Queen of Anon Babble
did you remember this movie because Michael Cera chose it in the Criterion Closet? it's okay anon, you can be honest with me
Baubro how does it feel to know that your waifu is the reason (Intermezzo) isn't ever going to be released? It must be weird that she's actively preventing you from having new material you must desperately want to slaver over
Kek. Negative: only saw the one that he did years ago that was surprisingly good (Kiarostami, Ozu, etc.).
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Is there a Bradley aphorism about this?
You haven't seen the works of Ching Chong Ching Chong Ching Chang? You're not a real cinephile.
She's only one reason among many.
She's only one reason among many, if that.*
This but unironically
do u guys torrent your kino or what
Hell yeah
Any films similar to Fellini's-Satyricon and Nostos: the return? Something that really makes you feel like you're part of a mythic time. I'm going to rewatch the classic Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans as I remember loving them as a kid.
Of course no, we plant seeds instead
Qbittorrent and it's built-in search with plex and infuse on my apple tv
Kanchana Sita
What am i in for?
Would you suck me off for tickets to the new Bi Gan? You'd have to make my dick do a Resurrection.
Thanks for reminding me, I still haven’t seen this. Wasn’t there a new restoration coming out soon/came out recently?

The ending of Red is dishonest as fuck.
Who knows
How so?
It tries hard to emotionally bait you.
I just watched this beautiful kino. Müller is an elite cinematographer, Friedkin has great taste in babes, and Peterson & Pankow are awesome. This was pure vibes. Air thick with atmosphere just like in The Long Goodbye. Some of the campy plot shenanigans may have honestly elevated the experience.
9/10.
looking at her filmography, there are a bunch of films where she is one of the few people included in the cast and pretty much no one has seen any of these. is Irène Jacob the Eric Roberts of the arthouse world?
A funny movie but far from LVT's best
Friedkin has great taste in babes
if you want more darlanne fluegel watch freeway
Air thick with atmosphere just like in The Long Goodbye
what a weird comparison to make, it's a french connection remake
I'm just talking about the vibes. Both worlds felt material despite being fictional mirrors. Plot almost becomes secondary to the characters simply navigating their surroundings.
lot of words to say it's a stylised noir
stylised noir
Lot of words to say noir
Idk if I would call LDLA noir, but it applies to LG for sure.
Melody is gaining weight, on her most recent BrattySis scene she has a little bit of a belly.
normal words but a dingo
most noirs aren't stylised, they're just in black and white
it's a neo-noir
I would suck off any Anon Babble poster, no homo.
nigga that got uploaded yesterday, how much porn do you watch???
Yeah, neo-noir works better. But it also deviates from that since it's got some kickass popcorn action rather than procedural or dramatic tension/conflict. A good infusion of genres for sure.
I watched this last night, and to answer your question, an unholy amount.
how come so few white women go to japan? I want to see more of them tongue wrestle like the japs do
it really doesn't outside of the car chase. i don't think you know what neo-noir means
Shit OP and QOD.
I'm surprised Adriana Chechik has never done JAV, considering how vocal she is about liking asian guys.
You just gave one example, but Defoe's burning motif and the exaggerated "violence porn" of faces blowing up when shot also isn't noir. Nor is the Turturro/Peterson foot chase in the airport or the prison assassination attempt.
Take a breath, anon. No need to be a disagreeable dork to bait human interaction. Everyone knows LDLA blends genres.
that's because you're compairing them to 40s and 50s noirs. neo-noirs, like point blank, harper and thief tend to have a lot more action. TLADILA is not an outlier.
They tend to have more action, but few have the level of explosive action in LDLA. That's why even wiki and letterboxd describe it as an action film as well, which is not a mecessary element of neo-noir.
You're dragging this out pointlessly. No more (You)s.
wikipedia and letterboxd say it so it's true!!!
no more (You)s indeed. for anyone who watches TLADILA thinking it's an action movie, you will be disappointed.
does Parix, Texas live up to the hype? I'm considering that as my next watch
it looks great
Totally depends on your attitude towards the Kinski poster. If you think he's a wholesome, fun and innocent person you will like the film.
I feel a sharp pain in my right groin /films/ for this feel?
who is the Kinski poster?
Have to side with dingo here. Neo-noir is an umbrella term representing the many facets of evolution of noir. Integration with action film, especially within the emerging paradigm of postmodernist film, is inevitable in this context. And it's not even uncommon - need I remind you that classic noir was often merged with gangster film?
I just think the other anon was being deliberately obtuse. I never denied that it's neo-noir. I just think it does a great job of infusing a heavier dose of action and renegade cop stuff and the like. It hits a sweet spot that's not quite neo-noir for me. I don't think that's a controversial thing to say if you consider all the elements of the movie.
What kind of a person do you imagine in your head when you see that they have these bookmarks?
If you do watch it I will share one of my schizo theories while the topic is pertinent
I can't forget I might die tomorrow.
You will.
You're narrowing down your definition of neo-noir to colorful reimaginings of classic detective films, like Chinatown and Night Moves. Don't. "Not quite neo-noir" is just another kind of neo-noir.
All films are neo-noirs if you try hard enough.
Is sorting letterboxd by average rating a good way to find new quality films?
Brown
I see where you're coming from, but I don't think that contradicts my position, which is what LDLA was a great infusion of genres. If neo-noir is expansive, perhaps almost globally so, then I think we are in harmony.
Pretty much lol
Do any modern artists deserve The Last Waltz treatment? No blacks. Maybe Radiohead?
What's his best movie?
A lil timmy.
someone who never leaves their bedroom and is, relative to the adult population, at severe risk of dying a virgin
No because good obscure films aren't listed by average rating so you will only get slop
top 10 films of all time
three TV dramas, two documentaries, three anime series and a radiohead album
Nice platform you got there
You know being white will always be better than being brown right
Timmy has the same amount of power as cracker, it's completely ineffective as a slur
Perhaps. It does also risk giving you too high expectations. If the movie falls short of being a perfect movie, you may feel disappointed despite enjoying it. Most of the movies you watch AND enjoy are not 5/5 movies. The perfect movies are in the 1% of the movies you will see. Practice due diligence.
You sound butthurt.
Any recs? I'm leaning towards Paris, Texas but would be open to other suggestions.
Nice platform you got there
Right...
Nah you're definitely asspained, "Timmy" is only used by smelly shitskins with inferiority complexes
no because most people who give out ratings are tards. you should read high quality lists instead like;
letterboxd.com
I'm honestly pretty easy to please. I avoid stuff that I know will be slop (Marvel, nu-Disney, etc.) and am generally satisfied with most things I watch.
your most plebian opinion Anon Babble? Edward Yang and Bresson's films are mid in my opinion
i can't tell if this is satire. why am i looking at a random dude's list?
Mahjong
it's a great list you newshit
You are a smelly otaku, timmy. When's the last time you had a bath?
Dumont's schoolplay at number two
Based
Nice lensing.
i mostly like this list
is Speed Racer worth watching? I've seen the first Matrix and Cloud Atlas. obviously The Matrix is legendary and I thought Cloud Atlas was honestly quite good. my understanding is Speed Racer has insane visuals and is treated like a live-action anime. I think Anon Babble likes it and finds it underrated. does it have anything to say beyond cartoony races for 90 minutes?
Antonioni more I like I Antoneed methamphetamine to stay awake during this shit.
Thanks honey.
No, it's better to look at lists or watch anything that looks like pic related
this just seems forced and arbitrary
Watched it on TV. It's not indispensable.
Your flicks suck Korine
Yes, it's digital landscape extravaganza kino
Popularity implies accessibility. Relatively low view counts but high ratings could imply a difficult movie to get into. You'll develop an eye for sinoma over time which gives you the ability to enjoy the more difficult kinos.
We're all lonely neo-noir protagonists here.
Thread theme: youtube.com
Tbh with you I think she peaked a long time ago and is kind of past her prime. But she’s still a lolcow
Idk I think that's all just cope by posters who make film-watching their entire personality and want to feel special for it. A good movie is a good movie, doesn't matter if it's known or not. I watched Czech New Wave last week which slapped, and I watched Sinners yesterday which was pretty good (one scene in particular was amazing, and the soundtrack throughout was top-shelf).
There is tons of amwf jav but you need to go on a jav site to find it
She’s in it for the romance
is missav da wae?
Idk I think that's all just cope by posters who make film-watching their entire personality and want to feel special for it.
I personally don't get into hobbies in order to give off a specific perception of myself, but because participating in them gives me pleasure. I'd guess it's a normie thing to do everything to fit in.
A good movie is a good movie, doesn't matter if it's known or not.
True. I didn't mean that unpopular = higher quality. In fact, a lot of obscure movies are unimpressive. That's not to say unenjoyable.
What I meant by difficulty was that a lot of art house films presuppose the audience being enthusiasts with some basic knowledge of the medium or the subject at hand. Without those, enjoyment and appreciation could be unreachable. Art is communication in one direction. It relies on the communication skills of the audience as much as it does on the communication skills of the artist. You can't ask the artist to elaborate on something, you're on your own.
My, that's a lot of words. I'm glad you all read my banal thoughts.
I agree with all of these assertions. Art is a mirror that reflects its creator and the observer.
I'm thinking of watching a sci-fi flick (arguably my favorite overall genre when it hits on existentialism, the great unknown, exploration being one of man's greatest urges, etc.). Any recommendation from the following?
Prospect (2018)
August in the Water (1995)
Little Fish (2020)
On the Silver Glove (1988)
Fantastic Planet (1973)
Visitor of a Museum (1989)
Interface (2022)
World on a Wire (1973)
The Face of Another (1966)
Yes. But doing genre searches is really whack so you kind of need to tailor the algorithm to spit a bunch at you.
Ikarie-XB1
Popular amwf jav girls
Lily Hart /Emma Lawrence
June Lovejoy
Amelia Earhart
Stacey
Russian Sasha
OPRD Russian Amateur Series
Plus plenty of western stars do jav just try searching their name with Amwf or jav in the google search
This looks awesome, thank you. Might just be the one I go with. Are you the same anon who recommended Ucho/The Ear to me last weekend? That was a hit!
On the Silver Globe is as much sci-fi as Stalker. Imagine Stalker but they're all mostly shouting the whole time, and the camera moves a lot. The Face of Another I'm surprised to see described as sci-fi, but then again I saw it such a long time ago that I don't remember much.
My go-to sci-fi rec is The Whispering Star (2015)
I've posted this image for about a week but NOBODY still has pointed out the hidden surprise I added to it. Nobody picked Eagle Eye in here.
Thank you, anon. I'm gonna go with the other anon's suggestion, Ikarie, but I'll add The Whispering Star to my list.
No, not that anon, but I do like watching CNW films too.
Mets hat
Asian guy
Is that Cool Calm Pete?
August in the Water and Face of Another are great.
I did see the horse the first time you posted, i just didn't say anything.
Did you just scream "AAAAAAHHH!!" internally?
But I might die tonight!
I have no idea who that is
No.
Quit horsin' around.
The best asian rapper, korean guy from Queens, NY who always wears a Mets hat, he released one album called Lost in 2005 and then pretty much quit.
one of the best of the 2000s, unironically
She really looks brazilian to me, and i don't mean the ass.
The horse is the most cinematic animal.
Honestly the horse is the one who should be known as man's best friend, as much as i love dogs, without horses we wouldn't even be here today.
And that's the 40 acres and a mule truth, Ruth. John Ford and Akira Kurosawa agree.
Tarkovsky knew this
I will second watching August in the Water
He’s wearing a beanie here not sure if it’s him desu
Being a waifuposter is a love-hate relationship in itself if you have an ounce of self awareness.
and yet ironically, the ploughing that made mass agriculture possible was done with teams of oxen.
dog is man's best friend because he'll fight for him to the death, not because he's the most productive worker animal
PTA actually directs the Resident Evil movies.
no
that's just some faggot spamming his lists, ignore
August in the Water.
I need to come to Brazil, then.
Whenever Man began to tame the horse
He had himself a potent power source
For draft and riding, horses were supreme
From two to three and more they made a team
The dog was not his only friend of course
He knew he had another in the horse
But he would come to cast his friend aside
In favour of a motor-driven ride

Nigga, horses don't stop, they keep goin' (Yeah)
You can lose your life but it gon' keep goin' (Yeah)
Why not risk life when it's gon' keep goin'? (Yeah)
When you die somebody else was born
any arthouse films that explore the subject of a woman sharing her breast milk in the heat of passion?
What are you a horse fucker or some shit
They fuck horses, don't they?
Through the rails I spied
Your ponytail. I tried
With sugar cubes - And they're O.K.
But I don't think
I'll catch you that way
I hate myself 'cause you're so cool

is Israel "Ulu" Grosbard Anon Babble?
I know it's not Cool Calm Pete, i was just joking.
Based, fuck cars.
Gallo sucks the milk out of a woman at gunpoint in Essential Killing by best pole Skolimowski.
So i started Macbeth by patron saint of Anon Babble Roman Polanski yesterday and i started getting bothered by the Shakespearean dialogue which made me realise i'm tired of hearing brits and americans talk so now for june i'm not watching any english language films. I stopped Macbeth and rewatched Macunaíma instead, not as great as i remembered, Andrade has much better films.
Now it's dark.
Did all the real niggas roll up?
DYR0N
No, I'm just quoting the neo-noir film Blue Velvet [1986]
is we getting mektoub my love intermezzo
The Cannes cut? Kechiche said maybe after he dies. A recut? He's apparently been working on it since 2019.
He should just "leak" the Cannes cut on the internet and say he got hacked or something.
If only.
Nah that nigga needs the money or else he starving
He's borderline cancelled tho. It can either languish on his computer and make him no money, or it can be released and make him no money but some prestige.
Niggas prolly to hungry to be thinkn str8
Then he should make himself some couscous like in that movie he made.
Thank you for the continued quality OC, please keep it coming
why are you larping as an urban fellow
Some fags here think that's cool and funny.
This has always bothered me, he claims to hate racism yet freely throws that word around. Would love to see him try it infront of someone black (which he never ever would) and watch him get beat to oblivion
a lack of physical human touch really produces the most retarded type of person

there's a scene where her tum tum and naked body is lensed. Sadly my technical knowledge is nil so I don't know what lens was used for that. Would be cool if a Anon Babblehaggot contributed.
exquisitively lensed*

Anyone got some 60s sci-fi recs? Stuff like Planet of the Apes maybe

If you have friends get a pint or a joint and watch some Star Trek TOS.
i share this general with plebs
I'm watching Ikarie XB-1 right now, which is pretty good. it's got intelligent themes but the filmmaking itself is relatively amateurish (probably due to a lack of financing at the time in the Czech Republic)
t. Friendless sadgeboi
it's a twitch zoomer
so by watching with friends you mean over a discord call
Seconding Planet of the Vampires. Also, are any of those Antonio Margheritti space films good?
Who hurt you *3x sad crying face emojis*
Top 5 rape scenes in cinema history:
1. PSG 5 - 0 Inter.
#1 is from sacred trail of beasts
idk haven't seen them
blud really thought he was cookin' with this one :skull:
Ikarie XB-1 is alright. Much of its merit comes from the apparent fact that it infuses themes of paranoia, the dangers of the unknown and optimism, which is fine and dandy. The plot itself is relatively mediocre, though, even if it's the first to tackle some of those points. In some ways, it feels like a series of disjointed vignettes rather than a cogent story.
The camerawork is not worth discussing; the choppy stock cuts with the traveling ship remind one of fast-loading video games; the acting is rote; the most interesting ideas are descriptive and shallow rather than piercing and contemplative.
5.5/10
Agreed. Not as good as others but not bad either
LET'S FUCK
niggas be wildin' out here, yo
I always found musicals kind of boring. La La Land was good though
you should watch moana
I haven't seen a Disney movie since Toy Story 3. I have heard some of the new ones are good but I just don't trust the Mouse right now
