Was fighting the Japs as hellish as it’s portrayed?

Was fighting the Japs as hellish as it’s portrayed?

In high school we’re taught about the 60 Gorillian but we are seldom taught about the pacific.

IMG_2875.jpg - 879x461, 391.45K

The elements were the worst enemy.

Strategic bombing and submarines did the heavy lifting.

The main reason the Japanese lost the war was because they weren’t circumcised

It was hot, sweaty, and the Japs were merciless barbarians. Imperial Japan was nothing like the repressed autist nation it is today. They were lunatics who chimped out on their neighbours once a month.

That’s incredibly racist, you should feel ashamed.

UnIronically if no Jews were involved in WW2 it wouldn't be taught in schools at all.

It's not taught in Japan either btw.

Despite what movies potray, the americans were much more happy to be killing japs than germans. Since they directly attacked their people after the great depression. They even collected skulls of dead soldiers and sent them to their wives.

The largest war in human history is only taught in schools because of da jooz

Fucking listen to yourself.

Will always be the best CoD campaign

Refused to pull punches when showing the Pacific or Eastern Front

Mission briefings have shots of real executions and mass graves mixed in for flavor

Opening of the first mission is literally seeing the Japs slit the throat of your fellow prisoner before the Marines can rescue you

How much do you know about WW1?

The answer is nothing. What do you know about WW2? Literally only what happened on the western front.

WW2 also started long before 1939, but you wouldn't know that either ; )

Rami Malek

can't stand him

Was fighting the Japs as hellish as it’s portrayed?

Yes. Illiterate farmers and fishmongerers handed weapons and basic training and radicalised through the idea of bushido and "muh honor" meant that all Japs thought they were all the main characters of their own head canon anime as badass second-coming of samurai warriors.

There will never be another naval war that will match the battles between the Imperial Japanese Navy and the USN, and it saddens me.

The upcoming PLAN vs USN skirmish for Taiwan in 2027is going to last like 3 days before both run out of juice and will be forgotten a week later.

How much do you know about WW1?

A lot. It was a main topic in high school history for a term.

The answer is nothing

See above.

What do you know about WW2? Literally only what happened on the western front.

I was taught about the eastern and western fronts, Africa, and the pacific theatre.

WW2 also started long before 1939, but you wouldn't know that either ; )

I was taught about the gorillionth sino-jap war too. Bonus round I was also taught about Korea and Vietnam.

If you're gonna be smug you should probably do it when you aren't completely wrong.

The allies in the pacific (The US and Australia) were utterly unprepared to fight a war against an opponent who didnt fight like a German. Germans were thought of as machine-like and cold but honorable and operated conventional military standards. The Imperial army however was decentralized and barbarous in comparison, every single day was another Unit 731.

be amerimutt

get btfo’d early on in the Pacific War

constantly need to outman and outgun the enemy just to capture tiny, insignificant islands

can only win the war by nuking civilians like terrorists

still seethe about Pearl Harbour 80 years later

japan pepe 2.jpg - 797x800, 105.94K

Okay, Chang

dude this game was so underrated. I remember blowing arms and limbs off with the double barrel shottie. It's insane how underrepresented japanese side is in ww2 media. Such a good basis for stuff.

>can only win the war by nuking civilians like terrorists

In our defense we didn't know our le bomb would le kill people

call of goyslop

I already decided that if I ever get to astral project time travel, I want to astral project time travel to legendary pacific naval battles
Hell, I would rewind each battle and rewatch it from the perspective of every ship crew and air squadron involved

muh 731

did netflix or some eceleb brought this up again into the general normalfag NPC conciousness?

You sound like a retard
Shut up you uneducated nigger

chimped out

Faggots who use this phrase to describe historical events should be gassed and their remains incinerated to ashes.

Look up any books about the Bougainville Campaign. The Pacific war was fucking brutal for both sides.

You were wrong

They were fighting for anime. Think about it, if we never nuked them we'd never have gotten anime and therefore we never would have had Anon Babble.

This anon is chimping out at people who say chimp out

this meme again

Anime has been around since the early 20th century. Japan made propaganda anime during the war ffs

Yeah

Over the course of the Second World War, the U.S. Army recorded about 17 million hospital admissions globally for illness or accident, versus about a million combat casualties. Indeed, in the early days of the war, the Allied armies experienced about 100 casualties from heat or disease for every combat casualty.

It must've been more hellish to be fighting the Americans and Reds.

endless bombings

endless artillery strikes

endless hordes of infantry

start a Total War

aaahhhh the enemy is bringing its full industrial and population capacity against my shitty little islands aiieeee how could this happen to me

I accept your concession.

They shouldn't have attacked pearl harbor but america got in the way of their chink killing so meh

It is, but there it's just known as The War of Western Aggression.

Please just stop. Japanese were bloodthirsty aadists throughout their history and don't even hide that.
It's not "muh six gorrilions", cunteyes are truly human.

Got any more? Always felt this shit was as fake as the camps.

Ironic because America fought the most in the Pacific while the soviets defeated the nazis. America's main objective in Europe wasn't to defeat Hitler but to stop Stalin from taking the entire continent

nips regularly committed war crimes by targeting medics, booby trapping corpses, torturing and executing prisoners of war, and fake surrendering. they set the tone of the war. maybe the usa greased a few pows in the moment, can you blame them? the fighting was hard too, the nips were dug into the caves and tunnels and so the flamethrower saw extensive use in the pacific

you speak on this with the same tone as someone speaking on the mass execution of problem vermin in land management. These were fellow human beings…sad

get mad the based Nippon doesn't acknowledge BLM

make video game about groid as a Japanese Samurai

find out nobody wants to play that shit

suddenly care about WWII Pacific Theater

Literally no one was gloating about Japan being atomic bombed until the Japs rightfully ignored woke faggotry.

They would capture people and cut off their dicks and shove their dicks in their mouths to fuck with soldiers. The type of shit polite society would've talk about and thus was largely unspoken of until most of those vets were near death.

This is one that they always get wrong in media and probably will forever now.
We didn’t called the Germans “natzees” we just called them “the germans” or Jerry
We DID call the japanese “fucking stinking cocksucking nipgookslanteyed yellow fuckin monkeys” because they directly attacked us without a formal declaration (ancient sneak attack coward tactic smarr isrand prease understand) nearly destroying one of our two entire fleets and killing a bunch of civilians. Not to mention the shit those guys saw when MacArthur abandoned the Phlips like a fuckin tranny coward. Rorraparooza.

Holy shit this.

In Lecky's book he spends multiple pages/chapters complaining about the constant fucking rain and heat for every page about actual combat.

In Sledge's book the parts that stuck to me most where when he describes the dry dusty heat and coral dust sticking to everything in Peleliu, and how he described Okinawa as this horrific muddy hell hole where you just lived in 3 feet of muddy water day in and day out and every time you moved or got up thousands of maggots and flies would fall out of your clothes.

Mud is the real eternal nightmare of warfare.

there were no mass executions done by the usa. the nips acted like savages though despite this there was never a policy from the top to commit war crimes unlike the nip government that even encouraged their people to commit to mass suicide

well of course a marine wouldn't have much to write about except hopping abandoned islands since the army did most of the heavy lifting in the pacific

main character syndrome

I think you’re right, never really thought it was like that outside of their officers bickering like children and taking shit from subordinates. I was naive enough to assume it was genuine devotion to empra but no, always the ego. Every motherfucker wants to be Naruto.

IMG_3024.jpg - 400x400, 32.52K

It's hilarious when redd*t fags try to posture as tough guys stealing valor from men just five minutes ago they were denouncing as horrid racists.

Yep, and yet the Marines and Navy get all the credit for beating the Japs.

Sucks to suck lmao.

“Why can’t we get any fuckin water?”
Dehydration sucks, especially when sneaky niggers are trying to slit your throat in the dark.

REMINDER that Japan would never have attacked America if not for the Russo-japanese war shortly prior

Chase off a small Russian fleet

Government makes this such a guide deal that they distribute illustrations of a Russian soldier getting ass raped

"Hey, guess we can beat white people lol"

Pearl harbor

Well would you rather be freezing cold getting shot at or sweaty and hot with bugs all over the place getting shot at?

Imagine trying to fight a battle in that sweltering heat. If the fighting didn't kill you some disease probably would.

We didn’t called the Germans “natzees” we just called them “the germans” or Jerry

They have to pretend that the allied soldiers were motivated by '''''''anti-fascism'''''' instead of good old nationalism.
Because in the modern zeitgeist nationalism is badwrongevil but the powers-that-be know that painting the WW2 generation as badwrong is the one thing they'll never be able to do. So they have to convince people that 1940s allied soldiers totally had modern contemporary liberal views guys for reals.

None of the soldiers in America or Britain gave a shit about fAsCiSm invading Poland & France. They cared about *GERMANS* invading Poland & France.
It was the allies own sense of nationalism that drove to fight against German nationalism. Not a sense of anti-nationalism in general which is what modern propagandists would have you believe.

The Soviet soldiers may have had more of an ideological motivation than most, but mainly of the "they're not communist so we hate them" flavour rather than "they're fascists so we hate them" flavour.

ww2 soldiers.png - 800x852, 54.32K

The pacific was actually quite a slow moving theater up until the end of the war with Iwo Jima and Okinawa. There was months of sitting around and doing fucking nothing.

In all fairness, Japan did the "sneak attack to destroy the enemies fleet" thing on China during the first Sino-Japanese war as well. Hell, I think they did that shit to Korea too at one point. It worked every time the Japs tried it prior to Pearl Harbor and the only reason it didn't work at Pearl was poor planning, bad intel, and worse luck.

I’ll go die at Monte Cassini full of wine and cheese but you do you, pal

Neither were Americans during WW2

That campaign was so GOATED I don’t even consider it a proper Call of Duty since no other COD game has a campaign that dark.

Ever seen Shiguri Death Frenzy?

I feel like Black Ops got close, but still isn't quite at the same level.

World at War hits different I think because it's basically just real history, while other CoD games are very loosely based on real events and mostly just made up.

Sitting around and waiting for the navy to do their thing. Better than being IN the USN in the pacific. I’ll take mud over burning to death.

You gonna draft dodge in WW2 you coward?

most nazis were extremely cowardly backstabbers. Very few died with dignity or didn't rat out their comrades for a better deal. Even those who later killed themselves like Goring and Himmler backstabbed Hitler hard and tried to strike a better deal with the Allies in exchange. Keep in mind that the star of the SS and "Hitler's favorite commando" Otto Skorzeny became a Mossad hitman and killed escaped Nazis for the Israeli regime.

Another fun fact: Of the 16 million German men who served in the Wehrmacht and SS in WW2 12 million surrendered and Germany never had a relevant post-occupation resistance movement of any kind when even places like Ethiopia and Albania managed to have one

The only other occupied state with this level of subservience was Japan, but that at least had their deified Emperor tell them to stand down. Hitler meanwhile told the Germans to fight to the last, and they all ignored it and collaborated with their occupiers to the fullest extent possible

does this television show and/or film accurately portray this?

Only 1 US soldier was executed in WW2 for draft-dodging, desertion, or cowardice.

For Britain, the number was 4

For Germany, the number was 90,000

rly makes me think.

the losing side is more desperate for soldiers and suffers more desertion

yes rly makes me think
The Red Army executed 158,000 for it.

god men now are such puss bags

supposedly unpopular regime didn't even execute 2:1 more soldiers than muh beloved Hitler despite raising 5x as many soldiers.

state fact that allied soldiers weren't motivated by anti-fascism

spastic blurts out irrelevant copypasta in response that doesn't refute it at all

Okay retard

It also wasn't the losing side you dipshit. They were WINNING and still executed 158,000.
I'm saying your comparisons between nations is pointless because they were all operating under different conditions. Fucking retard.

why didn't the germans stand and fight and follow orders if nazism was so popular?

No Jap ever called me Chud.

I’ll jus run off ta pappy’s farm like I used to. All sorts of shit ta kill n eat out there without risk of getting kilt back. Who you gonna send, lawman? All yer boys are off fightin in hell lmaooo

They probably called you a Gaijin behind your back though

For some reason my favorite gun was the Springfield bolt action. The gun shot noise was just so satisfying. And it was a one shot kill.

IMG_1628.jpg - 600x325, 59.46K

I was one of the finest Medal of Honor: Allied Assault players in the world.
For me, it was the Kar98k.

There's a History Channel series WWII in HD that's all accounts and color film of battles the US was in, iirc it's actually mostly Pacific theater battles.

Remember the episode on Guadalcanal where the Japs mutilate lost Americans, and with the night battle (battle of the Tenaru) when morning comes there's a fuck ton of bodies starting to rot along the river? It's not an exaggeration to say real footage of that stuff is an order of magnitude more disturbing and visceral; it's real. not a production.

Not that anon and I do think he's retarded but I will say that I learned almost nothing about WW1 in American public schools, basically nothing.

The real criminal part is how little we focused on the American civil war given how important it is to our current state of affairs. There was an AP class for it but very little was taught in the normal curriculum beyond the generic beats.
