Not really though. The crux of the original book was that even the most violent criminals can change, as Alex actually reformed in the original novel. Thus, taking away criminals' free will is bad because it robs the world of a reformed criminal (lol).
While the US book release and movie changed the ending to where Alex remained evil, it still asserted that taking free will away from criminals was bad because it's pointless because they will be magically un-brainwashed and become violent again. Either way it paints the Ludovico program as bad and Alex, despite being a savage criminal, as its victim.
