Scream, Blacula, Scream edition
/hor/ - Horror General
BLEH, motha FUCKA
What's the scariest horror villain or monster?
Hitler, because he was real
My blehgga
Blacula is kino but Blackenstein sucks ass
He said villain or monster.
Drac or Blac?
When I was in high school I didn't know about blackula but I called my black friend "darkula" sometimes and he thought it was funny. I still think "darkula" is a funnier pun than "blackula" is.
Who was in the right?
Do you guys read the source material of a movie just to know the difference and to know which one is better? Pic related were better than their film counterparts and wish they get a proper remake in the future. The Relic should probably get a mini-series so it can include the sequel.
Mornin' Sinners
On principle, I don't read books.
I'll sometimes read short stories, though. I've read a few H.P. Lovecraft stories, including Re-Animator. Also Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
In both cases, the movies get rid of the few black characters that are in the original story.
Imagine Stuart Gordon adapting this to the screen
The negro had been knocked out, and a moment’s examination showed us that he would permanently remain so. He was a loathsome, gorilla-like thing, with abnormally long arms which I could not help calling fore legs, and a face that conjured up thoughts of unspeakable Congo secrets and tom-tom poundings under an eerie moon.

lovecraft was a treasure
And then they were reinvented for the go-go 2000s.
kek, Lovecraft is indistinguishable from a Anon Babble shitpost at times
speaking of unspeakable Congo secrets, are there any shrunken head horrors?
I've been watching youtube videos of people making Vincent Price shrunken apple heads.
A deep shame that every thread on it devolves into a klan meeting
Reanimator is funny to me because since it was originally a serial, every chapter is 1/2 recap. Makes for a jarring read in short story form when not abridged. The racial boxing angle was funny though just in how petty it was.
This is kino
based, thanks.
Violence Voyager
Derrick was the GOAT btw
Final Destination: Bloodlines is coming out in my cinema on Friday. Not sure how.. I think NZ cinemas just makes shit up some times.
Also Clown in a Corn Field is listed as coming out same time. I might even take the afternoon off and go see both back to back.
Get yo BLACK ASS over heya
Someone once said The Ruins had a strong protagonist exactly because it was based on the book. I think that's the benefit of adaptions, they come out less cookie cutter because they're trying to honor the original.
I'm still finding pieces of candy corn in my bed from last October
it's a treat
If the film stayed in this time period it would have been better IMO.
I blew a chance to meet William Marshall in the late 90's, as a artist friend of mine was an actor too and would go to off Broadway readings in NYC and invited me, and I declined. I'm not sure why I did that. Back then Id had always take opportunities.

Huh, weird. Maybe I'll check it out this weekend.
I didn't particularly like The Monkey so hoping this delivers instead.
For me, it's The Blunch Black of Blotre Blame
Wan tells the outlet, “I still have a movie in my head that I would hopefully love to get off the ground one day, but we’ll see. I get fans that reach out to me every now and then, begging us to make a Crooked Man movie. Just as a fan, I would love to do it one day, if I can convince the studio to do so.”
