Dragon Ball 1986-1989

Zzz Zzz Zzz Zzz Zzz Zzz Zzz

It's fine.

More down to earth, silly, some of the best fights in the series, before power creep and beam spam set in. What's not to love?

me on the left

kino opening

bulma is a sexy ass ho

ROMANTIC AGERU YO

You're brown

God-tier until after Red Ribbon when it just becomes standard shonenslop

YWNBAW

God-tier until after Red Ribbon

Muscle Tower is a fuckin' slog

it's the best dragon ball anime series hands down. only total morons(which is basically every idiot that unironically watches shonens) will disagree.

Yeah, I rewatched DB and it is fucking ridiculous how much powercreep there is.
A dude with the power level of 200 could flick, with a single finger, a concrete column and kick it and use it to fly across across the world.

nah it's boring. good for treating insomnia though

stick to yoyo simpleton.

I love early Dragon Ball, I love the way it looks.
The 2nd world tourny was fun, I also like Baba's fighters being based off universal movie monsters.

Exactly the reason why there aren't any modern DB games.

Only DBZ, Super and even GT

until after Red Ribbon

after

Red Ribbon was awful should've ended with 21st Tenkaichi Budokai the gags were already getting stale

Bulma being a horny teen bimbo was always entertaining, but the rest, yeah, started getting old. Probably why the sales for Dragon Ball started to tank after awhile in Japan, until the tournaments

love the capsule corp bottles. the sound, the concept

Goku should've married Sno instead of that bossy bitch ChiChi

the three movies they did are great, captures the essence without all the dragging of the tv anime

Low traffic thread, I guess the beaners are sleeping.

It's 8-9PM in LATAM. I think most of my fellow latinX chads just didn't like OP calling the original run boring.

We MexiCHADS don't give a fuck about silly childish OG Dragon Ball.

dude with the power level of

Giving a shit about power levels

Power levels actually mattered back then, you see?

Dragon Ball is as good as Z while also being better at world building and creating personalities. It's the perfect blend of adventure, action, and comedy.

The ONLY time power levelfaggotry mattered was the saiyans and half of the Frieza saga. It wasn't a vocal point in OGDB and it stopped being relevant by the time the Ginyu force was killed off. Stop clinging onto that shit when it had no real impact on the vast majority of the franchise. The only people who care about that shit are autists that want to confirm a character they like being technically more powerful than another character in this very specific period of time. That's it.

Perfect for an open world action RPG and we get more Z garbage like picrel.

Power level measuring was a cool thing Raditz did when he first arrived, as an example of how the tech he had access to was far beyond anything on Earth. Toriyama kept going with it as far as Namek, since the scouters could detect energy readings, but without it, you'd be helpless to notice anyone nearby unless you were trained how to. Power levels beyond Namek's Dragon Ball hunting didn't serve any narrative purpose, so Toriyama just let it go

It's kind of crazy how Vegeta think he's can compete with Freeza after a few near-death powerups. Shouldn't Freeza's power level common knowledge or something?

Frieza's first form's power Vegeta got a good measure of, which is why he thought he could overcome him at first. Zarbon and Frieza being able to transform and gain incredible power was a secret nobody knew of. When Vegeta learned of Zarbon's transformation power and surmised Frieza could do it too, he didn't think it would be as outrageously powerful as it ended up. That Frieza could transform multiple times on top of it, was even more of a shock Vegeta couldn't have forseen. Even Goku was taken aback and thought Frieza was bluffing when he said he was only using 50% of his maximum against him and the fight was essentially hopeless

Frieza.jpg - 1280x720, 110.97K

power levels are stupid anyway because they were based on reading chi/ki fluctuations and androids 19/20 didnt even have ki but still laid out half of the z warriors with ease

DB > DBZ > Daima > DBS >>>>>>> DBGT >>> SDBH

Go back to Anon Babble

thanks for adding nothing, retard.

Daima

kek

Oh so you're just being a contrarian retard and pretending that wasn't some of the best DB content we've gotten in 30 years.

Daima better than Super

Delusional

would have been cool to see an actual payoff to the epic 20 episodes of bathroom scenes and filler other than the most obvious ending they could have done

Daima was hot shit, who are you kidding?

contrarian

How is he a contrarian? There wasn't hype around Daima. People only cared about SS3 Vegeta and SS4 Goku. People all around the world enjoyed the Tournament of Power way more

stupid gringo

It literally is better in every single way

Super

Gokus 2.jpg - 2209x768, 178.12K

The contrarian aspect is that everyone who watched Daima enjoyed it while not facing much of the blatant criticisms the previous shows have gotten when they released. Daima both critically and with audiences is universally liked. It has nothing to do with some hypothetical hype situation you created or how many people watched a particular event. not that we know for sure what the numbers were on Netflix. I'm pretty sure we only know how many Japanese people watched it when it was airing live.

And with good comedic relief. It felt like a fun adventure show for kids, because it was.

holy shit that animation is incredible. it's like movie quality

It felt like a fun adventure show for kids, because it was.

The only show in the entire franchise with nudity and dirty jokes

okay dude.

I can't believe Chichi is fucking dead, guys.

That's why you didn't even attempt to prove me wrong LMAO. Cope.

daima.webm - 1280x720, 2.55M

Oh kids can handle that just fine, there was never anything too mean spirited or lewd. You're just a sheltered fat boy.

there was never anything too mean spirited or lewd. You're just a sheltered fat boy.

How many Ls do you want, anon?

first of all, this is the manga, not the anime.
second of all, this is likely a fan translation that found it funny to put "fag" in their translation
third of all, is there anything wrong with a girl trying to seduce a guy, only for him to not care, for a cartoon gag? i think any kid could stomach that

Was Blue actually gay or just not into slutty girls?

first of all, this is the manga, not the anime.

Oh so then its perfectly fine and not mean spirited or lewd for a 15 year old girl to flash a pedophiliac old man her pussy?

second of all, this is likely a fan translation that found it funny to put "fag" in their translation

It's literally not.

third of all, is there anything wrong with a girl trying to seduce a guy, only for him to not care, for a cartoon gag? i think any kid could stomach that

I have a lot of content so I wouldn't double down on this.

bulma ass.png - 3020x712, 3.22M

everything about the red ribbon army was "mean spirited" going by whatever the fuck that means. commander red was slaughtering normal people and his own men left and right over petty shit. more regular people died on-screen during the RR arcs to gruesome deaths than any pussy laser beam shit in DBZ

Oh so then its perfectly fine and not mean spirited or lewd for a 15 year old girl to flash a pedophiliac old man her pussy?

Roshi isn't a pedophile, this hyperbole of yours is why nobody takes you seriously.

nobody takes you seriously

even though I'm the only retard who keeps responding and getting dunked on.

Anon please. I hope the FBI seizes your computer you defensive little pervert.

Again with the fucking hyperbole, you want to paint DB like it's Schindler's List.

No one claimed this but you acting like it's a little kids anime is objectively wrong.

The animation was at least nice to look at, plus bulma

It was more than just nice. It was some of the best animation of any of the shows while also producing a decent story for the first time since the original series that wasn't just formulaic battle shounen tropes of setting up villain and taking them down. they actually took the time to create a world, and flesh out secondary characters, and give everyone a purpose despite it's short runtime. It gave us the tone and charm of classic Dragon Ball while being as action packed as the best moments of Z. It's a damn good show.

bulma is pure sex. She should be breeding constantly with all the saiyans

She should be breeding constantly with all the saiyans

retard. she is for small shota cock only.

when she says she wants to stay young and age vegeta back to normal

ZAMN!

Daima's fight choreography is better than all of Super's easily and kind of kicks the shit out of most DBZ fights, tons of unique moves and combos

this.

I like Dragon ball 1984-1995

DBManga.jpg - 1000x1500, 237.53K

flesh out secondary characters

Yeah, such memorable characters like Glorio, right? Remember when he was flying the plane? Also correcting Goku when he mispronounced his name? They really took the time in the last two episodes to tell us all about his non-existing backstory too. I can't wait to see him again. He was great

Goku.jpg - 614x614, 50.89K

Also loved how out of nowhere Pany reveals she has psychic powers only to never use or aknowledge them again

Yeah, such memorable characters like Glorio, right? Remember when he was flying the plane? Also correcting Goku when he mispronounced his name?

You do remember him though LMAO.

They really took the time in the last two episodes to tell us all about his non-existing backstory too. I can't wait to see him again. He was great

I unironically agree. He was great. You know who else? Majin Koo. Hell, even Panzy is literally what everyone wanted Pan to be in GT.
