Cybil Shepherd

During the filming of Taxi Driver, De Niro asked Cybill Shepherd out on a date. She turned him down, and he did not speak to her, except in character, for the rest of the filming

fucking twat.

Method acting.

What role was he researching when he did a fuckton of cocaine with Robin Williams and Jon Belushi shortly before Jon died alone?

broootal, even movie star prime young Deniro wasn't good enough for a stacy like Cybill Shepard

Must be hard to find a bloke that can compete with Elvis Presley.

Kill yourself

I'm more of a Jessica Lange guy if we're talking 70s blondes

Nothing wrong with Jessica, but Cybill was something else.

Like most shepherds Cybil hasn't worked in the last two hundred years

[Shepard speaking on her an Elvis's relationship] He’s a really wonderful, sexy, incredible guy,” Shepherd said. The Moonlighting actress also told Sway, “I had to teach him how to [go down on me].”

Damn... you can't compete with The King

By not changing at all? Which is what the reverse mirror bit at the end was about.

By making her pine for him and recapturing her fascination

You first kike

When I look at Elle Fanning I see an ersatz Cybill Shepard. As I think about it walking the streets under the lidless eye of CCTV I realize that Taxi Driver looks human in all of its dirt and grime and neurosis and we live in hellish copy of reality that Scorsese and Dostoevsky could not predict in its entirety.

Based

Elle could play a 20 something Cybill.

he just couldnt make it with the white women

Taxi Driver was dubbed a hellish exploration of human condition.

It's about a veteran who found work as a Taxi Driver.
With his salary he could live as a bachelor in Manhattan.
The most beautiful woman in the world was interested in him.

The only horror is that he was a bit autistic and trauma ridden from Vietnam. Otherwise he lived a lifestyle that seems inconceivable today. Not to mention the cloaca gentium that terrifies him; can you imagine him walking around NYC today? It's either armed guard Jewtown where they immediately ticket you for stopping or segregated nigger arab neighborhoods. Plus he'd live 2 hrs from the city in a subterranean tenement.

I love taxi driver and I think it's well made kino
By posting this I hope it angers the mentally ill brown faggot that shits his pants everytime there's a taxi driver thread

Taxi Driver is by far the best adaptation of Dostoevsky. Russians had some amazing ones but failed to capture the spirit of his novels. Taxi Driver is on par with Notes from the Underground, particulary this scene

which I really struggle to watch because it's like someone managed to transfer the exact nature of Dostoevsky's work into another medium

It's hilarious people who believe this happened.

Good point.

Taxi Driver was like NGE for boomers.

Taxi Driver is in my top 5 movies of all time

the other 4 are Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Zerkalo, and Terminator 2.

Good morning saar

Have you seen Robert Bresson's Pickpocket?

Cybil is the one who recounts it and said she later felt bad.

I'm not sure, probably not. I did see his other movies and i like them a lot. I'll put that on the top of my list

that sultry stare she gives him the entire taxi ride after finding out he killed three men

So true to life

Thank you for the blogpost.

and said she later felt bad

doubt it. she got hit on countless times in a day he was just another in a long list of dudes wanting to hit it. only reason she feels bad is because he became a big star? nah dont think she cares at all either way about it

Paul Schrader is a big, big fan of Pickpocket, a lot of his movies, written or directed, reference it one way or another, Taxi Driver is no exception

didnt you ever hear of women's lib?

What was Valentines taxation policies?

I never liked Schrader as a director except in that fun Rolling Thunder movie

only reason she feels bad is because he became a big star

Obviously.

Me neither. I'm also not a fan of Taxi Driver.

I'm gonna use A.I. to make her 300lbs pounds

eh, it's one of rare 10/10 movies for me, I would never guess Scorsese did it based on his other work

They only fit together if you imagine her as a stern working-class wife who controls his life, in any other setting they wouldn't work.

Cope.

I can see why they would be into each other.

Why? It is in the same groove as several of his movies.
