There should have been more siege stuff to whittle down the vampire horde instead of a big brawl. There's no way the heavily outnumbered survivors could last even half a minute when only one of them knew how to fight and only one who knew how to deal with the occult.
The ending shootout where he decides to attack in an open field instead of taking cover in the building was equally stupid.
But the biggest sin (hehe) was the failure to tie the racism and horror threads.
The Irishman's offer should have been shown as a lot more tempting in the face of unrelenting prejudice and hate.

Yeah, too long exposition, too short action sequence. Still the movie is OK.

Kinda how I felt about it. Lost a lot of steam there. Also weird how the movie actually ended through a mid-credits scene. Why? The vampires kinda reminded me of the hobo group from Dr Sleep. Needed a bit more from them as you say.

both could have been solved with better use of music, make music (melody, lyrics etc) more influential and stuff
I've seen reviews where the tagline was about the healing role of music etc etc nigga the only moment in this movie where something happened due to music was when the nigga teleported from outer space and started breakdancing... all the rest could have just been characters shouting AWOOOO

Nah, it's a "From Dusk Till Dawn", except with blacks, set in the 30s and the vampires are Irish, not Mexican.
That's literally all that makes the difference.
The most memorable scene is a guy getting beaten up to the rhythm of the music they are performing in the same time, and has zero relation to the plot, it's just a background event.
Also, zoomers hate it, because it has a whole lot of sex scenes, and zoomies are icky about all that non-wholesome stuff.
In other words: it's a classic blacksploitation flick.
And you should start to wonder what the fuck is wrong with Hollywood money machine if something like that is the best earner they had since the start of the year.
