Timecrimes (Los cronocrimenes)
Alatriste
El Pico (1983)
Honestly most spanish films seem made by spaniards and for spaniards, so if you're not from the country you may not like them that much. That's the feeling I get at least
I really recommend Alatriste, it's the easier one to watch
are there any kinos about the Civil War? or any films made during Franco's dictatorship?
Pan's Labyrinth
While at War (Mientras Dure la Guerra)
any films made during Franco's dictatorship?
Yeah, propaganda. You're not gonna find much of value I think. There's Luis Buñuel but I never watched any of his work
Apocalipsis Z: el principio del fin
Un monstruo viene a verme
Wolfgang (extraordinario)
Nevermind I misunderstood, I was thinking about films while the war was taking place
But yeah I don't know much about films made during Franco either
Are there any good pro Franco movies out there? Most movies portray Spanish fascism as the worst thing ever but considering he gave up power voluntarily and Spain went back to democracy it seems like one of the nice dictatorships of the 20th century.
Cría Cuervos
Chuds are too stupid to make good movies.
he gave up power voluntarily and Spain went back to democracy it seems like one of the nice dictatorships of the 20th century.
Lmao you couldn't be more wrong. Look up Luis Carrero Blanco who was supposed to be Franco's successor
Any pro Franco movies are probably shitty literal propaganda financed by his government. You're not going to find any honest and well made modern movies about Franco being good, and even less considering almost every spanish director is a leftie
a lot of the best ones are already said but I'd add anything but Carlos Saura, especialy La caza.
Any older horror classics? I know Italy was the main horror producer at that time but surely they made some kino as well
La noche de walpurgis is the beginning and the end of Spanish horror. There are some other titles like Tombs of the Blind Dead, but this is really the pinnacle. Ultimo Deseo is good if you're a big Night of the Living Dead Fan. El caminante is not really a horror movie but damn I love Paul Naschy so much.
Red Squirrel
Matador
looks awesome, thanks anon
Franco refused to deport spanish jews to german camps, collaborated with the Allies in Operation Torch, sent evidence against the nazis at the Nuremberg trials, de facto joined (((NATO))), then got aid from Israel to fight the Moroccans in the 1960s.

What are some kinos that explains why Spain is now a feminist-ridden shithole full of Moroccans and Colombians?
Mixing moors and colombians.
We get the ones that come to work on plane, american immigrants are far better than anything that comes from Morocco and Argelia. Hell, Colombia is less of a mafia ridden shithole.
kinos that explains why
None, really. Lefty films were something else before Soros bought the current government, so much that the "old school" (up to 2013 or so) lefty film makers are completely hated by the drones, and those that survived are still more successful than the films getting the gov money now.
Maybe you can try 8 apellidos marroquíes; first one is 8 apellidos vascos, which was a massive success because it was simultaneously mocking politics and romanticism, but also playing them straight; second was 8 apellidos catalanes, that was shit, crashed and burned, then the government payed with our taxes part 3.
Trying to learn Spanish from spaniards is like trying to learn English from brits, if not from the irish.
Thats kinda grim, Spainbro. I hope for better days for you guys. It seems that only a revolution can save you.
Un Franco, 14 Pesetas
El Caballero Oscuro Asciende (2012)
The kinography of Víctor Erice

Almodovar filmography.
I like Javier Fesser (Mortadelo y Filemón and El Milagro de P. Tinto are surreal kinos, Campeones is good too, it got a Hollywood remake with Woody Harrelson and Sweet Dee a couple years ago).
Alex De la Iglesia is decent too even if he makes too many movies which means a lot of them are bad. Acción Mutante, El Dia de la Bestia, Balada Triste de Trompeta, Brujas de Zugarramurdi and 800 Bullets are good. Perfectos Desconocidos is not great but I think picrel is very hot.
I guess Almodovar too if you dont mind the gays, roasties and troons.
La Isla Minima is a decent detective movie in a really cool setting.
Spirit of the Beehive is the greatest Spanish language film ever made.
Timecrimes.
Watch El Milagro de P.Tinto as a young lad
Believe the mother was pissed due to blindness, lack of children, and being a woman in general.
rewatch it as an adult
Oh good Lord. I don't remember that part. It all makes so much sense now.
Also, fullhouse of negroes-chinks
