You’d probably find it a little corny I’m ngl, but the emotional beats hit harder then like 99% of the shit in the MCU
Because they were made by passionate people instead of on a conveyor belt like today. Also this was the early 2000s when Hollywood wasn't afraid of being sincere.
Fun is fun and capeshit can be fun
"Spider-man...was kino...I just couldn't see it..."
Me watching the trilogy for the first time last year after dismissing it for years
Why is this?
All the hidden, and not so hidden, racism
capeslop
grow up
Don't forget the gay jokes
Capeshit movies were their own thing back then, it was more sincere. They weren't annual products shat out like Fifa or Asscreed building up towards a big event.
Yeah it's the only kino capeshit next to Netflix Daredevil.
Just watch Spider-Man 2 and see it for yourself
Raimi's Spider-Man IS Gen-Z nostalgia, and they are kino, you fag
t. born in '97.
I really needs to give Daredevil a rewatch. The first season was so good
He's probably alpha, though most behaviors negatively attributed to zoomers are for those that never caught the first Spiderman while it was new
Because it got heart, and even if Spider-Man 3 wasn't as good as the other, it was an ending.
90% of capeshit won't ever end, and when it does it's because the last movie (that was setting up more sequels) didn't make enough money
Yes and it's so much better than the new dogshit from Marvel.
Quite literally the only good superhero movies. The other would be Blade I and II but I don't really count them towards that as they are more vampire oriented
The ending is that Peter and MJ finally get married and have Mayday together. And eventually he retires or their daughter takes over or something. Or that's just how I imagine it.
Jesus this scene is cringe as fuck
t.flyover
Because he treats them like actual films, not disney rides
I rewatched 3 recently, and despite it being considered the worst, its actually really enjoyable through and through. It is corny for sure, but at no point is it really boring, as opposed to the holland ones
Peter Parker was fatally shot one day before retirement. MJ fell into a depression and killed herself before finding a new rich boyfriend. She lived happily ever after.
Salute to post 9/11 NY patriotism. What’s a matter Anon, Indian much?
It makes you care about the characters. Peter is a very likeable character, you root for him. He's also flawed, which makes him relatable. He's an actual character, not just some quipping puppet. And the stories are more "grounded" compared to newer capeslop. No fucking multiverse bullshit. No endless references and crossovers. And Raimi has his own unique flair that isn't just the same copy-pasted MCU borefest.
Modern capeslop is just indian tier cgi puppets having overly long fights, quipping, travelling through multiverse portals and making references.
I thought Peter killed MJ cos of his spider jizz?
imagine not growing up with raimi spiderman
t. 2001 zoomer
killed herself before finding a new rich boyfriend
MJ is undead?
he gradually turns into a spider as he gets older like the kafka novel but slower. then he eats MJ and dies of despair after finding out she still owed him 20 bucks.
Because just like Batman, Spider-Man is an extremely popular character that does well in all media and everyone loves them regardless if they read comics or not. Ninja Turtles are the same. You can ask any Joe Blow to name 10 Batman villains, 10 Spider-Man villains, and maybe even 10 TMNT villains and they'll probably be able to do it. Also, the Spider-Man trilogy came out before "capeshit" was really an issue. No one outside of comicbook readers really gave a shit about Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, or Captain America. The MCU made people care about those characters because they were all interconnected. Spider-Man and Batman can exist inside their own universes and be wildly successful, the other comic book characters cannot. It also helped that there were a shit ton of Batman and Spider-Man games and cartoons, same with X-Men. That's probably why those characters are eternal.
Cause they Christian
Up up and away, web!
raimi spider man was for millennials. we were teenagers when they came out. Gen z spider man is the mcu shit.
Is there a worse fate?
They're sincere
blade is technically capeshit
Whats the one thing no modern superhero movie is actually about? I would say theyre so focused on ironic humor and meaningless bullshit they miss the point that it should be focused on honor, self sacrifice, the greater good, and yes responsibility. Being a hero isnt fun, you lose a personal life and invertedly hurt everyone around you but you do it because it has to be done. And thats what this movie focuses on, it shows being spiderman can be fun at times when hes web swinging, but he pays for it, and we know its important because of his uncles last words and their last interaction. Meanwhile MCU spiderman doesnt learn any of this until the third movie in.
Nah youre working backwards from your conclusion and trying to force it. First spiderman comic has him begging the fantastic four for money, you were introduced to him via the raimi movies or some cartoon so you build your perception off that. And its really not the same with the xmen, the idea that they only make sense isolated is still easy to explain. Whats the difference between spiderman and a mutant? Well mutants randomly blow up and your kid could turn into one and randomly blow up. There I solved it for you. There was an old iron man cartoon and old captain america and thor cartoon, they were well known enough to have cartoons and there was a captain america 90s movie as well as beloved hulk tv show that had a Thor special episode. just because you didnt know them you build your perception off that.
Didn't MJ cheat in all three movies?
This, Zack Snyder's DC movies actually touched on this a bit. That being a superhero was rather thankless and only those with a strong moral compass would willingly do it and do it regularly.
Because it was Sam Raimis interpretation of the Spider-Man comics he read as a kid.
True
Lies. Jessica Jones is kino, not tard devil.
Based actually. You're brown and lame.
She did not. In the third film, Harry forced her to at gunpoint so it doesn't count. She would never cheat on Pete.
Gen-Z fag
Stopped reading right there. Whatever you like is bad and whatever you dislike is good, it's that simple.
Jessica Jones
never saw it based on the lead's annoying face
Wasn't there also a message about how hopeless the cause of superheroes was or did I just misinterpret Batman v Superman?
Capeslop before 2008 and after 2008 are different. With the former you could enjoy every single bit of them, watch the slop with your artkinnoseure frens, and you can see it as a normal flick; with the latter, you can see the trace of reddit being everywhere, product as consumption and not entertainment, and the söyest shit you could ever imagine
Imagine being born and not remembering life before 9/11.
Bright blue eyes + thin lips = peak white beauty
SAAR
Raimi Spiderman
Smallville
Daredevil
Those are my kinos
They all have beautiful rain scenes btw Romance is very important in a superhero genre
No
She never did in fact
It was Peter who first cheated on her in SM3 which is why I hated that movie when I first saw it as a kid. The entire storyline seemed cruel to me.
t. had dreams as a kid of kissing my first crush/love like the rain kiss
X2: X-Men United, First Class, and Days of Future Past are all excellent movies. Yes, I know Bryan Singer is a faggot jew nonce, but despite being a total freak, the man knows how to make a good movie.
cringe
Average New Yorker: Get off that fucking skateboard you faggot, cant you see that asshole is trying to save those kids and that cute bitch!?
Sam Raimi Spider-Man films are kino despite being capeshit?
Yes
Im technically gen z, and these movies were a core part of my childhood.
People forget that anyone born after like 95 is gen z and say zoomers won't remember stuff from the 2000s.
They were made by people who actually wanted to make them instead of being mass produced by the Mouse and they have absolutely fantastic casts. Also they're really violent by capeshit standards. Not Blade violent, but more violent than anything you'd have seen from 2009 onwards. Spider-Man 1 in particular has violence Disney would never allow.
Just watch them. The suit is amazing compared to pretty much every other capeshit costume. It just pops. Even if 3 was sorta a mess it had absolutely great scenes like Peter throwing the pumpkin bomb back into his best friend's face and feeling smug about it.
t. had dreams as a kid of kissing my first crush/love like the rain kiss
As in you were upside down? In a costume?
X2: X-Men United
The opening sequence alone is better than anything Disney has made. The raid on the mansion and Logan's subsequent tard rage murder spree? Chef's kiss.
I actually had forgotten about the X-Men films. I really should do a pre-disney capekino watch
Yeah. Most Spider-Man media to this day tries to imitate the magic of the Raimi trilogy, only to fail every single time.
The films of Raimi are the cinematic equivalent to Ditko creating and working with Spider-Man. No one has being capable of doing a better job.
idk I haven’t seen them since they were in theater.
