why can't they take the military aspect again? i don't give a fuck about some miners, I want to see more action involving the xenomorphs....
I like it. I have some hope that they'll keep this similar aesthetic throughout
youtu.be
There’s military
You do understand that tv shows have arcs and take time to go through a story, to build stuff up? That it isn't just two hours long and jumping into the most intense action at the first minute? You have no idea if they don't have the military aspect involved.
bonus situation?
Dropped.
Interesting, so it seems they are going back to original Alien aesthetics like they did with Romulus?
I think that's good, they should streamline the aesthetic of Alien and continue to use a similar aesthetic in new media.
Old alien pic
Alien had an aesthetic that was in line with futuristic designs in 1979
In the age of corposlop we are not allowed to stray away from this ever lest the audiences feel unsafe
Just looking at this guy I can tell he's 100% more of a pussy than Yaphet. Jesus, is this how I'd look put up against Skerritt?
Before we post more, I think we have to discuss the bonus situation.
Where's Lambert? And Jonesy?
it's better than pink-and-aqua alien coventant glass screen sloppa,
bro
Go and fuck yourself, retard.
Meh, I'll give a try but I want the classic 90s space marines from the previous movies... I do wonder why they are so afraid of bringing them back....
You don't want it to look the same, then don't make it. And the only reason the Alien is even a problem is because of old shitty technolgy. No one has cameras everywhere, cell phones, and perfect wifi. The damn motion detectors barely worked and constantly gave the humans bad signals.
AYO SQUEEZE IT XENO
Will you listen to the man, Parker? If we don't go, there will be no bonus.
wow another movie filled with black and brown people, i can't wait to not watch it.
Jonesy was edited out of the tv broadcast because of that one scene where he talks to the camera .
ABC thought it was stupid
Parker was right the whole time. They should've just gone home and partied.
they would have lost the bonus tho
Jeepers! Did you folks see that monster? Oh, boy... This is a whopper of a problem. What's gunna happen next? I guess we'll find out after this intermission. Make sure to get more popcorn! It's hot and fresh.
*winks at camera*
True lost media.
Jeepers! Did you folks see that monster? Oh, boy... This is a whopper of a problem. Snack bar is open, visit out concession stand now!
MeOUCH....I don't care what galaxy you're from but thats GOTTA hurt
Hmm, guaranteed party or very unlikely and highly risky bonus? Decisions, decisions...
The bonus situation, though?
Kek! They all look like they're waiting for Bane.
The obsession with keeping the technology like that is so stupid. It's like they saw alien and that's all they got from it. It was a cargo ship. It makes sense it had utilitarian displays. That doesn't mean that has to be the standard. Prometheus and Covenant at least got that right. Disney is so stupid. They have 0 understanding of the IPs they buy. The irony is they are the Weyland corporation.
No. Your obsession with trying to fuck it all up in favor of apple ipads is so stupid. There's plenty of series for you already, so fuck off.
Siding with Disney
Style over substance
You're obviously wrong already.
fuck off, shill
You can't tell me with a straight face that wouldn't improve the theatergoing experience
ridley never has sex with lambert even though the film keeps teasing it
we were robbed
why is hollywood incapable of new ideas? everything has to be a remake, reboot, sequel, prequel, or adaptation now.
Why is there a crt display in that shot? I thought alien series happens in 2100, what am I missing here?
Evil can't create?
reminder you should play Alien Isolation (it's canon)
they announced they're making a sequel, too.
Blame Alien Isolation and idiotic Disney exacs
i hate that they try to keep the 70s future tech flashing lights and typing, but then have modern shit in these movies. pick one aesthetic.
I keep trying but I can't get into it.
blame the best Alien media since the first two movies, the thing that revived the franchise, and demonstrated what real fans actually want
No one liked your non-alien crap, Ridley. And it's time for your nap.
not without weinstein
Your loss then. Just watch the digital series on youtube.
The MU/TH/UR 6000 room in alien is worst part of film in terms of design. What are those Lights supposed to represent there are no labels and if you watch them they are just flashing randomly they are not conveying any information, just lights for lights sake , makes no sense .
t. electronic engineer
how, exactly? it's very accessible, even my giganormie gf enjoyed playing through it on easy difficulty
It's built around a gimmick. All it has is good visuals. The creature AI doesn't seem to be that good. However, to be fair, i've only watched lets plays of it.
look into AI mods, you can diddle the Alien or white guys out of it
I personally hated that I hide but the Alien finds me
but anon if you hide in the same place
but what, if he didn't find me in the locker the first time he won't find me the second time either... it ain't like he'd been prowlin the station for a few days and just discovers lockers because I am hiding in one
heckin sloppy AI
no, it's not. it's a fucking rad design.
the problem is that it should NEVER be used again, and that's exactly what's happening.
its just random computer stuff from time people had no idea what they were or did, so star trek tier design.
just highlights the point: the game is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to long and repetitive for what it is
t. played up till around a fifth of it
It was the style at the time.
take you meds, it doesn't mater
I know. That's why that statement is too simplistic. But there's some truth in it still I suspect. It's almost like it's not necessarily evil per se but evil assumptions. People are now widespread materialistic nihilists with no appreciation of underlying beauty or belief in the soul or supernatural or in evil beyond human agency. It has a chilling effect on creativity because it's frozen out by assumptions. Also people are just more stressed/distracted and with less free time to create
The MU/TH/UR 6000 room in alien is worst part of film in terms of design.
because you are stupid
What are those Lights supposed to represent
memory registers... white people stuff

pajeet
Exactly which is what's so funny that Disney decided that it's ESSENTIAL that it's recreated light for light. It just exposes how vacant and soulless the entire operation really is if that's what they think is the ESSENCE of alien, the superficial design choices on the ship guided more by budget and tech limitations of the time period it was created than anything important to the plot.
Will we see a full human to cocoon to egg sequence?
they are putting their hope in instagram and tiktok algorithms recommending (or distributing) them videos instead of other human beings
the only way to end it is to end the internet and never let plebs use it again
It's not about difficulty, I don't really care about that. I honestly don't really have a good reason, I'm sure the game is well made. But I've tried like 5 times and every time I spend a lot of time walking around, start to realize i need to spend 18 hours listening to audiologs and wandering around and then decide to not do that.
I'm sure If I gave it a serious chance I'd eventually get into it, and be like I shoulda played this earlier. Dunno what to say, I've tried and it refuses to suck me in.
I still need to play Dark Descent too which I was actually enjoying a fair bit
Aliens in da Hood
I'd unironically rather watch that
Predator 2
Lambert's tomboy power stance
I don't agree. I loved it and played it multiple times through. Best Alien sequel, actually makes sense and jives with the rest of the canon of the first two. And the characters were great. Working Joes should have been in Romulus even. Way better than just putting Ash in there again. I'd rather replay it than watch any of prometheus.
I am happy for you anon
Look, moron, if it's set at the same time period, then things look that same. Just shut the fuck up and stop whining over nothingburgers. Don't like it, then go watch something else.
I wonder what Jonesey is up to these days
neutrino detectors
t. played up till around a fifth of it
the way zoomers actually brag about rage quitting like pussies
No wonder you like Disney slop. You are incapable of distinguishing the time period that it was created from the time period of the fictional universe. Letter of the law vs spirit. Algorthimic decisions on a formula vs creativity., you prefer algorithmic copying without thought vs creating something new. Romulus was atrocious but it made things look right so it gets a pass.
A large amount of players never get past the level when the Xenomorph is introduced. They're too scared to face it. But they'll still mock the horror movie protagonists for not doing the perfect thing under stress.
He does consulting work for Garfield cartoons.
Couldn't get into it. I miss all the cool and spooky scripted events because I'm always looking for loot or luring human npc's around a corner and beating them to death. I enjoyed reading and listening to the terminal messages though.
Isn't that a supercomputer room where you ask shit from an AI? Don't get me wrong, I don't like that shitty design either but those light might be representing network.
XENOMOFUKAS DINDU NUFFIN HE A PERFECT CREASHAWN!
welcome ta ayylium erf
when it will be released anons
The problem with the Alien aesthetic in 2025 is that it's retrofuture, or "future" from the perspective of 1979.
and what's the problem?
Why is that a problem though?
This is why Disney slop (and AI) is proliferating. Simulacra and simulation of creativity is enough for you.
OH NOEZ! Everything in scifi isn't infinite swarms of femtobots like I demand! This is why the West has fallen!
swarms of femtobots like I demand
???
Fuck off already, shill..
It remains the greatest VR game that I've played, aside from maybe Resident Evil 4. It's a shame that the guy no longer supports it, and a Steam update made it a pain in the ass to get up and running.
The real kicker is that the guy who made that mod was working on a Halo Master Chief Collection VR mod, which would have been fucking incredible, but got hired on by 343 Industries, and completely stopped working on the project.
I met him a few years ago at Comic Con , he was signing autographs
No way this is real
Holy shit, the Xenomorph looks really good this time
The looore of Alien dude so much loore to learn so I'm such a nerd XD
Your partner character in that recent VR game (which I guess is getting a non-VR update) is a Working Joe with an actual functioning AI.
That game isn't as good as Isolation, but still a lot of fun. It randomly spawns xenos in, and the only way you'd know they're there is because you get a little blip from your motion sensor.
I just want to see a cool looking alien or aliens creeping around a cool-looking sci-fi setting killing a (hopefully) likeable cast of characters.
Right! Humans would never design just a wall of lights and buttons and gauges. That’s insane!
One of the worst things about franchises is when they hit the point where they start self referencing themselves.
Oh fuck we just have to have discount Parker/Yaphet Kotto oh we need a discount Ripley etc
Zero information conveyed on these panels of blinking lights.
thats a nigger
dumb fucking nigger with the attention span of a goldfish
Humans would
Redditor detected. Opinion discarded.
bone us?
There is nothing inherently wrong with revisiting futurism or retro futurism on an IP already defined by that aesthetic. Changing an established identity is far worse as it attempts against consistency. In any case the problem would be the act of revisiting the IPs at all to capitalize on nostalgia on itself.
Exploration should be saved for self contained isolated projects but that would make impossible to ignore the elephant in the room wouldn´t it? Namely that the lack of strong author inputs has left us with a decade (or two) devoid of stylistic identities.
There is no contemporary age defining aesthetic. The closest observable phenomena would be the rise of woke media, which has shifted the focus from technical, artistic and narrative aspects to political aspects. Since the artistic part it´s meaningless to it, it can use all previously established styles to propagate itself. Furthermore rather than creating something new that would need to gain traction and build interest from scratch it chooses to use media that already have established audiences.
In short, it doesn´t need to create a contemporary style or anything new to express what it wants to express.
