Will this be the next big cultural phenomenon or completely forgotten in a year?

Since all modern shows follow the one season every two years format, it will be forgotten as soon as it arrives like Westworld.

They will be 30 by the time they get to the last book . Like the stranger things kids

new hermione is cuter.

Harry Potter is only popular with millennials and the stories themselves suck fucking ass.

If the show does something fundamentally different it might be worth it. I remember that the trio were supposed to be in different houses originally.

Remember the Halo show?
Expect that

Why wouldn't they do a season a year? That'll take 7 years max, not 30.

It will be pozzed and cause alot of fuss. Then people will move onto the next thing to cringe at like more capeshit and starslop.

Modern TV seems to move slow as fuck. You used to get 30 episodes of a show a year and now you get 6

I've already been forgetting it. I completely forget about this reboot after hearing about it the first time. I forgot again after being reminded of it the second time. and the third time. I have an "ohhhh yeah" moment whenever I see a thread like this but I can't seem to keep this project in my brain. I'm probably not going to see it because I won't know I'm missing anything because I don't know it exists.

The 30 year old spinsters that are still obsessed with Harry Potter probably aren't going to accept it. Gen alpha isn't going to get into it. Rowling is #CANCELLED and can't just publish another book to grow some public interest in the franchise.

yeah it'll go away and nobody will talk about it, just like capeshit a decade ago.

It depends entirely on whether it resonates with kids. I think it will be well executed but still heavily nitpicked by the millions of rabid Potter fans.
I am curious about the visual design though, since you'd think they want to keep it consistent with all the Universal parks.

They will be 30 by the time they get to the last book . Like the stranger things kids

This. The breaks between modern shows has gotten comically out of hand.

Why wouldn't they do a season a year? That'll take 7 years max, not 30.

What rock have you been living under?

Good casting

They will come up with all sorts of absurd changes to the story in order to differentiate it from the movie adaptation, everyone will hate them, and it will be cancelled after two seasons.

the movies skipped over loads from the books, if they make a closer adaptation that differentiates it massively from the start, they don't need to make 'absurd' changes.

Dead on arrival. Nostalgia ridden millennials will just watch an episode or two and end up going back to the books or the og movies. It'll be a meme online for a while for chuds Hermione is now not online a mudblood but also a shitskin and she will be an even more insufferable know it all than she is in the books, now she is not only a woman but also a minority. Ron will be even dumber than in the movies, he's gonna be a prop for Poo Hermione to show off how intelligent she is. Idk might pirate an episode or two. Pic related is book accurate Hermione btw

Here's the issue, the first two movies have like 80% of the book in them there's not much for them to fill in, so they will either have 2 books in one season or just have tons of worthless filler, which one do you think they will go for?

Like most mainstream media created with even a modest budget from the past 15 years it will be soulless slop designed to placate retarded cattle people while simultaneously taking their money and pushing propaganda.

normies will enjoy it and the seethe online will be endless, same as every other popular thing that gets released.

Rowling can't just publsih another book because she's a shit author, and her entire antitranny crusade is legitimately nothing more than seethe over the fact that a tranny once mocked her on twitter because Rowling went on a whinge-binge about how all you need to succeed as an author is a male name on the jacket and then wrote multiple complete flops under a male pseudonym.

How about stop with the fucking remakes? Is it truly, seriously difficult to simply set it years after the movies? Really? Is it?

That's not how it works anymore.

For example, there are more episodes of Star Trek, the original series, in 3 seasons than there are of Game of Thrones in 8 seasons.
We make TV slow as fuck these days and with far less episodes per season.

this

you are weeping chuddie
did JK Rowling hurt you, yeah?

Zoomies and Alphies don't read books. They can barely read at all. Only old ass millennials gonna go watch it and they gonna get turned off due to muh raped childhood.

cancelled after 3 seasons, like most streaming shows.

I love TOS but most episodes were made by reusing the same sets and props over and over again. Most episodes have fewer than 8 speaking characters. Harry Potter and GoT cover many different locations and have hundreds of characters popping in and out.

big cultural phenomenon

Nah but it will do good numbers and trannies will keep malding.

There's 0% chance it's gonna be more popular than the movies and 25% chance it's gonna go past Season 3. Nigger Snape alone tanked this shit hard considering how iconic Rickman was

Triple dubs confirm

Most of Harry Potter happens inside the school, especially in the early books, which also have a relatively small cast. It does start expanding from Goblet of Fire onwards but the first three years shouldn't have that problem.

The first three books/ movies were the only good ones too.

The problem is that Harry Potter is a strictly millennial thing. The books aren't THAT good to ensnare a new audience if you don't have that "growing up alongside the characters" factor, and they were released in a market with no competition whereas there are several YAslop releases out there now. Zoomers are hostile to JKR and whatever the name for the new kids, they don't read or care for books.

It's gonna be super mid and forgettable.

Well, that's just an argument for more time between seasons and less episodes.

Probably something Rowling doesn't want, since it would end up retconned and confusing to the audience if she decides to make sequel books one day. They could have set the show somewhere else in another school, but that would cost them most of the normies interest.

Well, the reason they're doing a reboot and recasting is to simulate the "growing up with the characters" thing again for a new generation.

all Hollywood can do these days is try to recreate earlier magic because its become creatively bankrupt

That's bullshit and tranny propaganda.
Zoomers don't care about hating Rowling and they read more than people thought, especially from recommendations they get from tiktok/instagram/etc.
We all know how much the latest video game sold despite the tranny boycott.
The rides are a big success

Guests Wait 5 Hours for Harry Potter Ride at Universal’s Epic Universe on Opening Day

Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry was swarmed by guests while the park's four other lands — even their thrill rides — saw low wait times of 5-20 minutes, park-goers reported

The books are still on top of charts even after all these years.

Soul vs Souless

Their making them to be kids again?
I thought it was supposed to be show for adult audience. Like more violence and sex/drugs
