Holy shit. What an incredible shot

Holy shit. What an incredible shot.

I create better shots in my fucking sleep.

your AI slop has no value here.

I dont believe the people actually flew. No shots of them looking out the window in-flight. And can't see them in this video.
Maybe nathan flew around an empty plane with the copilot cuck. But no way it was full of actors.

WE GAAAAAAAN!

When you cant find muzzies to do 9/11 Part Deux Electric Boogaloo so you gotta do it urself, OY VEY!

chat is this real?

QRD?

Comedian takes flying lessons and pilots an airplane. Reddit thinks it's the apex of comedy.

It's Nathan Fielder. He has a comedy show called The Rehearsal. In this season, the theme was aviation safety. In the season finale, he reveals that he has been taking flying lessons and he's a certified pilot. He then flies a 737 with 200 passengers on board.

It's a reversed shot by the way

I'm just gonna go ahead and say this season was dogshit compared to S1. Only the episode where he was reliving the life of Sully was funny.

Funniest season of television I've ever seen

So what’s stopping you all from getting your pilot’s license. Don’t need a girlfriend, in fact, you can pick up as many flights to be away from your annoying family with enough money to afford your own place.

frames 0-480 clearly microsoft flight simulator or AI
frames 840-1320 clearly recorded on a greenscreen

I think I enjoyed season 1 more overall, but no episode of season 1 was as good as the season 2 finale. Season 1 was more comfy.
Pretty weak bait, but congrats on a pity (You).

It'd be funny if he crashed and everyone on board died. Just a bit of dark humour.

yes but whats up with this shot? is it real?

I hate flying so much it's unreal.

What do you think? Yes, it’s real. They had a camera plane right next to do. There was another shot where it was the camera going from the right side of the plane to the left while filming the cockpit and that looked really cool too.

Do you realize how expensive it is to become a pilot? It probably comes out to $100-$150 an hour to fly and you need 1500 flight hours minimum to be a commercial pilot.

with enough money

this is what stops most people
you’re looking at $10k-20k just to get single engine certified

Befriend someone that owns a small aircraft, exacerbate the numbers. Seems like they’re looking for people that are willing to fly with a basic grasp of air navigation and physics. A child could learn this with a flight sim.

I create poop and pee when I sleep

when the tv equivalent of shitposting produces a more kino shot than any hollywood film of the last 5 years

It blows my mind how those big things are able to fly. Engineers are amazing.

it must feel amazing to fly something so big desu

grasping at straws

Like driving a big bus or a semi on a steep goat trail mountain pass 50 miles from the ground. The dread of crashing and burning along with casualties you will be responsible for is anxiety inducing

This is how you end up as the subject of an episode of Air Crash Investigation.

Flying in easy weather now is fucking easy,
The auto pilot does literally everything, all you have to know what to tell the auto pilot.
Your Pilot skills only come in handy when you have take off, fly and land in shit conditions

Was it autism?

I don't get it.

peak comedy, you wouldn't understand

Nathan seems to be doubling down that he knows what he’s doing up there from his appearance on Kimmel and posts on social media. I think if anything he downplayed his experience and how comfortable he is flying now. I’m assuming all the footage at the end was part of him gaining his hours before doing the one for the show

except for the part where theres nobody onboard. that plane has no logos or markings its like a decommissioned avelo airlines plane

Get used to it. AI will be your life in a decade.

So the joke is a man learned to fly a plane? I genuinely don't get it. Bill Burr learned to fly a helicopter.

I can't imagine the permits needed to take a close up drone shot of a 737 in mid flight, assuming they really got that shot and didn't do some tomfoolery

It’s not really a punchline or anything. The show is about how to improve pilot safety and he decided to test his findings himself but it was essentially a failure

no drones are permitted at that level, they used 2 planes to film the 737

crazy how they went so close though

I'm sure they had lenses that helped with that. They probably didn't get that close but still pretty neat

So what’s stopping you all from getting your pilot’s license.

Waste of money and the government has been sucking out all freedom from pilots over the decades.

There's an over supply of commercial pilots which has caused wages and job conditions to worsen dramatically, it's not the 70s anymore.
And on top of that you also have to deal with unfair competition from the airline's who want to fulfill DEI requirements.
It's a huge waste of money, if you're willing to part with that kind of money and like the industry for whatever reason then spend it on certs to become a flight controller, at least you'll have a job for sure.

If you're okay just being a private pilot it's about $120/hr for the basic bitch cessna plus instructor and there's no minimum hours. You just need to learn the rules and maneuvers with an instructor and pass the written and flight exam. I got my private pilot cert with less than 50 hours of flight time.

Maybe for commercial. Private you can literally just take off without any sort of flight plan and do whatever the fuck you want as long as you radio into towered airspace properly and don't bust any of the easy regs like altitude minimums. My favorite example of how lax they still are is 14 cfr part 91 section 91.15 which says it's okay to dump shit out of the window in flight if it won't hurt anyone, so theoretically you could airdrop propaganda leaflets like it's 1944 germany

people are so desperate to scream fake on Nathan, probably hard to digest someone doing something exceptional

S1 might have had more laughs but S2 was better because it didn't just become about Nathan raising a kid. This one at least had a cohesive story and structure

LMAO
i don't get it

Shills out in force with this shit.

Tom Cruise btfo

nobody is shilling Nathans productions because Nathan's work has been loved on here for years, its organic

The US is at least 200 years ahead of everyone else. Let that sink in

Yep, all day every single day

still uses wheels

What should it use instead? Legs? Sleds?

It should just crash land

Ironic because this looks like one of those AIslop webms until it gets to Nathan leaning froward lmfao

I live near the Air Force Academy and get to see cool planes all the time flying around. It's pretty neat. Rarest thing I've seen were a fleet of Hueys flying around. The Blue Angels will be here for the graduation this week. I love planes, bros.

Its kind of an awkward shot the way he has to move is face from behind the gap between the windows. They could have moved in to a better angle and just zoomed in on the cockpit.

And then you clip high tension powerlines in low visibility and crash into a San Diego suburb because you can't find the private airport landing strip and the tower is off duty lmao

I love planes, bros.

woahhhh the camera heckin ZOOMED IN???? now this is next fucking level cinematography

Explain how they zoomed in that much without losing fidelity.

Flying is all fun and games until you take off in VFR conditions fly into IMC and end up in a graveyard spiral.

it's actually filmed in reverse, because it's easier to get the jet to fly backwards than to get that shot

So crashing that plane, with no survivors?

now that's a punch line

i thought the same. I hope he's not gonna give her some unearned redemption arc

Either they started zoomed in and reversed the footage, or they had a competent focus puller.

theranos confirmed the most elaborate nathan for you plan so far

This must be why Airbus is the worlds largest maker of Commercial Planes and Helicopters.

What does that have to do with what I said? Anon asked if the shot was real, whatever that means. I said yes. They really filmed Nathan flying a 737.
And yes it’s a private plane, the show already mentioned that.
