair, no matter how much you tax or not
what phenotype is this
He's a manlet who lied about his career (he was just a normal trader for a while not particularly successful). He is trying to sell books by rehashing many of the same old lefty economic arguments. He is a performer and he even wears a costume to appeal to young people who will believe him and buy his book.
But taxing assets instead of income isn't a bad idea, if the assets are property. Like a land value tax. That makes sense. It's just that no one trusts the government to spend it properly anymore. They will probably flush it down the toilet or give it to Muhammad
Third world immigration destroys London, Birmingham and Manchester. Environmentalist alarmists destroy economy and all infrastructure development. Anti Western propaganda destroys morale and hope. Dude, just tax that Virgin airlines guy, that'll fix everything
Who am I bootlicking?
I don't live in the US so I got not no opinion on CGT, in my country (Finland) I come from a family that is upper class, one of my parents income is 3-4x times the average salary, I am still for proper taxation so that social services & the "social bandaid" work.
Not everyone in society will be an entrepreneur, or strive to be one, and that is good, we need people who work basic service jobs or within the health sector, and it is the duty of the government to ensure that people who work basic and simple jobs can afford to live a proper life without living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to survive.
And we get that by having proper taxation on everyone in society, especially those who are in the top 5% (like myself by proxy of being in my family), if we hoard all the wealth and don't let it come back into the country then no shit the living standards are going to drop.
Oh yeah, income taxes, got that mixed up. My mistake.
Personally I am still for wealth taxes when you're above a certain amount of wealth, there is no reason for anyone in society to need more than 10 million dollars (random number pulled out of my ass), society improves a lot when money goes into the system and can improve the living standards of the common man.
And with 10 million dollars you can still live a comfy life, you don't need a big mega mansion next to the beach, get a cozy cottage out in nature instead. You don't need a fancy italian sports car, just get a basic daily driving car like a VW.
nobody actually paid those 70-90% meme rates irl anyway
yeah gonna need some way to prove this otherwise this is just "trust me bro" levels of credibility.
No.
in my country (Finland)
No one cares about your third world opinion. Keep licking boots, you’ll soon be licking Putins
fake economics, fake ceo and a 3rd guy
fantastic.
Average American intellect, can't refute or debate anything, only obsessed with what country you are from.
How are those protectionism tariffs going pal? Enjoying the price of eggs lately?
And with how badly the invasion of Ukraine is going, I don't think Russia will be coming here anytime soon, and we have plenty of people ready if a war ever would happen (spoiler: it won't).
we should tax the poor like 30% of the country pay no taxes
Turns out...little commie fella.
what television and film is this fella from?
No one cares what you think. Learn Russian, you’ll need it soon and make sure you lick badly Putins boots real clean.
yes goyim, tax the poor! dont tax the people worth billions, let them suck your wealth out of you some more
Yes goyim pay more taxes so it can be sent to Israel.
Thread is about taxes
Uk always had some of the biggest taxes in the world
Many British musicians used to live somewhere else to avoid paying taxes
Pink Floyd for example
incoherent schizophrenic american rambling
You should seek some mental help, but with how you are American you probably wouldn't be able to afford it and instead just develop an addiction to some prescription medication instead.
1% of people pay over 50% of taxes
You are Finnish. Shut up.
Remember when taxing people made them richer? No, me neither.
The problem is you make £60k + and you're considered "rich" and get raped with 45% tax rate, barely able to live any better than the guy earning 40k except maybe you can live in a slightly less of a shithole area, meanwhile the guys earning 1mil + can all afford to hire accountants and perform talmudic rituals moving money and assets offshore and paying little to no tax. When people say "tax the rich" they don't mean you, who will never earn 1m+ in your life, retards. But I agree the risk of flight is real unfortunately.
Yes, and they should pay more.
When anyone says “tax the rich,” what they actually mean is taxing middle and upper middle class westerners. The rich are actually just the global rich. Inheritance taxes will just fuck over young people who are already fucked by the modern economy and job market by fucking over any wealth their parents will pass on. Actual rich will the money and the means to avoid these taxes. Crazy there are people who take these flavour of the month nudge unit faggots seriously.
A million is that rich. How poor are you?
We are all killers, our taxes have funded murder in war
Why does my nationality bother you so much?
Did your corporate overlords' 24/7 news channel tell you that all Europeans are bad?
tax the rich into oblivion
the rich simply leave the country
the poor no longer recieve the tax from the rich
the country becomes 3rd world in a decade
any other way? c'mon now
the rich simply leave the country
Oversimplification, most rich people want to stay in their countries and will not just simply leave.
We don't need to tax them into oblivion, the problem is usually that people who just enter the limit of what is considered wealthy get thrown huge taxes on them so their income ends up being about as much as they had before while someone who is in the top 10 percentile can afford to hire accountants who will find legal loopholes so they aren't properly taxed.
And educate me, give me an example of a country where all rich people simply just left because they were too highly taxed.
we should tax the poor
like 30% of the country pay no taxes
retard.
if you're making so little money (about £12k a year) that you are paying no income tax you're not going to be saving/investing very much of that
you will spend the majority on goods and services.
If you tax these people they will have less money to spend, and fewer goods and services get bought.
This is bad for companies, this is bad for growth.
And who gets the money that you have taxed from them?
If the govt keeps hold of it, it goes back into public services. Good right?
No. Because you've the poor poorer, so now they can provide less for themselves and more people overall will need these public services, so they will need that money anyway - you've gone nowhere.
If the govt pays off debts with the money (austerity) then the rich get it.
What do the rich do with their money? They buy assets. House prices get higher, fewer people can afford to buy their first home, there's more demand for rental properties so rents go up too as mortgages increase.
Shit on the poorest and you'll find out you're poor asf too.
you are being dense on purpose if you believe there are millionaires who love their country more than they love money.
I know the likelihood that a Anon has made a substantial amount of money is unlikely, but just imagine earning all that money and being equally willing to give it away because you have some sort of national allegiance.
You can literally buy citizenship to countries with more favourable tax rates. When discord socialists get together they chronically fail to imagine what it's like to actually be rich.
we need fair taxation
look up stats.
the top 10% earners pay 70% of all collected incomentax.
Yes top earners earn alot, bit they also pay a lot. They are the ones that keep thr system running. More than 30% of the population are net negative contributers. Over their lifetime they cost the state more money than they have ever generated.
Peole like to hate on high earners but the truth is they generate most of the economic output, and they pay way more in total than the lowest 50%
don't tax the rich
you receive no tax from the rich
the poor still need their gibs else they'll burn down teesside community centre and start lynching mohammed
govt has negative wealth already and owes fuckloads
govt needs their own gibs just to pay off interest on their debts
where's the money going to come from?
fuck it just tax the middle class into the dirt
you will never own a house
also I forgot to add,
the UK, which is (1) google search away.
The UK lost a net 10,800 millionaires to migration last year, a 157 per cent increase on 2023 and more than any other country bar China. In fact, the actual number moving out could be even higher as the net figure factors in millionaires who arrive in the country.
I am not on benefits, go fuck yourself.
That podcast exposed that UK cunt.
He just spouts commie bullshit. He is the finance version of a D.E.I black lives matter woke caren fighting for black rights or whatever.
He also got rich during the 2008 crash and not during a noemal market. I think he just got super lucky that he was trading bearish exactly when the 2008 crash happened and he jiar kept suefing "im one of the best traders ever" wave.
the bleakest part about the situation in the UK, is that even if people somehow had American wages, you still have to live in the UK.
you are the working poor
you are a scrounger on bennies
it's actually pretty annoying to move to a different country especially if you have a lot of assets in said country (which you can further discourage by setting high taxes on selling those assets) and all your stuff is here and you're used to living here. even with money uprooting your entire life isn't fun and somewhat risky
tall poppy syndrome is rampant, so no, whilst I am not rich, I do not associate with those people. I don't scrounge and I don't know what bennies are.
I will never despite anyone else more than billionaire bootlickers on Anon Babble
you really are the most pathetic people on this planet
that's the only thing Keir has done right for himself and it was completely with accident with Brexit. I don't think Keir would ever publicly admit how fantastic Brexit was for his regime.
puts down billionaire cock
picks up union leader cock
not to mention, there are a lot of benefits to being in the us such as the fact that you don't have to pay taxes for owning a house, which makes owning a house more financially viable, which means you can make more money.
Of course there are rich people who love money more than they love their own country, of course some will leave.
I am simply just saying that thinking that every rich person will simply just leave because they'd get taxed more is an oversimplification.
It is an argument I see thrown around all the time while no one ever provides a genuine source or proof of it.
It is more common for rich people to just look for loopholes in taxing while they still stay in their countries while operating whatever income stream they have.
Alright, so I read the article that you referenced while you were too lazy to just link it as well. Can't link it since my post gets flagged as spam.
Seems mostly like speculation and guesses on taxes increasing, this could be the reason for some millionaires leaving, part of the article states that the London Exchange current issues could be the reason why they leave.
Another part speculates that there are other international markets with high levels of English proficiency other than the UK.
So while I am not disagreeing that higher taxation could make some greedy wealthy people to leave, saying that taxation is the only reason is just plain stupid if you ask me.
He's absolutely right. Tax brackets are a thing so only the wealthy will be affected anyway.
Curtail the rights of corporations so they aren't given the same rights as people.
I watched the whole thing and the aussie bloke didn't BTFO anyone.
He agreed with Gary about what the problem was (the ultra-wealthy), and why (wealth extraction, bailed out by government, socialism for the wealthy/austerity for the masses), he only disagreed with what to do about it.
For the record the aussie guy is saying:
reduce the size of government
further reduce taxes for the rich
And I forget the other two, something vague about 'technology', but these two points are already beyond idiotic.
This is the same shit as 'trickle-down economics' where you give the billionaires even MORE power and options and HOPE they park their money/invest in your country.
Gary's solution about re-appropriating the money from the wealthy (in his case taxes) is the only viable solution in terms of pure mathematics.
It's like if a massive boat was sinking, and instead of bailing out the water you try and come up with as many other wacky solutions like building more of the boat while it's sinking.
And yes, Gary is saying austerity on the ultra-wealthy probably won't succeed, because he admits that there's currently a loophole in the system where the ultra-wealthy can just grab a foreign passport and leave with all their wealth to a foreign country, again, something everyone agrees on.
The solution is obvious though. Severe austerity measures for the ultra-wealthy. Partnership with foreign countries.
If you have over 500+ million in wealth, you have to pay taxes in England. If you refuse, you will not be allowed in the country or allowed to invest in British companies. Then once your system is up and running, partner with China on this deal. So now if you're ultra-wealthy you're not allowed in England or China or you will be taxed or allowed to
Why would I try and link it, if it was going to get flagged anyway?
If you knew any rich people you would have heard about it.
run companies there. Then gradually bring more countries into the fold.
Eventually you'll have ultra-wealthy who won't be able to go anywhere except Cayman Islands, Monaco, Switzerland, Singapore, Ireland, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, etc. So let them stay there. If they want freedom of travel and investment they'll pay out.
Sounds draconian but it's more than doable. Rename is something like 'Civic duty for global citizens' or some shit.
Obviously what that money is then allowed to be spent on must be heavily regulated and restricted, for instance only allowed to be spent on improving the member countries on social projects or green energy or some future economy.
I know some wealthy people, I don't live in the UK so they probably wouldn't mention anything about the UK.
And those I know who are wealthy hardly ever want to talk about money, if anything they are the most private people about it, I assume it's usually because they are doing some shady shit and they don't want anyone outside of their family to know about it.
I have one close friend who told me in secret that his parents cheat on their taxes by a huge amount every year, this guy's family lives in a mansion that's worth about 8 million euros, all of their children drive luxury german cars and their family went on expensive skiing trips to France and Switzerland all throughout their childhoods.
His own words were that his parents will most likely never leave even if their tax dodging was discovered since their entire families and lives are based here, of course both him & I can be wrong about this.
I am not someone who is against people having wealth, I myself come from a prosperous family thanks to my grandfather being (in fairness) a greedy "backstabbing cunt" who scammed everyone he ever worked with in companies throughout the 70-80s and later bought lots of houses in a seaside town that later experienced a big boom in housing prices, which is when he sold everything and accumulated all of his "hard earned" wealth.
You don't need to be less well off to have some basic empathy and wish for the better of society.
Let's make them pay 90%
Rich people aren't magic money wizards who conjure wealth out of thin air and hold the fabric of economic reality together. They're semi-competent organizers of capital and labor (not always: see Elon Musk) who got incredibly lucky gaining control over large amounts of resources (which would still exist independently of them) compared to other organizers of capital and then hired those less lucky guys to run the day to day operations of their businesses. In other words, we don't need them. We can just hire people to organize labor and capital under public ownership ourselves. If they try captal flight, which isn't really feasible for their most important tangible assets anyway, that's what freezing bank accounts and no fly lists are for baby.
The bigger risk is a capital strike, but once again the trick their is to call their bluff and just fucking take it from them if they try it.
you are being dense on purpose if you believe there are millionaires who love their country more than they love money.
Excellent point. All the more reason not to let vital sectors of the economy be privately owned.
I feel like a LOT of people who immediately, and aggressively, jump onto the tax the wealthy, etc. wagon have resentment issues at heart.
As though someone with wealth can't want a better society, too? Too many anger issues borne from resentment I'm seeing.
People just don't know how many hidden wealth there is.
There are people who have 100 million and think they're top dog when actually they're at the bottom of a very heavily populated and very very very long ladder.
I can't find the particular video but it was a video maybe part of this series that drove it home.
youtube.com
And people think Elon Musk is top dog when there are people with even more wealth but have it parked in physical tangible assets like land, entire countries, or just hide it much better.
Like Putin or Kim Jong Un are probably each individually wealthier than Musk.
And not just eastern dictators, familial dynasties/royals of the west probably have more wealth than Musk too, they just don't need to tether it to public monetary systems so it's not visible.
>As though someone with wealth can't want a better society, too?
That's nice, I still want democratic control over the economy and publicly owned capital.
make the country hell on Earth by importing brown hordes, make everything service based, create and endless supply of Turkish barbers so that councils have more money to spend on pointless gentrifying shit and the NHS can employ more fat cunt nurses
powerful and dare I say it university educated
Rich people aren't magic money wizards who conjure wealth out of thin air and hold the fabric of economic reality together. They're semi-competent organizers of capital and labor (not always
The majority of rich people don't organize anything. They just retain the very best financiers (maybe they just own entire finance companies) to manage their wealth.
I feel like a LOT of people who immediately, and aggressively, jump onto the tax the wealthy, etc. wagon have resentment issues at heart.
I used to feel this way until I learned the true landscape of wealth ownership.
It's more outrageously skewed than you can imagine. Watch Monopoly: Follow the Money:
youtube.com
Or some of the related videos from bitchute/rumble for a better idea of the real landscape.
Since my family were fairly prosperous as I pointed out earlier, I grew up going to a upper class school where if you looked at pure economics I was "poor" in comparison to other people at my school (still more well of than 85% of the country).
Most people I knew were people who came from families with generational wealth, almost all of them even when we grew older had little to no care about anyone besides themselves and their own interests.
Of course there were exceptions as with everything in life, but out of 100 people maybe 4-6 of them were people who wanted things to be better for everyone in society and not just their own cliques of highly wealthy people.
I don't hold resentment, at least I don't think so, I just think it's a shame that people let money corrupt them on the inside and turn them into hollow beings with little to no genuine humanity and compassion.
He's right but it will never change. The jews have won. There's no way out.
The fact that the main argument again his is "but the rich will just leave!" should tell you all you need about it.
It's admirable that he tries to tell people, but you can tell he knows it's not gonna go anywhere. Literally the entire world is against him.
