I have a feeling in a few years people are going to be doing what they always do when the economy tanks. They will be blaming immigrants and poor people.
I have a feeling in a few years people are going to be doing what they always do when the economy tanks...
after Don't Look Up I assume anything that McKay makes is full of bullshit propaganda
This movie was Gosling's best role ever
even though it's incredibly cheesy it captures a sort of zeitgeist you can't deny
the Big Short is movie. Margin Call is a film.
All I remember from this movie is that the guy that first noticed shit went down was a rocket scientist, bravo hollywood
I blame immigrants and rich people.
LOL
This never happened
There was a crash but nothing happened
Just like now there's a 'crash' but nothing is happening
Its heavy handed but I enjoyed it and it’s impossible to deny that it captures the essence of the american political scene perfectly.
And the part about the tech billionaires towards the end was the icing on the cake.
i passed on the movie because it just seemed like "climate change is le real, chuds!!!" lecturing. i don't have an issue watching content with views i disagree with, it's just the constant chiding/lecturing tone i find obnoxious. can you elaborate on your point? is it worth a watch?
It’s very funny
You really have to watch out for all those white bankers
This movie is so fucking bad, McKay just needs to beat everything into the audience's head in case there's a 6 year old watching it
It’s part of why the us must become minority white.
The most obvious metaphor is climate change sure, but I though it dug deeper at times how a large portion of people don't care about the actual truth anymore, and would much rather listen to a leader that tells them whatever they want to believe, even if that means to "not look" at what's actually happening. It's just what I see happening in the echo chambers of a continuously polarizing society on both sides. The media being a big circus of all this is also a part of it
His makeup and hair looked terrible
Oh it’s a film alright. A fucking boring one.
The first guy who noticed was an engineer, he tipped off the rocket scientist.
I cant wait for his sequel and how he plans on twisting this
this is one of the few movies where the exposition is justified
very interesting, i'll give it a watch. i'm a big fan of Metal Gear and Phantom Pain also dealt a lot with post-truth, the death of objective reality where people simply find the truth that suits them most and clings to it like a life raft as we're overwhelmed with information and can no longer parse what is real and what's fiction.
look at him. look at his eyes. notice anything? this guy won a math competition - in CHINA
Lots of financial firms have stem PHDs working for them. It's entirely ordinary
I know I'm one of those myself, but the financial market being like "it's not rocket science" is just a funny nod I think
Ask your parents what happened to their retirement fund in 2008 you braindead zoomer.
Maybe I'm out of touch, but the retards that protest against the stock markets are probably too poor/dumb to have any money in the stock markets no? Why would they care?
You just reveal your own ignorance.
Because the politiced media from which they get all of their opinions tells them to.
normies are literally brainraped 24/7 with fear porn that they are in imminent danger because orange man bad.
This wasn't in the book. It is insane that liberals will support mass immigration, a Koch brothers proposal that depresses wages, all because they hate white people. They are evil.
yea that scumbag used his office to let his inner circle cash out on some short options, but those normies are unaware or unaffected by that
who has a jenga set with letters on them
LBJ used to say that a white man will empty his pocket if you tell him he is better than a black man, but modern liberals will empty their pockets and surrender worker rights all to make sure they are told they are better than white middle americans.
But everyone was blaming bankers and rich people, random plebs didn't cause shit to collapse
Boomers. They protest against the stock market for that old-timey hippie vibe, but when something actually happens to it they get upset because it’s their nest egg for retiring on the golf course.
here's margot robbie in a bathtub to explain things
Jfc.

dot-com bubble burst
the 2008 crash
the covid economy
the trump slump
it just goes on and on and on. one crisis after another. never ending
And the price of their homes
No surprise nothing ever gets better when boomers control governments
Actually, my name's Jiang and I do speak English. Jared likes to say I don't because he thinks it makes me seem more authentic. And I got second in that national math competition.
stock market craters 10%
normies and boomers panic sell everything
neet chads like me invest and double my investment the next week
I'm almost tired of winning
