Interesting you'd choose this picture because Deadpool has arguably been the most comic accurate. Which is not a coincidence. And directly because of who created him and that person's history. Then Wolverine has actually made a lot of progress by this picture. Which again is because of all the people who created him. The companies for example Marvel doesn't own everything and never has.
It's never the real, actual comic book fan and readers who mental over this stuff. In fact, it's those guys who understand that comics and live-action are inherently incompatible and would prefer if DC/Marvel stories were adapted to animation. You're joking right? They've made a point of mentioning in the comics that his healing factor kicks in WHILE he's having a workout. He gets better gains than people who are juicing.
The whole point of calling the character Wolverine is that wolverines are not very large animals but are very fierce and routinely survive encounters with much larger predators such as bears. Wolverine is short but surprisingly tough, very hard to kill, gets the most out of his size. This is all central to the character. Making him 6'3" and long and lean or whatever negates all of that. Not to mention ruining the physical dichotomy between him and Cyclops, who actually is tall and lean i.e. the physical opposite of short stocky Wolverine.
The problem is the change in mediums, anons. No one takes manlets seriously in leading man roles where they're meant to be in the type of scenarios he's put into. Imagine a movie where Wolverine and Puck are running around fucking people up. It'd be viewed as a comedy.
