it's over
It's over
Wes Anderson
it's over
It never even begun
What happened to Wes? His last two movies felt like a parody of his own style, almost like a deliberate satire. Reminds me of Tim Burton after he lost his touch
got old and lazy. he "made it" so he no longer puts in any effort.
his movies are all the same, people just think the older ones were good because his gimmicks were new then.
I'm pretty sure he gets his movies exclusively funded by a multi-billionaire, so he's just churning out whatever slop he and Roman Coppola come up with after a few weeks/months of writing a script together.
C'est fini.
Most people lose their creative skill and mental acumen when they get old.
He literally got worse with each film
His post-Budapest films have been average but all gotten by on something, this was the first one that felt different in that matter, average all the way down
Out of ideas, still likes money, many such cases
I like his films, why could I tell this was bad from the trailer?
Dipped his chicken twice
He’s full-on self-parody now. Even the title sounds like a Wes Anderson spoof film.
Does anyone remember the SNL skit a few years ago about a Wes Anderson horror movie? Pretty sure he’d make something like that unironically now
Budapest was also too much .
I like the fucking faggot scene though
As a whole there's something kind of unsatisfying with Isle of Dogs. And it insists upon itself a little too much.
But I wouldn't call it average at all. Problems aside I'd say it's stellar and really underrated.

The entire cast of this is incredibly forgettable especially when compared to Fantastic Mr. Fox that has like 8 different characters you leave the movie remembering.
Pretty much this. Visually stunning, but very forgettable characters with no chemistry. Bryan Cranston was very miscast in this as the lead

another fucking nepo baby
I read a comment on IMDB by some Wes fag. He said he had to pause Grand Budapest because he was laughing so hard. There's not a single moment in that movie that would cause that much laughter. His movies suck balls.
Tenenbaums > Life Aquatic > Fox > Rushmore > Darjeeling > Budapest > Bottle Rocket > Moonrise
Haven't seen the rest.
His good movies were all cowritten by Owen Wilson.
This he should have stuck with classic claymation like that fox & dog movie he did few years back those were great
this is why is Hitchcock is so great, he never fell off and churned out kino from the 20s until the 70s
His movies look like what happens when you ask an AI to run a filter, then run the same filter again over the already filtered image and then repeat it again and again and again to the point where the latest iteration is a laughable and horrendous joke.
He finally hit a 4 to 1 ratio of style to substance. His movies are like catalogs.

I was going to say wtf went wrong but then I googled her father, quite unlucky all the genes went to the same direction.
The first three were. Life aquatic, darjeeling limited, moonrise, and grand budapest were not.
Legacy talent
She sounds just like her mom.
Then she can do audiobooks I guess.
Even his TV show is spectacular. A true King.
Is that John Waters in the back?
This movie has nothing to do with Lebanon. Dropped.
Never liked anything this guy made, his films feel tailor made for women and fags
Nigga makes the same movie over and over
a bloo bloo bloo if that was me being given opportunities thanks to my parents i'd say no!
The real explanation is that Wes Anderson was a new upcoming director and made shitty pretentious films for art school types. A few critics saw his movies and pretended to like them because they are so quirky and have weird colors and people wear little silly hats and goofy little mustaches.
More people started watching these movies and with more expose more people are going ''holy shit, this guy fucking sucks.''
(You) being an NPC you can't form an original thought. So when critics said Wes Anderson is good, he must be good. Now the much bigger audiences are saying Wes Anderson is bad, therefore he must be bad.
He was always bad. His entire style is getting the most famous people he can get and dressing them up in silly outfits and striking poses for the camera. These movies are photoshoots disguised as movies.
That seems like the critical linchpin for me at least. I'd like to see Anderson co-write with different actors though too.
retard
Your brain, a puddle
First one I saw was sorta quirky-good, then I learned they're all like that and worse and the same chud actors and I gave up, idk, 5 films ago?
lmao and there I thought he could get possibly any worse after his last one
Nta but he's correct, watch more movies
How is it more dogshit than Mr. Fox?
Sounds like every Wes Anderson movie when it releases. What's different this time?
he fell for the "language of film" meme
Triggered redditor pedos
dude it's le Brad Pitt???? but he is wearing a pink pastel salmon shirt...and w-wh-what? is that a monacle and he is drinking from a little comically small teacup????? oh my heckin science, is that Robert DeNiro entering the scene on a little tricycle???? he is wearing pastel color green????
your brain on Wes Anderson
Sure, it's not average, it's bad
The fact that the person who wrote this has the gall to call anyone else an NPC is fucking hilarious
Kill yourself, troon
I basically ignored this guys films until I decided to watch Budapest and was blown away, it's a genuinely amazing film. It sent me on a binge of all his films and I was disappointed. His films get better and better up to budapest(moonrise wasnt very good) but after budapest they are okay at best.
Budapest > Fox > Tenenbaums > Aquatic > dogs > darjeeling > asteroid > henry suger > french dispatch > moonrise
He wrote Life Aquatic with Noah Baumbach. The other movies are trash

There's no fucking way it's worse than Asteroid City, that was legitimately one of the worst films I've ever seen.
anderson, and many artists, are counter-culture. they absorb culture and references as they develop their style in order to subvert it. unfortunately, after decades, they can afford to dismiss all their prior influences, losing touch with their true source of emotional frustration that creates art. they spend their latter years serving people the reproductions of what made them great. their opinions of anything else are mere anecdotes recycled or remembered (poorly) from their youth. It's why artists who die in poverty produce great art up until they slump over, they don't have to live up to anyone else's expectations
I was reading some reviews and saw people saying it's "not as good as Asteroid City", that should tell you everything you need to know about this hack's latest slop
