Finally, freedom

*CHRONIC BACK PAIN BLOCKS YOUR PATH*

Humans were meant to be physically active, not sitting on your ass all day

There’s no job for me out there. I’m not a team player. It’s over. I just want to pick apples and shit and throw them in a box without having to talk to anyone.

There's a difference between healthy physical activity and literally breaking down your body

you have to have healthy physical activity

Nooooooooooo not like that!

do what you do buddy. i dont wanna tell you how to live your life

Construction is a kino job though

My dad was a welder. He retired at 56, he's almost blind now. I was supposed to take my welding certification back then but he discouraged me from taking it, told me go on a different path.

healthy physical activity

construction

bro living in 200

literally breaking down your body

ohhh the drama!

too bad all your coworkers are illiterate idiots

That's completely his own fault. There have been auto darkening shades for decades but even shade 3 glasses would have saved him. What he could not have prevented, however, is chronic heavy metal exposure.

Yes. Students wouldn't understand. Being a man feels good.

No. Their mind just isn't wasted on worthless information. They are capable. Good company.

you say this, but you've spent 20 hours on Anon Babble this past week

The real lesson here is that there is no ideal job for the working-class man, and every job has its downsides.

I have switched careers a few times now, and I am currently in an office environment where people complain about how cold the AC is and how low-quality the cafeteria food is. The coworkers I get along with the best used to work in construction and auto repair, and these guys equally appreciate how nice it is to not sweat your ass off from dawn the dusk and have access to complementary food whenever they want.

so you should understand that when your issues are

it's slightly cold

and

my free food isn't good enough

and

my coworkers complain a lot

you have a very cushy job
whereas when they are

i burned my skin today

oh there's my tinnitus

cold water ahh and reynaud's

ugh my back hurts

cough cough

early onset dementia

you have a not-comfy job

Work in child care for a bit and you'll understand why so many women dominate that field even when they're 9 times out of 10 less active than any male child care workers. Men did not evolve to work in a cubicle. I worked shit retail for ages until I switch to nanny and babysitting jobs, but I'd never do institutions or office work myself because of the stanky pussy energy involved in all of that garbage. I'd rather do real work than be some superfluous peon who has to survive by stabbing co-workers in the back or gossiping about some karen bullshit with a pack of ravenous women who complain about existing with other women who look prettier than them.

He didn’t feel fulfilled in his office job. He didn’t like the staid, corporate atmosphere. It didn’t suit him, he felt suffocated. Blue collar work has its downsides, and it’s not for everyone, but it suited him better and made him much happier. The point was that you probably have to have a shitty job, but you should try to find one that is as life-affirming for you as possible, if you can.

They should have kept the original ending

Precisely. Acknowledging that there are worse jobs out there is not the same as truly understanding how worse jobs can be.

i do agree if your sentiment is everyone should work a shit job so they appreciate a good one
if everybody knew how awful work can be they wouldn't bitch because the water cooler is empty

In countries that utilize conscription, they are basically mandated to work a shit job given that military work is almost always worse than its civilian counterpart. In countries that don't conscript their general population, there is no ethical way to force people to work an undesirable job. It definitely does show in a person's character, and all of the best people I have worked with across multiple industries had to work a truly miserable job due to circumstances beyond their control.

office work destroys you from the inside, blue collar from the outside. office workers are like henpecked husbands

what if you work at a gay bar

cool i would rather go with henpecked than a broken body and heavy metal poisoned mind
moreover this is bullshit anyway
as someone who has worked a blue collar job, sometimes you have to put up with a lot of bullshit and have a faggot constantly hovering over you waiting to complain about the slightest thing
i've had to sit through "toolbox talks" where we get lectured at for twenty minutes because chief dickhead found a bit of welding slag on the floor last night and that just wont do on this outdoors construction site in a field where they're still doing foundations and there is crap everywhere

I used to work at a gay bar as a straight guy. I honestly preferred it over working with women.

Apple picker just so happens to be a job.

i feel the same. im taking my own life soon

hola amigo

Most construction workers are high, drunk or both on the job site, some would consider that freedom.

was supposed to end with a shitty construction manager acting the same as his office manager, implying that it was for naught and you get the same shit everywhere

retard producers had it cut

completely loses the final message of the film

he doesn’t get high and sit in a cubicle

Ishiggy

Working with your hands > office work

I've done both and I HATE office settings. Working construction and manufacturing was far more fulfilling and active. It's spending 8 hours a day glued to a desk doing something I hate where the only results I get at the end of the day are a paycheck vs spending 8 hours a day moving things around, building things and engaging in physical labor where I can see my progress at the end. Some people can do the office life and like it, I cannot. It's just mind numbingly boring and sterile

B-but muh injuries

Only happens if you're a goddamn idiot

I wouldn't mind blue collar work if blue collar workers weren't so fucking stupid, vindictive, petty and stubborn. A lot of them legitimately seem 80 IQ

I work from home most of the time

Yeah I've tried a few times and can't stand it. They're like a different species. I was hoping just to find some cool old boomer to apprentice me how to build fences or something but instead it's just wall to wall drug addicts and redneck alcoholics and shit.

no one above 90 IQ would work like a third-worlder

he should have never changed the original ending. it was supposed to be

all work is shit everywhere, its all the same

but he pussied out and chose the ending where construction is somehow the perfect fit for him.

UBI when? fuck working.

stupid, vindictive, petty and stubborn

I've had the opposite experience , office work has bullshit hs level drama and gossip going on while most construction and manufacturing jobs I had were pretty chill but some of them had drinking issues and wouldn't show up to work due to being hung over . Worst job was kitchen work though, which has the worst of both worlds

really great contribution you're making there, thanks for that. you must have a very high IQ to add so much to the discussion

struck a nerve?

It's spending 8 hours a day glued to a desk doing something I hate where the only results

listen to radio/music/podcasts. the meme

oh my stars office work is so unfulfilling!!!!!

is retarded. i pretend to do work, listen to podcasts for 8 hours and go home. much better than busting my ass in a warehouse or outside or dealing with retarded customers.

hi indian

listen to radio/music/podcasts

You do the same in construction and manufacturing most of the time. Especially manufacturing. I like to do actual work not pretend to do work and actually gain some valuable skills or make something with what I'm doing

Dealing with retards customers

Lol what office work were you doing where you didn't have to deal with retarded customers? IT team at a company?

what are you some retard that can only conceptualize something if its put into lego blocks right in front of you? you have to be retarded to choose the back breaking work over a nice AC environment where you can not work and get paid to listen to music for 8 hours browsing the web.

Yes, I get annoyed by low quality waste of space posts.

That sounds easy but it doesn't address the charge of 'unfulfilling'

I’m my mother’s stay at home husband-son. It’s beyond pathetic but sexually I’m pretty much an introverted porn-addicted faggot so it all just doesn’t matter. I pretend I’m independent in my head since someone else pays for the things I don’t need to think about. No, this situation doesn’t make me happy and I’m starting to feel emasculated as fuck but I just know deep inside most men wouldn’t mind living like this if they didn’t care about chasing tail. It’s why I’m not even alone in this lifestyle and there’s thousands of more NEETs like this.

waste of space posts

holy reddit

struck a nerve?

Office jobs let you WFH which already btfo any argument blue collar cucks have

hearing the same dick joke for the fourth time this week

good company

Shaggy

the back breaking work

You get a work out while you work, it's a win win. But honestly it's not that back breaking, even basic landscaping which is somewhat physical where you're digging and moving dirt / rocks while planting shit isn't really that difficult unless you're severely out of shape. I'll never understand people who just do several adverse to mild physical work. You're not a wildland firefighter you're just moving stuff around

/thread
inb4

well i dont like to work from home anyways

yes let the bossman cuck you even more from your own time and freedom

You are literally incapable of saying anything interesting huh

I was walking by a creek the other day and heard 'aflac' and heard it again and looked over and some guy in a white van was yelling 'aflac' at the ducks and I was just filled with revulsion at the thought that soon I will have to work with these 'people'

every blue collar job destroys your body

This is such a basement dwelling reddit meme

literally breaking down your body

Topkek, blue collar work isn't some kind of spec ops military gig

work on my feet 9 hours a day in factory

sleep 5 hours a night because I have to get up at 4:46 a.m. to be at work by 6

surrounded by yapping gooks all day

felt numb to reality since June 2020

dick doesn't get hard much anymore

fall asleep at group events

dream every day of a remote job but I missed the boat on that one

ex gf had one, she only make 19 an hour but she had all day to do what she wanted

wish I had that so I could work on my hobbies again

Pretty sure the trick is you have to lift in your free time. I've lifted my whole adult life and I'm mid 30s and do manual labor and have literally zero joint or back pain anywhere inshallah

you seriously need to go back

Agree to work for a guy

Get on site training , get paid, learn a new skill

Lol cuck *jerks off to hentai all day while pretending to do work at home*

What a boring person you must be.

T. Someone who now works from home as his own boss btw

Thank you Trump for finally bringing back factory jobs to the US. I can't wait for me my children to slave away our lives on the assembly line for $25 an hour with no workers rights. God bless Israel!

I have all the time in the world to try to find out ways to make money online but there’s literally millions of ninjers out there trying to do the same thing so what’s the point.

a 4 day work week would solve this.

You have obviously never met a tile guy or drywaller. I wonder if in Europe they have a tighter version of OSHA where Hans Van Farfagnoogen gets better working conditions

Dude go somewhere else what kind of sweatshop are you working at chang?

While it is true that alot of jobs are bullshit, not all of them are. The best job i ever had was at home depot.

What a boring person you must be.

I'm learning an instrument while working from home. You cucks are wasting 2+ hours getting ready for work and driving to and from work.

Must be boring!

Nope. Just somebody that realizes that my own time and everyone's own personal time is invaluable and the less time dedicated to cuck for a boss, the better.

be me 21yo

both of my shoulders pop

my left hip pops

knee has started to hurt

So where did I fuck up exactly? Too much weight? Bad form? This all started after I started lifting in 2022 and I haven't even gotten newbie gains because I didn't understand nutrition my first year of lifting

quit construction because my boss kept trying to get me to fuck his old ugly whore wife

work in an office setting and get a coworker telling me about how him and his girlfriend are in an "open relationship"

I wouldn't mind the work if the people I had to work with weren't so open about their degeneracy

What's a job that pays more than 50k where you're mostly using hand eye coordination, that isn't super stressful/difficult? I'm not looking forward to 30 more years of computer work.

This never happened

faggot

You have obviously never met a tile guy or drywaller

I did landscaping , roofing, insulation, and drywalling bud. None of them are as hard as people think they are. Back breaking work is being an artillery boy in the army or being a wildland firefighter , being a poor fisherman in the 3rd world. Most blue collar work isn't even that physically active. Welders really don't do much but move a few metal objects around and honestly have a bunch of machines that help them, electricians and plumbers just get kind of dirty and sometimes have to deal with bad weather, and most construction and manufacturing gigs are barely that physical at all.

another cliche saying nothing

Please, try activating your brain just a little, for my peace of mind, so I can tell you're human. Say something, anything.

What are your lifts? If you haven't gotten gains and are weak just trying lifting and eating right for a while and that will probably sort itself out

be God

give humans bendable knees and backs so we can reach shit below waist level

but also make it hurt like hell if you do it more than a few times a week

???

“Working” from home doing incredibly gay little spreadsheets or whatever

More comfortable for sure, but working with your hands, doing construction, developing an actual skill, doing something that helps people is and always will be infinitely cooler.

They're getting rid of all the Mexicans, so now's your chance.

office work has bullshit hs level drama and gossip going on

At the office where I used to work, the marketing manager, whom I was dating, had some sort of argument with the new HR girl, and the CEO fired my gf. Both the CEO and my gf tried to explain what happened and I never understood. These were 30 and 50 yo adults with degrees and money lol. Just baffling. Kept working there for several years.

are office space thread the best threads on Anon Babble? always so comfy.

Every son of a blue collar worker gets told to never follow in my footsteps from their father, yet redditors who have never hammered a nail in their life will tell you all day it's actually based and not so bad and it's really comfy!

It's fine up until about age 25 or 30, but it's long difficult hours. you're always tired you're always dirty. only a dipshit could imagine it as cool or "manly" in any way.

at this point in my life i'd rather do retail for half the wage than framing again.

I won't be discussing anything with a redditor. You glow like the sun newfag.

I wish my grandfather wasn’t such a shitter financially so I could inherit sumthin sumthin from him when he passes but oh well. Love him tho.

am I really the only one here who loves office life? Every day is unleaded comfort, and then I can leave and do something active off the clock

office comfy.jpg - 1920x1080, 1.09M

Your brain is literally nothing but incoherent cliches. Might actually be a bot.

Yeah because they're all boomers who have antiquated ideas about 'going to school' and 'getting a good job.' We are talking about reality of life in 2025. I see their kids in college getting BS degrees then low tier retail jobs all the time.

No. It is comfy. Don't let the idiots blabbering about muh hard work and craft fool you. You can do that on your own time.

I love my blue collar job.
Yesterday I drew a giant cock on my buddies tool box and he didn't notice until lunch. He then laughed about it and called me a faggot. If this was an office, some whore would have ran to HR and ratted me out as soon as she saw me with a sharpie.

Depends entirely on the office. There really is no standard office culture

it's you that are talking like a fucking chat gpt you moron
I feel stupid now that I feel for this

Yesterday I drew a giant cock on my buddies tool box and he didn't notice until lunch. He then laughed about it and called me a faggot.

based. Next week you should write racial slurs somewhere half inconspicuous.

Based I mean cringe

You cucks are wasting 2+ hours getting ready for work and driving to and from work.

I work from home as my own boss dude, so no I'm not anymore lol. Like congrats on learning an instrument but I went out to work to learn valuable physical skills so I can build and maintain shit myself I need to , all while making money.

now we get into the 'I earn 6 figures working 3 hours a week from home' part

Im a sparkie with a son and I wouldn't want him to be in the trades. I would rather he find a job that that made him a lot of money, was safe, and allowed him to spend with his family more.
But that line of work may as well be a unicorn, if he really wanted in the trades I would still be happy for him. But I'm not gonna lie to him like all the adults did to my gen growing up and tell him the only path forward is going hundreds of thousands of dollars in student debt for a Finish Folk Dancing University Degree just to work in a cubical.

Yeah, they're old, they've done it for years. Not for a summer like most people who come to the conclusion that it's not actually hard work. I've done almost every low rung labor position of construction and when I was 16-25 it was no big deal and I made tons of money, relative to my peers anyway. But, when you're in your 30s your body literally just doesn't want to do that shit anymore. Even if the squats are weightless it's day in day out. It will break you down 100%.

The only physical construction jobs that are cushy are city jobs / governmnet jobs and ones with really big unions.

We have a black guy from South Africa that works with us who we call The Lion King and I even have the text notification for his number on my phone as the Lion King opening.
He sounds like the "Why r u gae?" interviewer. And ever since he found out we were laughing about that he has been saying it non-stop.

But, when you're in your 30s your body literally just doesn't want to do that shit anymore

Yeah that's why you become a manager like in everywhere else

Work from home computer jobs are the most important jobs in society,

Of course, that's a false dichotomy though. Learn coding you'll make 200k a year! You could easily pay for all or most of college on your own doing construction when you're young, but it shouldn't be the end goal and you shouldn't be stuck there.

I'd tell my son it's a good trade as a means to an end, and you learn a lot of valuable trademanship that absolutely will be useful. But that really you should be a civil engineer, structural engineer, project manager, drafter, subcontractor like your immediate goals should be higher than ever needing to do physical work more than once a day.

If you're set on trading you should be immediately aiming at project manager, superintendent, etc. You want to get away from the hammer as quickly as possible.

Idk, the reddit larping oh I did roofing for a summer when I was 19 it's not so bad is tiresome.

I don't have a job and never will. Mommy and Daddy made me so they are responsible for taking care of me, forever.
I'm 6'2" and 400lbs. I bigger than my mom and my dad. My dad is physically not in great shape due to a bad back so I am able to physically take him if he insists on me moving out. My mom doesn't stand a chance. They have told me a couple times to get a job and move out and I just giggle and say "Your so silly!" I know my mom hates it too but it's their fault for deciding they wanted a child.

How much do you weigh? Not insulting you but I feel like it's relevant information

what's your drive time commute?

encourage you son to be a project manager

Why would you do that to your own son?

when you're in your 30s your body literally just doesn't want to do that shit anymore

There's something wrong with your body

I love these bait threads.

DOES SHE WANNA FUCK ME

I've been doing construction and manufacturing work since I was 18, I'm 27 now and I do still say it's not that hard of a job. At least most of the work isn't, it depends specifically what you're doing and who you're working for. Even then the much more physical stuff isn't for the older , that's true, but I still know a bunch of welders in their 50's still going strong.

haha idiot destroying his body

anyone intelligent knows destroying your mind is better

NEETs are your gods.

Think about what you're doing to multi millionaire investors in the commercial real estate market you sick fuck

6'4 / 200
I raced motocross at the national level my entire youth and adolescence, so I was definitely not a weaklet by any means, if that's what you're getting at, easily the most athletic person on the job site at the time.

The thing about construction is that the majority of people are unreliable fuckups and tweakers, so if you're the kind of person who just shows up and does your job and doesn't cause problems, you'll get promoted very fast.

I went from digging ditches and schlepping debris to managing job sites within 4 years. Once you're that guy, you honestly don't even have to get out of your truck.

I've worked construction and I've had 9-5 office jobs. There's a sense of reward and accomplishment from construction that you don't don't get with office jobs. You can visibly see the result of your efforts in construction. You will also sleep like a baby after a days physical work, I never found this true of office work. For some people those two things are enough for them to choose construction work. Of course it's nice to sit on a comfy chair in an air conditioned office as opposed to being exposed to the elements.

This. Why are there so many alcoholics and drug addicts, who also have an inferiority complex against office workers when the latter actually respects the average tradesman.

Yeah office jobs have no tangible result other than “this number bigger than before”

My dads was a welder too. He's 80 now and has every lung disease you can name except cancer. He say's it's from them not having good PPE back in the 70's and 80's.

keep your back straight

don’t twist weird

stretch regularly and exercise outside of work

Literally all you have to do. Just follow OSHA and ergonomics guidelines and you will be fine but no, everyone is a big man who knows better and just bitches about the pain all the time.

There is always a tiny cabin in the woods, shitting in your neighbors tub, and scavenging suspicious materials from local dumpsters as you write your manifesto.

Welding is terrible for you. If you want to go into the trades there's a lot of options. Electrician, HVAC, plumber are all probably easier than being a welder, and easier on the body.

Because it's fundamentaly a fallback career and people who resent where they're at in life become alcoholics. Many such cases in the labor trades.

There's a sense of reward and accomplishment from construction that you don't don't get with office jobs. You can visibly see the result of your efforts

Ownership of the means of your production. You are less socially alienated from your work when you work with your hands on something and see the results for yourself.

IMG_4064.jpg - 3000x2127, 420.18K

I just imagine that scene and the movie feels complete. not sure how it became so culturally relevant though, simply isn't that good

almost 40

have done nothing but unskilled manual labor my whole life

back is basically broken

want to get desk job but no one wants to hire a 40 year old dumb dumb

What are my options?

The modern job is just fucked and is only getting worse. A good portion of office jobs don't require degrees and are just the white collar version of menial shitkickers among blue collar jobs. There's no reason why you wouldn't be capable of any number of office jobs.

socially alienated from work

Are you telling me people who work from home and their only contribution to society from their jobs is sitting in meetings, answering emails, and reading spreadsheets feel socially alienated from their work?

Nowhere else I can get 25 dollars an hour.

The problem is that I get a 9/80 schedule. So I can't leave because I'm too addicted to those off Fridays.

Have you tried drug dealing?

Yes

You don't have to imagine it, it's here
youtu.be/XK43Ureuiqc

Isn’t that the whole point of the movie in OP? The guy doesn’t like that he slaves his ass off and has nothing to show for it. Sure he has money, but he’s treated like shit by his superiors, gets no acknowledgment for his work, his girlfriend cheats on him, he just goes through the motions. It changes when he realizes he’s marching towards death after he sees that guy die and stops caring about the rules and does something for himself and his buddies. He ends by doing construction wheee he actively builds something with his hands he’s proud of and is admired for by his peers for.

You enjoy your work a lot more when you do it for yourself than for a corporate entity that you get proportionally nothing out of for what you put in which is why you grind videogames or do yard work for free.

Wrong, working a work from home programming job for a tech company is actually the most fulfilling job in society, much more fulfilling than some silly building structures

I’m certainly not saying it can’t be, it depends on many factors. What I imagine is the most fulfilling part though is the freetime and flexibility in working pace it gives you. It’s a lot easier to do a job when middle management isn’t breathing down your neck making sure you’re working every second of the day.

working in an office is magnitudes worse than manual labor. not worse for your health but worse for your mood

You're a retard bro. The fact that you came up with that based on his post.

I thought I'd enjoy being street maintenance for the city but as it turns out half my job is dealing with cranky old boomers who have nothing better to do but harass me for doing my job. I didn't realize just how many old people are still kicking in this world just to waste resources and peoples time.

*CHRONIC BACK PAIN BLOCKS YOUR PATH*

AI BLOCKS YOUR PATH.

are you guys seriously arguing that construction is better than office?
construction workers are literal morons addicted to alcohol and drugs, and most of them can't even read
I would kill myself if I had to work with these people

I know a guy who used to do subway maintenance and he said it would've been the perfect job for his loner ass, since you spend 90% of your time underground alone, except for all the insane drug addicted homeless people he'd regularly encounter.

I'm 100k WFH office job.
I crashed out because I am so fucking tired of making powerpoints and presenting to disinterested overpaid assholes.
Thinking about a career change but WFH and a comfy salary in this economical and political climate is too valuable to risk.
Sucks.

Get a job at a call center

I can see it, the homeless don't really fuck with me but they create messes I have to clean up occasionally but human shit & drug waste is where I draw the line they'll have to call up a private hazmat company for that. I imagine all the homeless that live in underground tunnels are the schizophrenic types that would lunge at you with a screwdriver if you aren't careful.

I've always been interested in those NYC jobs like the professional rat murderers who just go around town and murder rats with gas. Their subway system is probably a cool job too, just maintaining those tunnels.

The problem with the homeless is that half of them are schizo and will literally go from being very polite and seemingly normal to suddenly trying to cut your throat without warning because they think the tiny lizard robots in their teeth controlled by the cloud people sent a cyborg clone designed to look like you to assassinate them before they can travel back in time and warn Genghis Khan about the alien cheese empire takeover in 1565 AD.

not worse for your health but worse for your mood

opposite

Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook and you'll be qualified for 70% of entry level office jobs.

Yeah sucks, life must be so hard for you doing your meaningless overpaid work from home job.

people complain about salaries, no jobs, etc

but literally everyone has a six figure work from home bullshit fake job doing nothing

Huh, okay.

nta but the point I was making is say for example you're a bricklayer, at the end of the day the wall is higher than it was when you walked onsite that morning. Years later you can go back and see that wall still there and remember "I made that". You finish a spreadsheet and it's gone with a new one taking it's place.

The worst part about manual labor jobs is they got a PPE answer to everything except heat, and wearing PPE is just layering you in extra shit to overheat faster so you can opt out of using PPE to make your job more comfortable in the short term in exchange for cancer in the long term.

Years later you can go back and see that wall still there and remember "I made that".

I guarantee you the crackheads and the illegals don't think about that at all. You put too much stock into that. Work is shit whether it's inside or outside.

Got the education

Got the job

Got the house

30

No friends

No social life

No gf

Spend every weekend alone

It wasn't suppose to be like this..........

I'll be your friend for 20k/yr.

I think I'd enjoy being the city worker guy who walks through the park with a cart and uses a grabber and/or pointy stick to pick up rubbish and put it in his cart. I also think I'd enjoy being a railway signalman: sit in a little booth in the middle of nowhere by myself and work that signal. Of course If I fuck that up I cause a train crash and go to jail.

education

suppose

Railway signalman barely exist anymore, that's almost totally automated these days.

True, but those with two functioning brain cells do.

screw that guy I'll be your friend for 15k/yr

I think I'd enjoy being the city worker guy who walks through the park with a cart and uses a grabber and/or pointy stick to pick up rubbish and put it in his cart.

Parks & Recreation, you'll also cut grass and weeds most of the time, spray herbicide, pick up dog shit and miscellaneous jobs like repainting parking lot lines and fences. These jobs aren't usually just one guy doing one thing every day, it's a rotation of different tasks and priorities.

It is a high stress job as I have present retail analytics and consultative insights to a fortune 1 company. Being poor sucks for sure but once you've made a decent amount of money you start to see its overall low value for happiness.

Yes and no. It's not taxing on your body. I spent many years working in a warehouse running forklifts and also doing physical labor. That job does wear down the body after a few years, which is why my office job has been much better for me, but office jobs turn into all encompassing slavery where they expect you to work 50 plus hours a week, and want you to log in remotely when you are at home, and answer e-mails at all hours of the day. So each job has it's pluses and minuses, but physical jobs really become impossible after your 40's unless you stay in really great shape.

SHE WANNA FUCK ME??

sitting isn't good. one way or other most office workers are physical piles of crap

Have you tried quiet quitting? Just see how little you can work and get away with it before they fire you. Better than burning out.

For people who don't know they re-cast the actor who played "Lumberg" as the construction worker boss, and the film originally ends with him saying "Uhhh... yeah... if you can go ahead and uh, start cleaning up these rocks a little faster, that'd be greaaaaat."

For people who don't know they re-cast the actor who played "Lumberg" as the construction worker boss, and the film originally ends with him saying "Uhhh... yeah... if you can go ahead and uh, start cleaning up these rocks a little faster, that'd be greaaaaat."

Yeah but then you wouldn't get boomers pretending that digging a ditch in construction with a bunch of dope fiends and wetbacks is actually super cool and fulfilling.

Let me guess: you drive a boring car.

NOT SO FAST

I watched the movie and I was like "Oh, you should really want to be like Lumberg, honestly."
He barely suffers any problems in the film and probably just kept being a manager. Peter seething about the stupid corporate policies is entirely his fault as well.

True, that's why you need to make a point to go to the gym a few days a week or you'll end up as a soft pile of crap office worker.Still it's better than going to a physical job that works you to near death to the point you have to take painkillers every day just to make it through your shift. I saw some guys in their 50's the other day climbing ladders to do roof work on a house next to a Wendy's. They looked like they were one step away from dropping dead from exhaustion. I would sooner be a door greeter at Wal Mart than ever do a physical job again.

Do you realize desk jobs are a leading cause of chronic back pain?

Presenting makes me physically ill, so that does sound awful

if they kicked them all out, they could just start hiring locals instead.
how many unemployed in the US?

Imagine having to work around women.

So yeah... Sheilla is going on maternity leave so if you could do a double shift at home and work on Saturdays for the next 8 months that'd be greeeaaat.

An hour-ish if exercise pretty much offsets that

It's not really a job I can "quiet quit" because 80% of the job is proactive consultation. I'd basically be fired pretty quick. Being pushing 40 w/o insurance and not having a stable job in this current political and economical is a dangerous gamble.

see how little you can work and get away with it before they fire you

Only do this if you work for a big company where people come and go regularly.
I tried it at a smaller office with a powertripping manager and the response was "fuck you, don't even think about asking for a reference"

it's even worse. there's this forced happiness and niceness. the guys at women dominated workplaces (most offices) go around with these rictus grins on their face all the time (must be nice, think happy thoughts, be positive!)
it must be exhausting

What about taking a pay cut for better wlb? If you're pushing oldfag territory with high income I presume your savings should've hit "escape velocity" so even without hefty contributions, you'll be able to retire comfortably in x years if you just tread water from now on.

The only people who break their back or whatever at work are morons who never learned how to lift.

Women are very annoying

Compared to driving around with the broworker in the company truck for 4-6 hours of the 10 hour shift making fun of all the daywalkers we see in the streets and taking a dozen breaks at whatever gas station we feel like. The pay is shit don't get me wrong, but this is the least suicidal I've ever been in my adult life.

Anon, you haven't signed up for the office potluck!

Anon, can you Venmo me $20 for Stacy's wedding present?

Remember Anon, we're having a mandatory "team building" day at the Top Golf this Saturday!

Ummmmm Anon, it reallyyyyy~ doesn't seem like you're invested in our Company Culture!

LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE AND LET ME DO MY JOB AND GO HOME YOU STUPID BITCH REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Sucks to be american i guess.

driving around with the broworker

This was one of the few ups of my last job, as long as you didn't get paired up with the yapper or the boomer who would chainsmoke with the windows rolled up

My first week I got paired up with the boomer who would pretend he didn't just shit himself and kept the windows rolled up half the day. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think of quitting that week.

Working outside with your bros on a nice day kicks ass. Working with a shit crew in sleet and wind is misery. If you ever end up with an office job watch the little sissies whine about the thermostat.

Working with a lot of women in the office is like being back in high school. That's the level of their behaviour. They are women first and employee second in the sense that only rules of conduct they feel like following will be followed.

the least suicidal I've ever been in my adult life.

a lot of anons go to great lengths to whine and bitch about hopeless depression but wont take a job they feel is beneath them.

work in a warehouse with office area

walk into the office once or twice a day, heat absolutely blasting and they all have hoodies on all day even when it's warm out

I have a pathetic job where I’ve wasted and ruined my life and now at 33 as a complete loser who spends all my days contemplating suicide, there’s not even a reason to look at other jobs. No place will hire a miserable, skill-less mouth breathing retard like me, I offer nothing to anyone anyway. I just hope this place eventually sees how I do nothing anymore and fires me, then maybe when I finally hit the complete unemployed rock bottom NEET living with my parents, when I truly have nothing left, I’ll finally get the courage to kill myself

Retail? You can be honest, I won’t judge.

Have you ever had a good day before? Literally all it takes to enjoy life is stimulating your brain into something that produces results which make you happy. The constphga0ruction ending is kino.

Start boxing or something
