Would an Oblivion movie work?
Would an Oblivion movie work?
Morrowind would be more esoteric and cool
Elder Scrolls Movie would only work if it was written with good writers a creative director with original ideas for the series and no corporate melding unlike the dogshit fallout miniseries
Are there any good body type 2 performers who'd be suitable for the role?
Elliot Page
Not one single video game adaptation was good. But they do make a lot of money so it doesn’t matter
Nothing I'd like to talk about.
it's called the Lord of the Rings trilogy
Morrowind would be more esoteric and cool
Anon Babble fellates the shit out of this game
try it out
its fucking shit
bro - its good with mods
Fuck you.
No, it's an RPG game where you choose your own adventure. Same reason why a Baldurs Gate or Mass Effect movie doesn't work
Mass Effect is already a movie
it's like why the fuck they made the last of us adaption when the games themselves are mostly a movie
TLoU adaptation really doesn't make any fucking sense unless I guess they want to make something for double the money for people who don't play video games?
BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND
Fuck off Anon Babbleermin
this.
oblivion and skyrim are both normie material now.
anyways a movie now would just be woke slop
Bosmer rogue Ellen Page is something I could get behind.
your own fault for not being able to scumread autists
Oblivion took so much from lotr, destroying the IP in the process, it basically already is
Morrowinds length and more mature and philosophical themes would require a TV show
Found the perfect actor to play the emperor.
Even skyshits shat on Oblivion, but now it has muh remake they're gonna lawd it as a goat
Emporer will obviously have to be black
Tired of boomers pretending Morrowmeme was good. It was shit and also unfinished.
Redguard would be a fine adaptation were it not for the fatigue
Unfinished is valid.
the old score PG element is incredibly easy to learn and work around if you're not a complete mouth breather. like did none of you nerds play DnD or did you just not have any friends?
Would an Oblivion movie work?
No it wouldn't.... look at how Hollywood did "Warcraft"..... Hollywood can't properly make a story-heavy adaptation of a game without stripping everything that made the game what it was.
All the best RPGs back then were unfinished
You're still supposed to roleplay, exploits are easy to ignore
You're still supposed to roleplay, exploits are easy to ignore
I wasn't even saying you need to exploit if you just understand the basics of how an RPG system works you can play the game completely straight.
Any news from the other boards?
no. maybe it could work as a prestige series, but not a movie. it would be too hard to show any sort of significant plot without getting bogged down in explaining lore. if they didn't actually try to adapt any plot of the game and just went the mario/minecraft movie route of the whole movie just being "look at this thing from the game" then that could be done, but then they'd have to follow that same isekai-like structure but fans would be disappointed in that for a story heavy series (it was fine for mario/minecraft where the story is irrelevant)
The oblivion plot is definitely straight forward enough to be a movie
Do you think what happened to Anon Babble could happen here?
Jack Black as adoring fan
"BY AZURA! It's the grand champion!! Graaaand champioooonyeaaaaaaoooh!"

I encountered a discussion of video games on Anon Babble the other day - horrid things.
The Oblivion main plot is so boring. you can complete it in a few hours. The best parts of the story are all the side quests.
getting bogged down in explaining lore.
something like elder scrolls is almost more interesting when you don't know what's going on. you know all that stupid lore and get bogged down by that it loses a certain touch.
What drew me into oblivion was I'd never seen such an open world game like that before with such a deep amount of information about the world. Or even as you're going through the story or directing with people there's names and concepts and places and time that mean nothing to you. it never should.
Bosmer
a drum and penis spear.…nigger elves
“”””esoteric””””
Id let her cannibalize my dick if you get my meaning.
You say it like it's a bad thing.
That may be true for gayblivion but that's so fucking sad. They made it so generic.
Morrowinds is genuinely far more interesting the more you learn because the lore is so complete and in depth and works with the plot perfectly. It's actually unique and interesting and has some interest philosophical ideas, like suggesting all the gods and prophecy are false. Im not saying the extra lore, which there is tons of, is excellently written but it is good quality and original.
They trashed that series. They even advertise eso as generic fantasy now.
Tamriel has fallen...
Actually, you're kinda right about that. I didn't play morrowind until a decade after I first played oblivion. And that's mostly due the fact I knew it was a really deep game with a lot of mechanics that take some time to learn so I just always put it off. Once I actually did play it I really was drawn into the game's story more than the gameplay or anything. Which I think the poor combat and stuff almost plays into it more to that's not what you're worried about you're more worried about learning more little tidbits of information or moving the plot ahead.
Oren is almost better seen as just entirely an interactive novel that you also have to left click a lot.
