Reminder that the Star Wars prequel trilogy crashed the franchise so hard that George Lucas had to sell it.
The sequels then immediately outperformed them, and now SW is bigger than ever, with Disney already having produced 14 SW shows.

Prequels lost.
Lucas lost.
White slavers won.
The sloppa made more money so it's better
Now show me the budgets
new cope just dropped
It wasn't until 2015/2016 that enough zoomers and irony-poisoned millennials existed on the internet that prequel-love became mainstream. That was a decade after the final one released. Thus the sequels will finally get their light around 2029/2030 when irony poisoned zoomers and gen-alpha now flood the internet. Positive sequel posting is already increasing, completely unironically too. While OP is likely just shitposting, it used to only be that, shitposting. It is now an emerging trend that a co-worker will look at your dead in the eye and say The Rise of Skywalker was their favorite.

Star Wars was never good
Adjusted for inflation all time box office profits tell a different story. TFA had some hype due to being the start of a new trilogy and then people started to care less and less as Disney released more Star Wars movies.

Mousenigger cope.
Cool. Now tell me how much of all that was actually profit.
Phantom Menace budget: $115m
AOTC budget: $115m
ROTS budget: $113m
Farce Awakens budget: $533m
The Last Jedi budget: $300m
Rise budget: $416m
The Force Awakens is also the highest-grossing film that is neither by James Cameron nor Avengers
adjusts your budget for deflation
Shut the fuck up about star wars already nigger nobody fucking cares anymore
chud
prequels
not really anticipated
still do well though
3rd movie even does better than the second
sequels
highly anticipated
first movie is a failures
second movie losses a billion
movie after loses even more
Sure they made more, but they had the reputation, if you released the prequels today they'd do way better than disney wars.
Star Wars is all about the merchandise, the movies are side business. And the toy sales cratered.
Reminder
>movie after loses even more
Still made more than each of the prequel films though

Not really. Most of the prequel revisionism started after TLJ came out and the backlash against the sequels really kicked into high gear. Most of the prequelfag talking points got laughed out of the room until then.

It's a cringe word that they love using because they can't call people cucks because they themselves are cucks.
I'll continue to double down on the prequels. Disney will never win.
So it flopped?
It is a factual fact that the Prequels are factually better than the Disneyquels. 7,8 & 9 are some weird ass garbage that doesn't have anything to actually do with the previous six movies. You can literally just discard them and not lose anything. At least the prequels are actually about the story in the other movies. Also, Revenge of the Sith is a good movie, which none of the Disneyquals can say.

The prequels have better energy, if Disney wanted to make some actual money all they'd need to do was make a series based on ObiWan and Anakin in the gaps between the prequels and have it with a John Williams score, instead we only got 2 interesting scenes in the whole of Obi Wan, seriously what the fuck were they thinking.
