Why were two generals even fighting each other in person, I thought generals were supposed to command their armies from a distance?
Why were two generals even fighting each other in person...
They're hero units
saar wars
kys jeet
why would a general need so many arms
The CIS robots have artificial intelligence and the last jedi order was filled with politically corrupted retards. If they died it wouldn't affect anything.
They sent a general team of jedi after grievous and he kicked their asses and so instead decided to send a specific jedi so he wasn't general
general Kenobi
Grievous still remains to be the most impressive CGI character made. He still looks turbo realistic, way better than the dude from Pirates of Carribean.
Btw - why are there so many SW threads lately? Like, extremely many. Andor has ended, what is the point in shilling.
Neither of these fucking idiots actually went to officer’s school, let alone graduated and accrued multiple decades of experience within their respective institution until they were deemed to be administratively qualified for brigade-level command or higher, which is how literally every fucking army on this planet does it. So naturally they 1v1 each other like two retards fighting.
There's a Star Wars season going on in Fortnite right now, I just put on the new Grievous skin and it made me think about this, hence the thread.
20th Anniversary of Revenge of the Sith was a few weeks ago
Andor stirred shit up. People have rewatched Rogue One, and are losing their minds at how much better the sequels could have been.
Because it's like the nobility in medieval times and they can probably solo half an army alone
Historically, it was not unheard of for ancient and medieval generals used to fight each other in single combat despite what some (((people))) want you to believe. Both generals were brave warriors who led from the front. It is only natural for them to decide the battle with an honorable duel instead of cowardly relying on their troops to do the fighting for them.
He's an arm(y) general
I fear that they might be able to salvage Star Wars reputation if they keep making things like Andor, especially with the Ryan Gosling movie coming up. A literal decade of work down the drain.
Jedi are known for their assassination attempts.
Just re-watched this on YT and it's pretty based. Prequels were fun and had the best battles/duels.

Effects still look really good.
Because they’re knights and so being chivalrous, since it’s not yet become an uncivilized time
People who haven’t experienced a high trust society won’t understand
In star wars, they give you the title of commander, captain, general etc., in the same place where we would give someone a medal or a purple heart or whatever. It's not clear that there's any command associated with it.
why don't jedis wield those drone shields that can deflect lasers?
They did Grievous so dirty in the canon EU. Imagine having the coolest fucking cyborg in media at your disposal and you turn him into a bitch whose whole gimmick is being a coward. Filoni definitely got touched by a guy in a Grievous mask or something.
they e stupid baletts
Real Star Wars fans don't recognize TCW as canon.
Careful, a certain TCW zealot might start kvetching if you keep posting like that.
On that subject, I think there's a really nuanced bit of Grievous' character that everyone misses. At one point he WAS a noble warrior. While he has forsaken any sense of honor, he's still incredibly proud. He prioritizes his mission and his survival above all else, but he still entertains his pride whenever he thinks he can afford to. He was willing to hide behind his troops until Obi-Wan provoked him. Then, surrounded by his army he was willing to indulge himself and accept the duel only because he believed he could rely on his troops regardless of the duel's outcome. I think it's really interesting that he's still got that sort of spirit to him despite his lack of honor. It's like he's a shell of what he once was both physically and spiritually.
I actually really love what George did with him. His more cowardly disposition gives him a lot of character. The biggest problem is that Filoni doesn't give a shit about him and interpreted "Grievous is willing to use underhanded tactics to win" as "Grievous CAN'T win UNLESS he uses underhanded tactics." I think people would be a lot more accepting of canon Grievous if he had some real on-screen achievements under his belt. It also doesn't help that no one at Lucasfilm knows or cares how to actually write him so they just have him paraphrase one of his several RotS dialogues ad infinitum.
Lucas fanfic that’s why
ok big mouth, when did it actually happen
A long time ago
Effects look good, but you know what doesn't look good? The massive fucking pimple on Ewan McGregor's forehead. I cannot watch the prequels without staring at his forehead every time he's on screen.
I still remember how disappointed I was watching Grevious in ROTS after seeing him in CW. Why did Lucas do this character so dirty?
Lucas probably didn't even know the CW cartoon existed, he had a team come up with Grievous for the movie and then Tarkovsky decided to use him in the show. The video about them pitching designs for Grievous to him is funny because you can tell they're all absolutely petrified of Lucas when he comes in to judge their work.

Honor thing.
Lucas probably didn't even know the CW cartoon existed
You're kidding, right?
Ok, I exaggerated a bit. I'm aware he had some involvement in developing EU stuff, I know the Darth Icky and Darth Insanius story, so it's not like he was completely aware, I just don't think he cared very much about it. The fact remains that with Grievous he was doing his own thing for the movie and the cartoon worked around that, it's not like Lucas watched the cartoon and was like "I'm gonna make this guy a fucking retard in the movie" because he made his movie first, the cartoon was just what came out first.
Grievous was sort of a victim of RotS having so much other stuff going on. In the story of Anakin's fall and the relationship between him and Obi-Wan, there just wasn't a lot of room to let the confederate General shine as a powerful villain. I still maintain that the changes to his personality are still endearing. Cowardly or not, trying to beat your opponents by blowing out the windshield of your own star cruiser is a batshit insane move and I loved it.
Darth Icky and Darth Insanius
God, Lucas is such a fat retard.
I love it.
I still unironically think Darth Insanius would have fit, most of the other sith names were corruptions of evil sounding words. Invader/Vader, Maul/Maul (he didn't have to think too hard for this one), Insidious/Sidious, Tyranny/Tyranus, Plague/Plagueis. Maybe even "Darth Sanius" would have been better to match the pattern set by Sidious and Vader.
Speaking of Lucas being great though, he just did an interview for ESB's anniversary and it was hilarious because the guy clearly wanted to ask him about Star Wars and Lucas just went on this long meandering tale about his entire career as a filmmaker. I greatly enjoyed it, I could listen to Lucas tell stories for hours.

They lead from the front like real men.
You retards still don't get that Lucas was mocking the devs, huh?
Shut the fuck up, kid. The adults are talking.
