The internet was rocked when the first pic of maul leaked. Everyone thought there was no way TPM could possibly suck. George found a way.
Get toy rights back from kenner
jump into making a new star wars trilogy based on half assed first script
just constantly introduce new characters so they can become new toys
its amazing that the prequels turned out as "good"as they did considering how little Lucas cared about writing a decent story/script
INB4 prequel defenders
I'm saying the films are okay despite Lucas not caring. Why defend a man who didn't even care about the movies himself
Prequels had this for a villain. The sequels had a ginger and Adam Driver.
Kenner was always a subsidiary of Hasbro, which has made the SW toys to this day.
Same with Grievous
Disney in 10 years hasn't created a single iconic character design that comes even close to the visual brilliance of PT.
kek
The originals had Boba Fett.
I always saw his design lame. Didnt find him cool and so im happy he was killed in Episode 1 so they could introduce better villains later.
Maul was supposed to be the bad guy in Lucas' Sequel Trilogy. One of them, at least. Darth Talon and one other, were supposed to feature also.
A female sith could basically be a zoomzoom sex symbol really if they were allowed to be sexy and wear more revealing clothing
Grievous and Dooku are better.
Considering the mommy issues all zoomers have, the one that would cause unstoppable waves of waifufagism is Abeloth.
It's a criminal shame Iger wanted Lucas out of the Sequels, his own Saga. These are concept art from Episode 7 when Lucas was still working on it.
It was Abrams who scrapped that, Disney was planning to use Lucas' script because they wanted to start releasing movies as soon as they could.
shut up!
He was a good friend.
Just to play doubles advocate, babyfigs will never understand the absolute hype train that phantom menace had going into it.
Even if it was the greatest piece of cinematic genius ever produced it was going to have a hard time meeting expectations.
so if sith have le rule of 2 how do they continue to exist in the case of both vader and the emperor dying on the same day
It was Abrams who scrapped that
That isn't how movies work anon.
They threw george out because they didn't like his ideas and wanted a safe soft reboot of the franchise.
To be fair they did end up making him an underworld kingpin in that last season of Clone Wars that came out way, way later than the rest.
Lucas never meant to direct them, what Lucas did was leave them his sequel scripts he wrote.
Once Abrams was picked as director he just scrapped anything about following what Lucas wrote.
If Lucas wanted to direct them he wouldn't have sold Star Wars.
It was Iger + Abrams (+ Kennedy not holding Lucas up).
Here Iger tells Abrams he needed the first movie to be good (ie safe) so that the acquisition would be secured. He got cold feet about Lucas' bold new vision.

Lucas wanted to stay on as a story writer and producer for the Sequel Trilogy. Iger agreed to this but backstabbed him later.
If he wanted that he would have included it in the contract.
not true
Again: That isn't how movies work.
I never said lucas was going to direct them. Lucas didn't even want to write and direct the prequels, he only did it because Spielberg got tired of him bothering him about it and told him to just do the fucking movies himself. That's why you see spielberg all over the behind the scenes footage from the phantom menace, he was hanging around with his buddy and trying to help him out since lucas hadn't directed a movie in 20 years at that point.
The director doesn't throw the script away without the producers saying OK.
Your only arguments thus far have been predicated on your own ignorance.

Lucas stopped working on Star Wars the moment the sale happened.
hasbro didnt own kenner till the 90s
Iger should have said point blank he doesn't want to produce Lucas' story before getting him to sign the papers. He didn't, and he let Lucas hire Arndt to write the first screenplay for 7, before giving them both the boot. Iger is simply an cowardice asshole.
“George immediately got upset as they began to describe the plot and it dawned on him that we weren’t using one of the stories he submitted during the negotiations. George knew we weren’t contractually bound to anything, but he thought that our buying the story treatments was a tacit promise that we’d follow them, and he was disappointed that his story was being discarded. I’d been so careful since our first conversation not to mislead him in any way, and I didn’t think I had now, but I could have handled it better.”
Lucas stopped working on Star Wars the moment the sale happened.
Not true. He hired Michaeld Arndt to write script for Episode 7.
Michael Arndt was hired by Lucas and Kennedy to write the script for Episode VII. His script is based on Lucas’s treatment. A lot of the concept art in the “Art of The Force Awakens” book was developed for Arndt’s script. Lucas’s Episode VII was basically what Arndt was writing.

Lucas walked away with billions of dollars. I think he will be okay. His legacy and wallet is pretty damn secure no matter what Disney does.
There's no mention of Lucas there, just Kennedy and Lucasfilm
How do modern people even have mummy issues when we're all raised by single mothers?
single mothers cant neglect kids

thank god he got a masterpiece of a movie and two great tv shows before that
Maul was cool because of limited screentime.
Overexposure has made him lame and whiny
Zoomies can't understand this simple concept. They think everything needs to be endless sequels and contrivances to come back a thousand times until fans are just too tired/disgusted to continue watching. Probably so they can make idiotic "when did it die/what was the worst one" memes
