Because it's so stereotypically Jersey/NYC. It sounds funny to the rest of the country, or any other country watching it for that matter, and thus it became a meme.
quality over quantity, like with a lot of sopranos material. there may be so little gabagool screen time but it feels so much larger than it is.

I think S1 is peak but I’m probably in the minority. It’s very strong throughout its run though
The show just gets better. Starting with season 2 episode 1 the dialogue improves, and then you just keep learning all the stories, watching all the lies, it just builds.
ive loved every episode in season 1 so far aside from the black record label episode one, that one kinda annoyed me with that half of the story, the tony going golfing with non italians though was very relatable however

From a script perspective sure. Visually I just can't get enough of the way they shot s1 and s2. They're some of my favorite seasons of tv from a purely visual aesthetic perspective.

There's a few episodes of lesser quality than normal throughout the show but you've basically watched the worst episode. There's some others that people might argue are worse but it's not that bad, and also never unwatchable.

The hamfisted surface-level commentary about Columbus and colonialism feels pretty out of place in a show that typically conveys its themes more subtly
i don't mind it, they've got a weird A plot, but the Karen thing always ties me to the episode Another Toothpick with his dad, columbus isn't the only story in the episode
when people spout on about how evil columbus is it just instantly tells me how stupid/ not historically surface level they are. Most of if not most people in history had the same mindset of Columbus and yes, him making the trek to the Americas and proving it was profitable is probably the most important event of the last millennia.
