New episode is up. what do we think?
Rehearsal
YOU'RE KNOWN FOR PRANKIN'
nathan finds out all his fans are autistic retards
LMAO
i wasn't known an aviation authority, but maybe by mistake I was an autism authority
more like
Nathan discovers he is an autistic retard
the autism test is killing me
retards who don't understand nathan is doing a character will use this episode as evidence he has autism
Did you get the questions right
autism lady trying to guild nathan into letting her use his airport warehouse.
kek this is too much
yes. it was quite obvious.
guilt*
fuck god damnit i need to rehears my posts
I got both of them wrong. I thought playful was actually irritated and I thought upset was terrified
oh I love Vancouver yeah I went to Alaska 30 years ago
aaaaaaaaaaa where's the link
not gonna lie i didn't see the season going to this direction. his actual plan to make them role play IN the cabin is kind of retarded
i unironically thought both questions were kind of hard
bros... do i have the tism
what a fucking ending.
Is the autism community going to turn on Nathan for pretending to be autistic or can they not tell?
yeah he's kind of torpedoing his whole idea for laughs. just having some training seminar where they do a lot of roleplay would've made way more sense
wait so did he get the committee meeting or not
nah, most viewers are dumbasses who take the show completely at face value, they're going to see this episode as irrefutable proof that he's "one of them"
i'm curious what the autism lady who seemed to be a huge fan of the show thought of the episode and Nathan's awkwardness in the meeting. Obviously he was playing that up, right?
obviously not, the dude clearly thought the idea was retarded
also if nathan had already met with a subcommittee for the show, we'd have heard about it on the news or something a year ago
nope. dude basically said "ok we just need to get pilots to talk to each other more. got it" and told nathan to take a hike
If i learned anything by being in fishtank threads its that autistic retards can't tell the difference between jokes and reality and they take things very seriously so they will just think
wow he is literally me
I could have sworn something came out awhile ago about Nathan coming out of a building in DC but maybe that was him just researching for the premise
that was so abrupt it took me off guard.
anyway yeah Nathan is on to something, but he's clearly sabotaging it for humour, which I get, but I kind of wish he would take it more seriously.
yes he was obviously playing it up. they probably discussed how it would go down ahead of time and planned that out. in return, her org got some press and they got to use the airport set which was probably legitimately helpful
maybe HBO paid off all the news offs to not report on it
playing that up, right?
Playing what up? He was just a normal cool guy. That test was just hard
...or maybe it was literally for the meeting we saw this episode
nathan couldnt out jew the giga jew Cohen
I thought he was more powerful than this
he would have done better if he had rehearsed.
i meant when he actually got the meeting with the guy without rehearsing. seemed like he was playing up being nervous or some might say autism
Honestly I thought he could have if he had a better thought out exercise pilots could do. You could tell the guy checked out during that part
yeah he kind of fumbled the bag there. I assume it was done intentionally, because I don't think Nathan is stupid enough to think that was legitimately a good idea and I'm sure with all the effort he's put into this, he's come up with better versions. I think he was purposefully deflating it, maybe because he doesn't actually want to commit to the issue beyond the season of tv he's making. curious to see where the finale will go to wrap this up.
assburgers authority edition
i agree. it kind of kills any sort of sincerity that he had riding with it. honestly if he somehow got the meeting in a legit way while also making one of the best things he's ever done he would get way more respect from me
I will stand by that 2nd example being terrified
i want to sex this milf
autism confirmed to be fake bullshit
He can't take it seriously because he's autistic.
anyone have a link yet
it was pretty based that she was a big fan and even thought that him getting criticism about season one wasn't fair
most autists have either social anxiety or OCD
true autists obsess over obscure topics like 1965 baseball cards or the mating differences between caterpillar species
just get qbittorent and install the search function. torrents come online for the rehearsal 15 minutes after hbo release you just search and download
after this episode i suspect Nathan might actually suffer from sociopathy
i would argue that the kind of "autism" they are pretending nathan has is an incredible gift and doesn't count as a disability in anyway. having a creative mind that can make you a millionaire tv star is not a disability. i fucking hate this whole "neurodivergent" shit because having a brain that's not a dumbass npc brain and instead is unique and different is a GOOD thing, and if you have a little social anxiety who cares just drink or something or takes some lsd and remove your ego entirely.
He's jewish, he was born without a conscience
Nathan’s comment about how Colin wouldn’t even kiss his crush on the lips was the hardest I laughed in a while just so unnecessarily mean of him to say
takes some lsd and remove your ego entirely.
This just made me want to sit in a corner and waste away for years. I do not recommend anyone take it
Nathan initially catching on to what the lady was saying and possibly hinting Nathan was autistic and him trying to deny it was hilarious. the actual test was great too
Well that was dumb. I expected greatness from this season but it looks like it peaked with Pilot’s Code.
I’m wondering if Nathan had more planned but when the collision over the Potomac happened HBO pulled the plug on production and scrambled to get anything they had in the can.
it took you this long to realize?
im autistic
yeah it makes the show less impactful that he doesn't really seem willing to go all the way through with the high concepts he sets up. and the thing is, I know he could take it a lot further. it's still a funny show, but it could be a lot more than that. and if he isn't willing to really commit and take things to the end, I kind of wish he would just do things with smaller stakes. I started to feel this way towards the end of Nathan For You too, the early seasons when he was just doing low stakes goofy shit were the best. when it came to big things like suing Best Buy, the set up was great, but he always pussied out by the end. but then there's stuff like Finding Frances which shows he can take something higher concept to the next level if he wants to.
Got them both right with no trouble, it was a huge relief
kek
i like how Nathan added inspiring music to his speech/findings because his roleplay initiative was falling completely flat
not my experience at all, the years I was doing mushrooms and LSD were the most eventful and growthful years of my life. it's when I stopped taking them semi-regularly that I started doing nothing and wasting away - which then gets me into a negative mental state where I'm apprehensive to take them again.
anyway, they were some of the best experiences I ever had and I absolutely recommend it to people. it's certainly not for everyone, but I think if you go in with the right attitude and a willingness to work with them you can have a very positive outcome.
I've lol'd out loud in all eps this season and I don't usually. I don't want this show to end desu
Nathan is so brave for embracing his autism diagnosis. Especially at his old age; a reminder that living in a neurotypical-normative society tends to suppress the discovery of neurodivergence through life. I especially teared up when he brought up the term 'masking' to Mr. Cohen. I've never felt so represented, heard, and loved before watching this Episode. Thank you Nathan, welcome to the autism community. <3
Probably my least favorite episode this season, and its not because I'm autistic
yeah, that guy gave zero fucks after Nathan started talking about aviation. this meeting was set up only because of his autism work
using actually-autistic kids for the butt of your joke
getting away with it by genuinely convincing the twitter hordes that there is wholesomeness behind everything you do
It was really funny when the autism lady brought up the Daddy debacle with that poor fatherless kid last decade, probably some of the most sociopathic shit I've ever seen on television knowing Nathan treated that entire thing as a joke + even parodied the kid in a "rehearsal". I do love unapologetic sociopathic jews.
Yeah its easily the weakest, and also the shortest. He should have pranked the autistic kids and have them rehearse a terrorist attack when they showed up
29 minutes
what a fucking kike
The 9/11 rehearsal is the finale, hold the line bros, kino WILL arrive soon.
Y-yeah
Sucks that the season peaked with milk guzzle. He should've made this the penultimate
i just did that for shits and giggles. to this day i still laugh at the black guy obsessed with bar quizzes
NO, sir, you don't get it... your show saved my life
More like both
ep1: 5/10
ep2: 6/10
ep3: 10/10
ep4: 7/10
ep5: 5/10
episode 5 was the best because it overpromised turning a joke into a political movement
Nathan getting people to call The Rehearsal "introspective comedy" is probably the funniest bit he's done in his career
unironically i never really understood what autism is. all i know is that extremely autistic people blink a lot and some of them are uncanny-like. i don't really fucking know if autism is even a real thing, seems made up for welfare or disability purposes. also i don't have autism and passed the eye test
Is he really not going to make one of the pilots do this? I really thought he was going to make a stupid elaborate thing and present that to the guy but he just had a gay little presentation of a simple 3 line dialog. Next episode better be fucking hilarious to make up for this dud
This is the only TV show I’d go as far as to calling a Greek tragedy. Man’s hubris in thinking he can perfectly rehearse his life from cradle to grave. I fucking kneel to the Fieldler Method.
embrace-autism.com
I got 25/36 and have no idea what that means.
it was the weakest episode so far. it could've been good if it pivoted to nathan being diagnosed as autistic, but his pitch at the end didn't feel sincere and the show at least has to feel sincere to work
He knows the entire concept of a "rehearsal" and all of the other antics he's thought up of is fucking retarded the humor comes from him actually getting people to commit to this shit
He looked like he aged 20 years from the last episode, what happened?
captcha: M4AGA
Yeah its like he was taking the piss out of the whole thing and purposefully crashing it for a bad joke about "haha i didnt rehease it because im not autistic."
Next episode better build on it or the whole season will be a failure.
I only just got into this show and watched everything up to this point. Holy shit the kissme episode, that one chick even let a dude take her bra off, you just know he sucked her tits too. Right in front of her boyfriend jeeeeeeeesus. For nothing. You're not even playing an actual character, you're not even in a real scene, it's not even for an actual show it was purely just for data collection and this chick was willing to go full porn. Insane.
Last episode of the first season with the kid with no dad getting attached to him was fucked up.
This whole thing has made me check out Nathan For You and god damn, nathan genuinely is like a jewish demon or something. He is chaos incarnate. He just comes in and fucks with people on levels i've never seen before. He really is just a conniving trickster.
How come almost every time its a woman's eyes they make it something sexual? This test sucks!
nathan genuinely is like a jewish demon or something
Lol. N4Y is fucking great. I rewatch it every few months. After finishing the Rehearsal and N4Y, you absolutely need to watch The Curse.
Can't wait for the day the twitter crowd realizes that he isn't some heckin' cool mental-health bro but instead a legit jewish Patrick Bateman
OK Anon Babble
this redditor tried to warn them but nobody listened:
youtube.com
thing with the cuck shit in that episode, is that Nathan didn't make them do any of that. it wasn't in a script, they weren't directed to make out, they were only told to act like Colin would. the actors did all that on their own accord.
Nathan isn't making anyone do anything they wouldn't, he's just holding up a mirror to them and forcing these people to acknowledge what's under their noses all along. at the end of the day, it's probably for the best, that boyfriend was likely getting cucked anyway and needed to be shown the harsh reality to understand his girlfriend's actual nature. Nathan is the trickster god who isn't good or evil, he just makes people confront uncomfortable realities.
Is that why Colin is best boy
Nathan was right that test sucks. Some of them have 3 words that are all super similar and half of them is of a side profile of someone not even looking at the camera. Still got 23 right so if you have autism you probably need to score really low
Yeah i'm curious about The Curse also I think I will check it out. Nathan For You is insane I don't know how much more I can handle. I watched the episode where he helps a psychic get customers named maria and when maria thought the fortune was lame it was nathan's genius idea to get a an actual incel weirdo from his production crew to go hit on her. What the fuck man that is so cruel for both people involved.
My edible was hitting right when this fucker walked in the room and let me tell you I thought I was losing my mind.
Nathan shoulda fucked that mom who was probably a stripper from last season’s finale he already had a good rapport with her kid and she was hot
that one chick even let a dude take her bra off, you just know he sucked her tits too.
That part was obviously put it just for the episode. They had a camera set up and zoomed in for that moment? Come on now
I love jews. Especially Nathan Fiel(((der)))
N4Y uses a lot of editing tricks too remember that. I'd say about 70% of the show is real and 30% editing.
if you've ever had sleep paralysis the demons literally just look like this
agreed, that shot was definitely staged. people forget that it's a tv show and they do manipulate stuff to get a punchline. this guy is right
The curse is pretty tame in comparison. The way i describe it is you know how reality shows edit out all the bad stuff and only show the good? This show is filled with moments you wish you could edit out of your life. Its also a great commentary on the shitty fake liberal rich people that are only liberal because its trendy. Its just not as hard for me to watch because i know its all fake while n4y theres a hint of reality to it
For nothing. You're not even playing an actual character, you're not even in a real scene, it's not even for an actual show it was purely just for data collection and this chick was willing to go full porn. Insane.
I mean in her defense this is still an HBO show. How many struggling actors get a chance to be on HBO? guarantee she had to do kissing and sex scenes in some no name movies, playing a naked dead body in some csi episode or worse.
You sure can't stop thinking of them :)
Its just not as hard for me to watch because i know its all fake while n4y theres a hint of reality to it
I honestly found it harder to watch than anything else Nathan has does, because it's just pure cringe without much of the comedic relief that his other projects have. but you're right, it's not real, so it's a little easier to stomach at the end of the day. but man, sometimes you forget that, they did a great job making it incredibly uncomfortable.
True but what gets me is what this anon said how they weren't even directed much or anything, this was all entirely of their own volition. Wild to me the things women are okay with doing while being in a relationship. It's like the first episode of season 2 with the pilot moody and his starbucks girlfriend who is flirting with tons of guys and hanging out with them and getting gifts from them but thinks she is doing nothing wrong.
watch Nathan content without pausing to pace around the room cringing challenge
can you do it?
So N-word got that meeting by boasting Summit Ice to the jew pilot and the autism was just lame PR pandering? Rite? Clock it, safdie.
I truly can't.
what is the one single fielder bit (across all his shows) that you genuinely couldn't get through. mine is probably picrel
Who was in the wrong here?
The rehearsal has been pretty cringe free except for the fact that I don't have a qt Starbucks gf like that one guy
No man especially N4Y i pause multiple times an episode.
Jewish trickster god is the perfect description of nathan. That's exactly what he is.
I'm watching the episode right now where he got a drunk guy into a sumo suit and made him trash an antique store which he then has to pay for. There's no way this dude had to actually pay out of his own pocket right? That has to be where editing in comes. I mean what a devilish design.
Kissme was among the most I've ever cringed at Nathan, other than that this season hasn't been bad
What’s the difference between upset and terrified?
terrified is scared. upset is more just generally unhappy.
the show probably gave him cash to pay or reimbursed him, on another note that antique store started getting targeted violent harassments of randos crashing cars into the store lol
reddit.com
Honestly I don't really struggle with this. The only Nathan content I found difficult was the Curse, that shit was pretty fucking brutal, I had to take a few days between episodes sometimes. His father and law trying to bond with him over having microdicks and calling them the "cherry tomato boys" was about as hard as I've cringed at anything.
J SQUAD
Terrified is fearful, upset has more of a "sad" connotation.
Youre just retarded not autistic
you’re known for pranks!
Spaace? Looks we got ourselves a Reddit boy here!
LMAO yeah i just watched this
all my homies in ohio do this
SHOUT OUT TO J SQUAD
the scene when the whole crowd laughs too hard at the joke
kek
How did you anons do with the eye test? I got them both right.
Got 32 right and that feels pretty good.
OHHHHHH U WAN ME TO PARK YOR CAR?
holy fuck i'm dead
that one woman making cumming noises at the joke
its funny because they definitely directed the actors to do that for that specific tape and then nathan turns around and says "errrm guys... calm down"
I got 28/36, average. I am NOT autistic!
i always wonder how much he practiced that without fucking losing it. that's one of the moments in n4y where you can physically see him holding in it HARD
I got 29, phew.
Gimmicky hack
Does Salomon still work with Nathan behind the scenes?
Reading the posts here, I am slightly surprised that people find moments of this show "cringey" or "awkward", as well as moments from Nathan for You or The Curse. Regarding the latter show, Nathan even said during an interview that if people find moments of The Curse awkward, he wonders how they handle everyday social interaction, which is a sentiment I agree with.
Before you call me autistic, I got a 35/36 on the "Reading the Mind in the Eyes" test, so it's not like I am some robot that is incapable of understanding social interaction.
Anyway, to those who found moments of the above shows cringeworthy, I would advise going out into the real world and actually talking to people. You will realize that "awkward moments" are basically inevitable during social interaction, and once they happen enough, you become indifferent to them.
his whole thing though is taking mundane interactions and social conventions, and amplifying them to reveal the awkwardness that underscores real life but is generally glossed over. the Curse especially makes use of editing and direction to turn regular moments into nail biting anxiety. it's very purposeful. of course Nathan himself would downplay it, it's all part of his character to ignore the awkwardness and pretend like what he's doing is totally normal.
I scored 29/36 on the facial recognition test btw so I am NOT autistic.
