The term as OP is using it used wrong. Black coded is when the author intentionally gives a character black traits, like AAVE, or Jamaican dreadlocks, or other culturally significant markers that say “this character is black”. The Predator is Black Coded. Knuckles is black coded. The alien from Enemy Mine is black coded. Elmo is not.

What OP is doing is called headcanon. None of those characters were coded black but black people are culture thieves who need to feel represented and “claim” characters.
