Is the Church of England not a Protestant church? Would the king turn the house of God into a Roman temple? Does the king think that God can be bought with gold, trinkets and gilded rubbish? Has the king forgotten the reformation? Popish idolatry! Did the Lord not say unto Moses: "Thou shalt not make unto thyself any graven image nor bow down to them?" Has this king forgotten?

cromwell was a no-fun-allowed incel. he literally banned christmas celebration.

Fun fact, Crowell was the puppet of the Rotschilds and Sionism was an anglo protestant thing 300 years before a single jew called himself sionist.

*DISSOLVES YOUR PARLIAMENT IN YOUR PATH*

kingcharlesI.jpg - 686x386, 35.62K

the presbyterians in parliament did that

Protestants have always been correct, besides christianity being a cancer regardless.

under his leadership

earlier than that

this

Why is Dumbledore so mad at Obi-Wan?

CoE's approach to dogma is much better than the Catholic Church imo, but it misses the point that normie masses need dogma to keep the faith going

If you start letting them decide things they just turn it into nonbelief slop, which is exactly what happened to CoE

Sionist

ESL third worlders infest this board

Becket
The Lion in Winter
Richard III
Chimes At Midnight
The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex
The Scarlet Blade
Mary Queen of Scots

I rewatched Becket a little while ago and it's pretty weak for the most part. O'Toole is downright annoying as Henry, especially compared to how much better he was in The Lion in Winter. Burton is great as Becket but it still grinds at times.

Out of curiosity, are there any good French or German movies with similar tones, or are they all poisoned by continental smugness?

Well there's Andrei Rublev but that's Russian, and it's not really about monarchy

Does anyone have the smug pepe asking by whose authority he is being tried?

tbf, protestants are autistic faggots.
Religion should be pretty and ritualistic, and give normies some sense of structure and belonging in their lives.
God probably doesn't care either way, and Christianity probably has 20% of the facts, if that. Don't worry about it.

NooooO! Muh book written by ooga booga sand people who cut their willies off!

Parliament was and continues to be a mistake.

Richard Harris was great in that movie as always. Which is probably the reason why Cromwell is worshipped as much by the protestants in this board. But yeah, the only positive thing in Cromwell was doing what the french are usually famous for long before they did it

le cultural christianity

Okay, but for the nonLARPers, the correctness of religion is literally the most important thing.

Is the Church of England not a Protestant church?

No, it actually isn’t.

me sticks boy, where are me sticks?

strafford.jpg - 1280x534, 75.63K

cromwell is based for genociding the irish

Protestants have always been wrong and should not even exist

FTFY

The kalifate of england

What is it with latinxes that don't even go to church outside of funerals and their sister's shotgun wedding opining on christianity

What is your basis to assume it's correct? The less you dwell on that stuff, the more you can get on with just living your life, and being a good person, which in theory is what God wants us to do anyway.

You are actually demon possessed.

You could say the same thing about the entire field of ethics, philosophy, and human civilization.

Give me one reason I should assume Christianity, and specifically protestant Christianity is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Far as I can see it's the remnants of several older faiths, that got turned into a different thing by the Romans, and a different thing yet again by the British.

I would.
People who spend their entire lives erming and arring over the specific points of some philosophical text are such unbelievable wankers.
Bro, just don't murder people. Don't steal. Be good to your family and community. Don't shag other men's wives. The rest doesn't really matter.

Is the Church of England not a Protestant church?

No, not really. You just appropriated the vibe.

This

Youtube always puts clips of these two films in my reccomends for some reason. Think i'll actually watch them today.

Unhappy king wants to divorce his nagging fatass wife

Pope won’t have it

Throws a temper tantrum and creates his own bootleg church

dooms the whole of Europe

Thanks very cool anglos

Do it

do americans actually believe this is how Protestantism started? I hear them say this sort of thing a lot

This movie definitely needed another hour, mostly for pre war stuff. He goes from walking off a battlefield to having a legendary highly innovative army of devoted badasses in the span of like 5 minutes.

Also please recommend other movies with battle scenes as good as these, I love seeing actual formations

YOU LOST WINCHESTER

Such a kino movie. I love this time peroid

just the church of england

I've noticed a lot of my friends seem to mix up Henry VIII and Martin Luther's role in the Reformation, if they think about it at all. It's understandable, given that it's how the Reformation finally got to England.

Had to watch this scene in history class. Even my sophomore brain knew this was cool.

oon whuuat auforeata

Did the Lord not say unto Moses: "Thou shalt not make unto thyself any graven image nor bow down to them?"

it's ok, the Hebrews were just venerating their golden calf

Good. Catholics are now washing blacks feets so he might have had a point.

And then you have the pope washing african feet and churches filled with " based" black people. No thx.

uhhh, I want my religion to be racist actually!

So, not Christianity then?

the correctness of religion is literally the most important thing.

The most correct form of worship is the one directly based on scriptures. All the shit that came later is completely false. Christ never said 99.99% of things modern """""christians""""" believe. They believe and practice things that were made up by people hundreds and thousands of years after the scriptures were written.
Remember when Jesus said that lords should force peasants to die building massive luxury cathedrals? Or when he said that a group of social elites should appoint a guy to constantly change the canonical interpretations of his own word? Me neither. But modern """"christians"""" believe this and never question why things are the way they are.

because it was used as an excuse to get drunk and roudy

all style no substance.

false

lol

source?

Cromwell was basically being a 20th century dictator before it was cool. He was also a no fun allowed faggot and undermined the monarchy to the point it became impotent. Now Bongistan is ruled entire by "democracy", which violates the rights of the people far more than any monarch ever has.

He's the worst parts of religious extremism and liberal faggotry all in one cunt.

Protestants: WE FOLLOW THE BIBLE YOU PAPISTS!

Jesus: No divorces.

Protestants: UNLIMITED DIVORCES FOR EVERYBODY!

They were a joke since Day 1.

You shouldn't take Protestantism seriously since they aligned their canon with post-Jesus Jewish canon.

I don't think inventing a hilariously Jewish workaround like annulment is much better

At least annulment was reserved for royalty in order to avoid literal civil wars, not for everybody, not even royalty.

Annulments nowadays have very strict requirements, for example your spouse hiding something from you that would make the marriage not happen (like a man hiding from his spouse he doesn't want children or is infertile).

not even nobility*

What are you on about, annulments were never restricted to royalty alone, it was just a matter of whether you had the $$$$ to get it done.

muh requirements

Lol do you think no fault divorce is as old as Anglicanism
