Have you guys ever seen that one movie where the MC spent his formative years being quietly attracted to his BPD stepmother, who his father married as soon as she graduated from high school, and would randomly alternate between being extremely loving and borderline flirtatious with him, and being explosively angry with little to no provocation, doing everything in her power to belittle and humiliate him in whatever way was possible, and he eventually grew his teens, adulthood, and then middle-age with crippling anxiety and depression, and daily struggles with self-image and rejection issues that led him to not even bother seeking any sort of human companionship, let alone romantic relationships, so most of his waking life not spent at work is at home alone. That was a weird one.
