I think Strange New Worlds was generally okay, but it's been so long since I've seen it I don't care anymore.
Someone once described it as "a TOS porn parody" which is... surprisingly accurate.

I got tired when Breaking Bad kickstarted the trend of every show from there-on needing to be like a 10-15hr long movie each season, and then every Star Trek since has tried to do the same shit with no room to breathe.

3-5 are pure kino. 1 and two range from shit to mediocre, and Seven hard carried PIC, but forever fuck them for what they did to Icheb. Absolute cunt move. DISC at least had the decency to end on a happy note and give decent endings for everyone. Michael & Book was surprisingly well done.
Discovery broadly sucked because of the writing. The acting in Discovery is pretty solid, but they were given shitty YA novel-level stories by the writers.
Picard season 1 was bad and weird, and season 2 was somehow worse and much lazier than season 1. Season 3 was better, but not great, and the manipulative nostalgia slathered over every episode ultimately didn't help. Plus they killed captain shaw, fuck them.
I'm not gonna watch the academy show. It'll be somehow more annoying than Strange New Worlds. I never watched Lower Decks but it seems like it's okay from the bits and pieces I've seen.
This effort to soften it by referring to it by anything other than STD isn't working.
