At one point did you realize it was slop? For me it was when the reserved black manager guy started dancing like a professional dancer for no reason.
At one point did you realize it was slop...
I stopped watching it when I realize the main guy is doing a Tom Cruise impression.
when they revealed his wife is actually still alive and is the therapist it became hack shit
Before season 2 came out they announced season 3. Didn't even want to watch season 2 if they're just dragging it out.
I could not get thru S1EP1.
Just instantly cringed and knew it was garbage.
stopped watching here and I haven't watched it again since
le meme for the thousand'tdh time
mom i posted it again
For me it was the gay romance between Turturro and Walken, I can't tolerate forced gay shit (I'm not American).
The gay old dude
I had a bad feeling about it at Episode 1 of Season 2 and by Episode 3 I knew Season 2 was going to be shit
Last couple of episodes of season 1 when I realised they didn't have the vision to take the concept anywhere interesting.
I genuinely don't know how they could make anything decent out of the third season after this ending
idk either it seemed like the best ending possible
I expect it will just be more worldbuilding lore garbage about the autismo religion and pointless tedious explanations about what they were actually doing with Gemma
It should've just been Office Space but sci-fi
I really don't care about the mystery aspect of it desu
The start of S2. Plot resets are always retarded.
First 3 episodes of Season 1 was the peak of the show
It truly was egregious.
i marathoned the teaser and i was dissapointed.
when everything basically reset to nothing in the first episode of season 2, it was obvious it was just another LOST endlessly baiting with the promise of something interesting, but never delivering.
He's a gay black guy, it'd be weird if he couldn't dance like that.
The S2 Cobel episode was also AWFUL.
Whichever episode had peteys daughter in like a punk band about a company they didn't like. And then you never see her again.
Also when Mark outie started dating that one woman he had no chemistry with. It's officially slop when it's an obvious diversity hire but they didn't bother to have her be attractive or charming in any perceptible way.
She looks like my friends wife but with old people makeup and smooshed down and so it's hard to take the sounds coming out of her mouth or faces she makes seriously.
Also she talks like Frasier. The whole show is bad news with her in it. In episodes without her it feels like a car alarm down the street finally stopped beeping.
Also when Mark outie started dating that one woman he had no chemistry with
But that relationship failed
Thats not Tom Cruise?
It isnt slop. But it falls into the same trap that any mystery show falls. They have bad writers who cant think past their arm reach.
It's the guy from that office show about a park.
shallow and pedantic
Oh, that show!
what a bunch of insufferable cunts. you couldn’t pay me to watch this garbage
the goats in S1
About the start of season 2.
that's actually the joke of the show though
S2E04 honestly
half way thru s2e1... show fell hard fast.
I never started watching it so I guess I always knew
This is when it officially jumped the shark. I still cant believe they did this.
its bad on purpose
I dont find it that it was a jumping the shark moment but it was a big moment were they cemented that they dont write good worldbuilding.
Honestly i would made it that MS Colbel and Milchik were Innies the whole time. But the whole town episode made this impossible.
Some time during season 1. I noticed once they set up the premise, they just didn't do anything with it.
my only dissappointment was that season 2 wasn't more kino eerie office escapades, it should have been based around more exploration within the maze of corridors, and introducing more characters from other departments
The fear of the dark is effective because we don't know what's out there, so explaining everything about the severance procedure and how it was invented makes the story less interesting, not more.
I feel like the writers fell into the trap of wanting to explain stuff that is better left unexplained.
no one cares who came up with severance or how, we just want more dynamic innie vs outie slices of life with bizarre office experiences
I think Season 2 just thought it had to dial everything up to 11 it began losing its style. Suddenly characters are having sex everywhere. We have actual character deaths and giant rude bullies who almost kill the MC. Everyone is so emotionally intense, we see that weird Asian womans romantic backstory and its of course super disturbing. Now we have entire armies of dancers and guys with riot shields. People talking to themselves from across dimensions and arguing with themself lol.
It was too intense and not very whimsical anymore.
Left unexplained? I think that it is explained but in a rather bland way that proposes a boring follow up on this fact.
i miss this little gremlin like you wouldn't believe
Season 2 was terrible, the whole thing could have been condensed into like 2 or 3 episodes. The setup for season 3 is ripe with potential though, but given that they shat the bed so hard with season 2, I have zero faith that they'll be able to take advantage of that setup.
What needs to happen is essentially a cold war between the innies which have taken complete physical possession of the Lumon building, and the outside world at large. The innies now hold hundreds if not thousands of hostages in the form of their outies, and the world is going to learn of their grievances. Lumon would obviously try some shadow ops while simultaneously putting on a public face of sympathy for what's happened. The government needs to get involved as well, Lumon doesn't control the country, they're just a private company. This has basically become the sort of shitstorm that should be on every private citizen's TV around the clock as the news covers all the latest developments.
Simultaneously, the main characters are free to go exploring around the Lumon building and find all sorts of wacky things. Maybe there's some sort of black project that the higher ups at Lumon are terrified of them finding and so they send in some assassins, maybe they've injected a few "innies within innies" that they can activate like a sleeper cell. I don't know, but there's so much potential. More than likely, they're going to go all in on shitty romance plots and love triangles or something. I bet by episode 3, Lumon is back in control and it's just the same stupid shit all over again.
