What happened to GoPro?

Imagine gopro being apple, but then along came android and did the job much better but at 1/20 the price.

most phones became water proof/resistant and people were already carrying them every day

but apple is worth more than google

inside info: they're gonna blow up again this summer with the release of the new StopPro, a cellphone camera jammer, $29.99, wind resistant.
Buy that dip

t. bagholder

everyone who wanted a GoPro got one, and now they have competetors who arguably do a better job.

replace apple with gopro, android with china, and add a few zeros to 1/20

That would be a great invention.

Imagine gopro being gopro, but then along came china and did the job much better but at 1/20000 the price.

yeah exactly

Drones came along and wrecked their shit

bitcoin is a sca-ACK

I always turn any footage off straight away if i detect gopro because i know i don't want to hear that aggravating mic dragging on plastic box rattle sound

GoPro revolutionize Anon Babble?

How are these concepts even remotely related...? I don't understand.

There a million cheaper competitors. Half the kino gore footage from war zones now is captured on Chinese knock offs. Which is necessary because with all the bombing and shooting you need a lot of them.

i don't want to hear that aggravating mic dragging on plastic box rattle sound

It's really annoying, I do the same thing if there's too much of it. Same thing with wind noise

Why did a company with a single product line in a niche category need to be publicly traded?

im retarded...

Radical Henry type shit my nigga, dey wuz gunna make movies like dem playstaiton fps games my nigga

Shitloads of competitors. Both in the same-price-higher-quality area, and the lower-price-but-same-quality area.
Modern gopros are known for overheating and shutting down after recording for 10 minutes.
They also completely missed the "360 cam" thing.

Hardcore Henry fucking sucked. But GoPro is passable for filming porn, I guess.

However, that's not Anon Babble either.

When the debuted the idea was pretty revolutionary, there were ruggedized video cameras before it but none where nearly as small and they were usually prosumer to professionally priced. GoPro was small enough to mount anywhere and inexpensive. They were a victim of their own success as it didn't take long for everyone else to catch on and make their own competing products.

I think the form factor of GoPros was always bad though... it should have been more barrel-shaped like the one Sony made than a cube.

They should unironically let a smartphone manufacturer buy them (like Beats did with Apple) and let them put their camera tech into smartphones.

What camera tech? They don't make any of their own chips or sensors they just assemble it in an indestructible package. That's why they're worthless

Also my question

That doesn't really answer my question. GoPro started shipping cameras in 2004 and went public in 2014. I'm not seeing the reason they needed that cash. They had a failed drone and that's basically it outside of their core action camera line. Looking at it, is mostly right. Until like 2018, their products just used off the shell components (Sony image sensors, Amabrella SOCs), so it's not like they were investing in unique tech and needed to keep up.

They should've tried pivoting into government contracts once the Chinesium stuff started flooding the market. Make body cameras for the cops or something. Instead, it looks like they're trying to build service revenue through a subscription app.

The camera was a mistake.

I'm not seeing the reason they needed that cash.

You don't see a reason why a company would need cash?

Well, beyond greed, in which case, the company's current situation is deserved.

a cellphone camera jammer

If it works with police bodycams then I can imagine every black person in America buying at least one.

You can film a whole movie on a smartphone and stick it in a ziplock bag if you want. Whats the point?

greed

Retard

they keep releasing cameras that are worse and worse repeatedly

Their newest camera has 50 minutes of battery life and 3 minutes of cooling (assuming it's at room temp) which makes it fucking useless unless you have 4 of them, and who's paying 3k for 4 cameras to get 12 minutes of footage?

Not normal people. Redbull? Idk.

Jammers only work on wireless signals so no

Forced 4k on old tech, shit started overheating 24/7. They wont be missed.

commercial jammers only work on wireless signals

How else are jews going to fleece goyim off their money?

What do you think jamming is anon?

First to market, didn't innovate and rested on their laurels until competition ran right past them. A tale as old as time.

I've seen enough when Peter Jackson dared to slip some GoPro footage in The Hobbit.

Most FPV drones have a gopro mounted onto them, though, its literally how FPV droning got started.
