/hor/ - Horror General

wendigo

Erm, cultural appropriation much?

It's funny when retarded white people get mad about that because seemingly actual natives don't even get mad about it.

i think it'd been better had we seen more variety with the monsters, rather than all of them turning into wendigos they could've turned into other monsters like trolls, vampires, women, giants, etc

I've heard that there was a werewolf rhat got cut or something? There is a drawing that shows the werewolf in the movie and the camera lingers on it, and other anons were saying that there was apparently a suit performer for a werewolf in the cast?
There is also the Witch in that scene in the other house.

we got: serial killer, witch, giant troll thing, evil water, worms, ghillie suit with a mask, wendigos, and then they scrapped the werewolf guy probably because the suit looked kinda bad

Why did it die?

Must've been a slow hour with no good posters on. Happens sometimes.

is it out on streaming?

giant troll thing

Oh yeah I forgot the giant, that was cool.
Movie did okay theatrically but I don't know if it's enough to spawn a sequel with more monsters, maybe if it does well when it lands on streaming services.

with all the backlash i doubt there'll ever be another one

Cabin in the Woods is barely a horror movie, though.

There wasn't much "backlash" outside of online movie circles, it made decent money and it got better reception than a lot of the other schlocky horror that's come out the past 2 years like Blumhouse crap. Most of the criticism boils down to "it's not the same as the game" and most people won't actually care about that.
Probably still won't happen but it's not an impossibility either.

Many such cases

that's probably true
but just looking at the BO numbers this will be his worst performing film to date
didn't feel like a sequel bait at the end either so i'm not going to expect another one

The Mexican world in Super Mario Odyssey is a big one. Retarded liberals on twitter cried about it but in Mexico (where they already love Mario) they thought it was the coolest shit ever.

that's more of an american thing, people from other cultures love seeing even the smallest amount of representation in pop media

I think I've watched every good horror movie in existence

How many have you seen?

Reminds me of the video where the white dude was walking around in a giant ass sombrero with a fake moustache and asking people if they thought his costume was offensive

all the white people said yes

all the Mexicans told him it was funny

587 according to my IMDB

Good numbers but you can still pump em up. Dive into some subgenres you haven't fully explored yet.

I did this a few years ago with giallo. Hadn't really seen very many so I spent a lot of time watching almost every giallo I could find, the good ones, bad ones and everything in between.

What are your favorites?
I've seen a fair bit of gialli but nowhere near all of them still.

I generally only watch English language movies because I find subtitles distracting, I think the last foreign movie I saw was Red Rooms because it got meme'd here a lot (it was good tho)

Oh man you're missing out on a lot of kino in that case
Blood and Black Lace, A Bay of Blood, Inferno, Tenebrae, The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, Stage Fright, Torso, just off the top of my head. I think Tenebrae's probably my all time favorite. There's still a ton I haven't seen. Give me your faves, anon

Seen em all except Communion and The Spiral Staircase which I will check out.

Hope you enjoy.

American Psycho

I'll rec Hatchet for the Honeymoon to you as well. The thing with these old Italian movies is that they're dubbed in every language (including Italian) so you can usually just watch an English version which is as good (if not sometimes better) than the Italian version. Hatchet for the Honeymoon is actually an instance where the English dub is better, because the original Italian dub for this movie is lost media and the Italian dub you will find is one that was made for 90s television.
A few more random recs

broadcast signal intrusion (2021)

the baby (1973)

don't be afraid of the dark (1973)

housebound (2014)

Chill.

There are no good posters here, anon. This is /hor/ you're talking about.

Did Mexicans love the Mexican levels in little big planet 1?

Cabin in the Woods sucks

what.jpg - 1000x1454, 163.4K

BLUUDUD IS COMING FOR YOU

/hor/ made this?

Kolobos 2 but it's banned from Hollywood and lost media

Billy Zane went too far during that one scene.
RIP to those we lost that day.

Does that imply an undead Internet? Are we the last survivors of an apocalyptic plague of zombie bots?

Billy Zane did nothing wrong!

My cousin produced it so it's a /hor/ film by proxy.

Those Linnea Quigley scenes they cut went too far imo

Is there someplace i could ask about a horror film i don't remember the name of?

Arrow and Shout Factory were supposed to release it in 4K for the 10th anniversary but the last surviving 35mm print was burned.
A cryptic "NPM" was found written on the warehouse door.
I wonder what that means...

Yeah so i don't remember much, but it was presumably about a group of adults who killed their childhood friend or something when they were kids and he now he haunts them. There was a scene where one of the adults guys has a screwdriver or some other tool in a room and he tries to attack the ghost.

Disliked FD6 but this guy was utter kino in it, oozed with soul and charisma.

another claimed by the tyranny of the Salt Mines?

More slashers going on 4k

Is this just a Ready or Not rip off?
