I really don't like the new Final Destination... the kills are gory and fun sure, but none of them stick with you. the best final destination kills are ones that give you anxiety because they're things that could happen to you every day. everyone remembers the escalator crush for example. how often am I ever going to be near an mri? or risk falling into garbage? or have a train fly off the tracks and hit me?
This Until Dawn movie is very boring. Is horror really in this poor a state?

Otherwise I agree, personally the CGI bummed me out. The trash compactor kill could have been freaky but it was shot like a gore video. Needed some artistic flair.

this new entry is tragically awful in just about every way. At least Leigh Janiak's movies have more going for them. Here, though, we've got lackluster acting, ugly as hell cinematography, half-assed but requisite generational trauma/drama because why the eff not, the most cursory and desperate needle drops, a string of no-suspense kills, and worst of all, absolutely zero charisma from any one character before reaching the biggest "no duh" unmasking I've seen in years. I've said it before and I'll say it again; we need to raise our standards before this truly becomes the norm. I fear we're too late, though...

You're missing out on the greatest decade the genre ever experienced.
Literally just a schizo, it's a good "subversive" twist. They make you think he'll be a character in the film and have some motive you'll uncover, but nope. Just some random schizo that probably got molested as a kid and now likes killing women.
