I'd love to see an exit survey of some kind asking people who went to see this why they bought a ticket
Did they just fall for the marketing, did they hear good things about it from a friend, did they see a positive review, did their kid demand to see it etc

Adult Disney freaks, families, and a memorial day weekend. It got a huge demo

I took my wife to see it. She is a fan. Celebrates 6.26 day in June.
It was not a bad movie.
But it was not as good as the original.
They cut General Gantu and changed Dr. Jumba’s character to replace him. That threw off most of the action in the first half and all of the action at the end. It wasn’t terrible. But you didn’t get the real sense of the raw power and violence that 626/Stitch is capable of.

I was disappointed that since the removed Gantu, they also removed his 3-gun shoot-out from the escape.

Making Nani half white and removing the sunburned white tourist did not bother me.

I wanted to add that since it has been almost 23 years since the original original movie was edited due to 9/11. And again, since the removed Gantu. They should’ve restored the original scene where Stitch hijacks a 747 to chase down the LILO kidnapper.
That was the original conclusion in the first movie and they edited it after 9/11.

sad

May I ask why is Stitch so fucking popular?

That’s only because social media didn’t exist back then and there are a bazillion people more in existence

Rebel personality + cute alien dog

Oh yeah they knew what they were doing

He's basically American Pikachu.

Because he is ugly/cute and is capable of being badass. The badass parts is part of the humor. He could kill Lilo and everyone in Hawaii. But he doesn’t.

The reason why every Hollywood studio exclusively reports their box office success in terms of dollars rather than ticket sales is because inflation is increasing at a faster rate every day.

I'd be interested to see a comparison of tickets sold between the original 2002 version during its opening weekend, and the live-action remake's ticket sales during opening weekend.

inflated ticket sales when people are paying 20 dollars for the Mouse to give you a blow job at the theater

haha thats a good point

Chudbros...I thought Disney was 2 weeks away from going bankrupt.

You sound vaxxed.

they didn't know the message got raped at the end. NOW people know and numbers will drop significantly

Just accounting for inflation The original made just shy of $500,000,000 in 2025 usd.

Yeah the ending in the original lead you to believe that David and Nani get married and raise Lilo like a daughter.
New movie portrays David as a retard, Nani lets some auntie take custody of Lilo and she goes to college so she can ride the cock carousel and come back to settle down with David once she has “found herself” and Lilo is 18

The original didn't do well in the theater, but then again NONE of Disney's animated movies from the late 90's and early 2000's did either (and we're talking other great ones like Atlantis, Treasure Planet, and Emperor's New Groove). These all became beloved classics later on because most parents would just wait for the VHS/DVD and buy it for family movie nights. This live action CGI shitfest is succeeding on the back of how much people loved the original, not because it's good or better. Disingenuous Disney shills deserve the firing squad.

Yeah Nani lets Lilo stay with a nice and caring old lady while she's not home instead of two gay aliens

live action is here to stay, animation doesn't sell.

A lot are seeing it because a lot of them saw the original animation as kids however.

Mental illness. It's a movie for kids and all you can think about is how Nani will become a slut sucking million cocks.

Fun character that appeals to both girls and boys, with an iconic design.

The show was really good.
I dislike Stitch but he's basically a less annoying, more cute and "pettable" Tazmanian Devil

Now lets factor in inflation.

yes, it's time to look up "lilo and stitch inflation" on google

Eh, he is kind of the original "weird ugly fucks can be the good guys too", lots of kids empathized with that back in the day.

he is not ugly, he's like a wolf where he can go from being cute to murderous scary

He cute

CUNNY

now let's factor in vhs/dvd

that's the one
also why this movie was popular in it's opening weekend
