The books are mostly pretty good, with the highpoints being kino. As is famous in the fandom, the author can't write females to save his life so most of the female POV's are horrible with the exception being Birgitte and Moiraine. Even then Moraine is kind of ruined near the end when she ends up with RJ's self insert character.

Fair enough, I remember skipping chapters of characters I found boring during my first reading of it so I can't say that it's completely inaccurate. That being said, any long fantasy series can be called bloated including ASoIF or LoTR.

The love triangle was written so badly that most people didn't even realize that it even existed. And it was gone and forgotten by season 2. Also calling it a love triangle is a bit off the mark because Egwene never shows the slightest bit of interest in Perrin outside of being friends.

Egwene's arc is probably the worst out of all the main ones. The constant glazing of how cool and strong and smart she is was so forced.
Not to mention who she becomes some kind of White Tower fanatic to the point she puts the tower before helping Rand, and saying shit like she'd accept getting executed in order for the tower to be whole again. When in reality she spent like a year at most in there, when most Aes Sedai stay in there for decades.
