That really needs to happen in episodes 10-12. Rey tries to train new Jedi, but a new villian turns her to the darkside. Rey gets a love interest in the first movie, but in the next movie, episode 11, she tries to seduce him to the darkside. Then in Episode 12 her love interst becomes a Jedi and has to take on Dark Rey and her students who are now Sith apprentices.

The Kylo/Rey Light Side/Dark Side flip was the only way to potentially save the travesty and directionless shitstorm that was the sequels.

Beat me to it. It was the only promising thing TLJ could've done, and it didn't do it. Instead we got 2 and a half hours of pointless Finn/Rose side quest in a theme park planet and Poe getting girlbossed by KK's self insert. Entirety of TLJ should have instead focused on the Rey/Kylo dynamic with Rey ultimately going full dark side at the end in Snoke's chambers and Kylo having a moment of clarity to try repent.

Ep 9 would've been Kylo being shunned by the resistance while trying to help them, Zuko style, and him trying to bring Rey back to the light side with her being the ultimate villain of Ep 9, not fucking Palpatine.

Alernatively Rey could've just taken Kylo's hand when he offered it and that still would've been cooler than what we got.

I still reckon there was an earlier version of the TFA script where she was a decent character. When you saw her crawling around the star destroyer in the trailer I remember thinking 'OK, it might be kind of cool to watch this scavenger girl develop her survival skills to jedi level over three movies'. Somebody obviously had the right idea at some point.

She's unsalvagable. If I was put in charge and using her in some way was non negotiable then killing her early and using her death as the catalyst for a better story is the only option.
