Legitimately what the fuck were they thinking with this one

legitimately what the fuck were they thinking with this one

She was cute at least.

Jet always gave off black guy vibes so that wasn’t surprising. Casting Cho as a suave Jewish dude was dumb though.

The show's not actually that bad.
But then the anime is sorely overrated to begin with.

the actor who played jet was unironically the only one who fit

"Anime characters are Asian, right?"

cast a Korean

character's name is Spiegel

yes.

Cast would have worked better for Black Lagoon

she's in the accountant 2. she BTFOs a blacktress nearly killing the character. decent fight choreography desu

too bad we never see it because hollywood costume designers are puritans who despise the female form

Worst of the casting decisions, but whos a sauve enough jew to play spike?

too bad we never see it

not in bebop but she took her tits out in another movie or show. anons have posted them before

I don't understand why my fellow Americans are so obsessed with this series. It's a fun classic 90s anime but to act like it's the best thing ever is just ridiculous.
Do we just like literally ANYTHING Star Wars-adjacent?

anime just doesnt translate well to live action it could've been worse

Andy Samberg should of played Spike

here's your Kakegurui, bro

I watched up until the point where Cho snipes at Vicious and misses on purpose to send a message. Thought that was absolutely retarded and felt no need to go any further.

From what I can remember I didn't hate it when him and Jet were just fucking around and being their characters was okay. Faye showing up and immediately trying to make the audience know how cool she is by just repeatedly swearing was dumb.

I saw the clip of Ed and man that was absolutely fucking cursed.

Spike's character is tall and lanky though and this guy is a manlet

Spike should have been a light skin Indian.

1. The show is bad -- what did you like about it?
2. The anime isn't overrated, it's popular and well made

cast a 45 year old korean as a 20-something suave skinny man

cast 2x4 as a busty woman

hmm i wonder

indian man

suave

MC Ride as Jet is the only good casting choice.

watanabe for hollywood: good looking prequel for blade runner 2049 (cute replicant chick including)

hollywood for watanabe: this atrocity (no cute chicks)

tummy

erotic

Not terrible namefag, but indeed a little short.
Absolutely not.
Still an improvement

Fuck you nerds you'll watch it anyway

FUCK YOU NERDS WHY DIDN'T YOU WATCH OUR GARBAGE

This is such a horrid take that you should genuinely feel bad about it.

I honestly don't believe in homosexuals. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for your right to live your life the way you prefer, I just don't buy that you can look at this and not feel a thing downstairs.

This but for Natalie Portman in Leon

I feel vindicated, but of course not happy. For so many years, Bebop fans yearned for a live action adaptation, Keanu being a popular pick for Spike, and I would always ask what the fuck a live-action version could possibly add that the anime lacks. The anime is already sublime, it didn't need a live-action version. Then we get one, and lo and behold, I was right all along. I will never understand the fanboy's urge to ask for the same thing over and over again in different packaging.

image-19[1].jpg - 1484x1124, 250.99K

what they did to vicious was downright... vicious.

Damn she's cu-

tattoo

fanboys are legitimately stupid. i have unironically read redditors say that "anything is better than nothing". people are stupid

oh, yes, THAT happened

To be honest, it always seemed off to me that Spike is supposed to be late 20s. His jaded, world-weary attitude and addiction to nostalgia seemed more fitting for a guy well into his 30s. I like to imagine that he spent most of his 20s in the triads with Vicious and Julia, and that more than a decade has passed since he was exiled. If he's not even 30, it feels like the Green Bird flashback happened during a very short span of time, or that he fled Mars two years ago at most. I like to imagine that he lived a whole life with Julia, and has pretty much lived a whole life apart from her, drifting aimlessly in outer space. If everything in Bebop, including the flashback, happens over the span of like five years or something, it kinda takes away some of its impact for me.

who? the dog? cause the actresses sure as shit werent

Teddy Bomber is the best episode by the way

How do we piss off the fans?

Don't know how they expected to make money though

It's just like a really inoffensive Firefly derivative.

You had to be there, zoom zoom

I didn't think it was the worst thing in the world. If it was called something else and on the CW or Syfy I think it would be a mild success

Make money? No, anon, the point of adapting a beloved property is to deliberately destroy it and fill it with blatant, ham fisted lefty propaganda. We can't have people enjoying things from the past, that's racism. Or fascism, or incels or whatever.

The anime isn't overrated, it's popular and well made

They dont have to be mutually exclusive. And i watched a long time ago but i always hated the ending. And on repeated watches i cared less and less for spiku and his girlfriend that he stole from his friend. Thats against bro code
I like jetto more as im older

Faye wasn't even really that sexualized. Any time she was behaving in a sexual manner it was to get men to drop their guard so she could get over on them and is an integral part of her character. Of course, trying to explain the nuances female sexuality and manipulation to a television producer is like trying to quantum physics to cantaloupe.

This is particularly baffling, because it's not even as if Faye is at odds with the current trends all that much. She's a capable and sassy femme fatale, they could have just done a 1:1 adaptation of her with no alterations whatsoever and nothing would be offensive to modern sensibilities. Faye absolutely would shoot up a cathedral, but she would be cool as a cucumber before leaving with some quip like "sorry boys, but I've got better places to be". This is simply an act of sabotage.

If nothing else, the live-action Bebop has made me appreciate Snyder's Watchmen more. Sure, his version was shallow and immature, but at least he was clearly in love with the source material, unlike the Netflix Bebop team, who clearly had nothing but contempt for the original.

If everything in Bebop, including the flashback, happens over the span of like five years or something

It does. Maybe even less, lime the series would start some three years after the flashback

There has never been a single live action remake of anything that was originally 2D that was even as good, let alone better, than the source material. Watching a live action remake of anything should be considered both a form of self harm and cultural sabotage.

blam.png - 714x710, 825.41K

Maybe it does, but it contradicts my headcanon, so it doesn't. Spike is late 30s and was exiled in his late 20s. That's as final as the tiger-striped cat's last death.

Honestly have no idea how anyone at any age comes up with this line and is proud of their work. Reminds me of when I was 7 writing in speech bubbles for a Resident Evil contest in PSM and it was all "!&#@ YOU"

Animation is a better medium than live-action, because the artist's creativity is the only real limit to what's achievable.

But Spike has charisma
Timothy's got anti-charisma

Jet always gave off black guy vibes

He was a former cop who was known as the cold-headed one, that's as anti-black as you can get dude, he only liked jazz and was surnamed Black because it's a pun on his name Jet.

good looking prequel for blade runner 2049

He was given shit material and couldn't pull it out there, sorry
It is if you have an army of artists but live-action is cheaper in the long run due to the camera movements. Recreating HK action cinema on animation would be hell on earth.

It is if you have an army of artists but live-action is cheaper in the long run due to the camera movements. Recreating HK action cinema on animation would be hell on earth.

Yes, there are logistical problems with hand-drawn animation as far as efficiency goes, but if you have enough pens and enough hands holding the pens, there are zero limits. Something like Spirited Away could never be done in live-action, but a hand-drawn LOTR trilogy on par with the live-action version is theoretically possible with enough talent and effort.

Agreed, if the assets are there it is very difficult to surpass animation. Hopefully some jap will tweak some AI model to help with keyframe transitions to then retrace and tweak manually, that alone would save half the time of production.

the writing was so atrocious its unbelievable that someone approved it for filming. i die a little more every time that pic of the old hags line to jet is posted

why is superboy bald? i remember when this show debuted and i watched the first episode and never anything else of it

That's funny, I was "resistant" to watching the show.

hu3u9ue.gif - 269x325, 1.84M

That's cyanide after getting shot in the head

Because he's half Lex Luthor dna or something. Honestly I dont know between that show the travesty that became of doom squad and the fumble that was young justice I can't keep DC storylines straight anymore.

Wouldn't that be ironic in this case?

They butchered her outfit

Honestly I don't think her outfit is that bad, it's just retarded for them to go out of their way to make her less sexualized for no reason at all. Honestly if they had just not publicly addressed it all it would be less of a big deal, but they just couldn't help exposing how little they understand the source material.

I think the stupid diamonds on her stockings really make the whole outfit look worse than it is though, they're just kinda distracting and make an otherwise decent outfit just look stupid, like they wanted to go for a more futuristic space woman look but had no clue how to incorporate that into Faye's outfit and they just figured throwing some dumb lines and angles on her would do they trick but with their desire to not sexualize her they really had very few options available for them to include this unnecessary design flaw that wouldn't just ruin her outfit completely so they just said "fuck it, put the stupid designs on the stockings."

As someone who hasn't seen Cowboy bebop, the black dude was great, the chink was ABSOLUTELY old and a miss-cast if they wanted some martial arts, and the girl was too much of a bratty bitch and I can't digest that "powerful badass queen" trope
The bad guy was menacing and all jokes involving the black dude were funny

Star Wars-adjacent

You're an embarrassment.

Jet is black for the same reason Americans have often believed that piccolo was black. That kind of “cold” vibe is present in black male characters in a lot of media, especially in the buddy cop era.

Jet is black for the same reason Americans have often believed that piccolo was black.

Piccolo was black because he was GREEN and everyone knows green cartoon characters are black.

skeeter.jpg - 577x433, 80.08K

Jet and Spike have a very spceific dynamic they ignored in the live action show. Jet is older than Spike. Cho is older than Mustafa Shakir. I suppose Shakir is fine, but they cast someone older than the character of Jet to play Spike. That's fucking dumb.

I don't get why everyone shat on it, I liked the first 2 episodes but had to stop to not be a contrarian

I know his last name is Spiegel and all, but was Spike REALLY supposed to be jewish or did the japs just pick a "western" sounding last name that sounded good after "Spike," because there is absolutely nothing jewish about him aside from the name.

The entire cast of Cowboy Bebop are non- specific races. They have contrary traits. Like Ed is tan and a red head. Faye has many asian qualities, but has large boobs. Jet is medditerrean in a lot of ways, but is so vague he's not really any race. Spike does have nods to being jewish, his gun is another one, but he has really good rhythm.

I don't get why everyone shat on it

Because it's worse than the anime that's on the same platform.

Why doesn’t the west just adapt western friendly shit like Black Lagoon or even older stuff like Outlaw Star or Trigun? They could cast whoever they wanted for that shit.

western friendly shit

You mean like Cowboy Bebop?

They ruined it by casting Asians. Also it wasn’t that western friendly. It just aped western aesthetics.

what's funny is that they said "faye's tits are cartooningly big, no woman would have that kind of body" lol.

Jewfro thoughever

everyone knows green cartoon characters are black.

so Zarbon was black ?

Also it wasn’t that western friendly

Just one of the most popular anime in the hemisphere

Outlaw Star or Trigun?

why on earth would you want that ?

He was just a house negro is all, spent too much time with massa and started adopting his ways.

frieza.jpg - 1125x825, 92.79K

What tits? She has negative tits in the webm, flat as a board and muscly chest.

they only got one thing right.

legitimately why the fuck are retards still replying to corporate engagement bait threads kill yourselves

watched a couple episodes and honestly felt terrible for like half the people involved, the production quality is so insanely good for some of it like genuine production soul went into it. damn shame really about the rest

They already made a shitty Trigun remake.

gay.jpg - 1914x1080, 218.31K

it wasn't that bad. i guarantee you didnt even watch it

I really feel like they couldn’t fuck up Outlaw Star even if they tried. The story is super western and just about some twenty something chad trying to make his way in the universe. It’s just a western in space with magic. It’s also a short series so they wouldn’t have to rewrite lore or whatever.

Don't worry, there's still at least 5 Star Wars threads and two Sam Hyde shill threads up for you.

they couldn’t fuck up Outlaw Star even if they tried.

i believe they can fuck up literally anything. whatever the sources is doesnt even matter they will fuck it up with near 95 % guarantee

i guarantee you didnt even watch it

Correct. The LGBT inspired character design and ugly 3DCG is enough for me to not want to have to look at it.

Too bad he’s a groomers

The live action version leaned too much into the "Le ironic humor/everything is joke" of many movies of the late 2000s/early 2010s popular on Reddit. Lots of wacky camera angles and the story itself not really being taken too seriously. Similar to "Scott Pilgrim saves the World" or Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead.

Live action Cowboy Bebop lacked sincerity.

Live action Cowboy Bebop lacked sincerity.

so much of modern movies/tv shows do

3d gives me the ick

he's like 60

I think they were trying to pull a “Speed Racer” but failed because the two shows are just way too different.

You already said that in one of your other 60+ threads today. You also already pull the same whataboutism card in those threads you mentioned, which are also consistently yours. An hero.

It was made by people who hated the source material and wanted to remake it. This influenced all their creative decisions and it's why the show failed.

In an alternate universe Kal Penn played Spike

Nah, mid 40s I believe, though he looks great for his age. Regardless, my point is, if a Jewish man can look like Spike, why couldn't Spike be Jewish?

You're not very good at your job.

i think reality is far more mundane. it's just that execs identified that cowboy bebop was a recognizable brand name in the USA and cynically sought out the rights to a live action remake, assigned to the project some mediocre low paid producers directors and writers with previous experience who would be able to factory-style churn out something.

Yeah, 3D animation combines all the worst aspects of live action and animation to create an uncanny mess every time, for certain kinds of stories that kind of ugly jenkiness can work, but for most it doesn't.

Shes just a seething chestlet

What the fuck is wrong with Americans?

They were thinking "who can we afford?"

Black Lagoon would look retarded with women running around dodging bullets and jumping 20 feet on moving boats. Anime action just does not translate to live action.

That's no more or less cursed than Cho playing him.

Worked in Alita

I don't think they are going to try to reboot this one. lol if they do. Go ahead and waste some more money.

What they always... think? If enjoyed by straight white males, it must be destroyed. Unless you are very, very young you cannot be genuinely surprised. It's what they do with any product with a predominantly male, white (since japs are irrelevant for them), heterosexual fan base.

Giving Fullmetal Alchemist a marvel tier budget would be printing money, but studios hate money

trvke and real white genocdie

How does he fit? Jet isn't a black dude in the anime.

how he acted. he was the only good actor and the only one who felt remotely like his character in the anime

the fak that the y cast an black as jet is white genocide fr

but a hand-drawn LOTR trilogy on par with the live-action version is theoretically possible with enough talent and effort.

You're retarded. It isn't possible.

Yeah, his acting was by far the best part of the show.

THEORETICALLY possible.

It could have been ok as a movie, plotwise like Knockin on Heaven's Door. Conceptually it could have been like Serenity (the firefly movie) which is self contained and introduces concepts and characters fairly quickly for new viewers, but is supposed to be a sort of episode that doesn't resolve the whole plot of the show.

The outfit is mostly ok. But they're explanations were schizo.
The actress said that due to the stunts and action scenes she needed to wear pads for protection and the anime outfit has not opportunity for that. And in hindsight, that does seem more plausible because the live action outfit has conspicuous elbow and knee coverings (to hide pads) and also a thick belt (to hide a harness).

But the first the production said about the outfit was that Faye's outfit was ridiculous and too boobie, except it's just clothes, her tits aren't that big even by real life standards and Faye's character is a turbo-tease.

have any of the american made live action anime adaptations been successful ?

The actress said that due to the stunts and action scenes she needed to wear pads for protection and the anime outfit has not opportunity for that.

she called people out for being incels for being mad that she didnt wear an anime accurate outfit. stop covering for her

she's right

You are partially right. But I do remember several sociel media posts from people who worked on the production. They were criticizing the source material while promoting the live action version.

"First I wanted to apologize to the fans that I do not anatomically match the Faye Valentine character," Pineda said. She summarized Faye's 'anatomy' as "Six foot, double-D size breasts, two-inch waist" and sarcastically remarked, "You know, they looked everywhere for that woman, and they couldn't find her. It's kinda weird. So they just went with my short ass. I know, am I right?"

Pineda continued, "There was talk about, like, 'put Daniela in a time machine and maybe give her different parents so she has different genetic information to sort of make her look better?' It proved to be too complicated."

"The other thing I wanted to bring up was, I wanted to apologize that the outfit I'm wearing is not exactly what she wears in the anime," Pineda said, referring to complaints her costume doesn't look like Faye's usual get-up in the anime -- which is implausibly short and thin and sometimes appears to be defying the laws of gravity. "You know, we tried, but doing stunts in tissue paper -- things disappear, they rip... That original costume, they made a couple of them, but like I said, they got sort of slurped up in my various crevices, never to be retrieved again. So, we really built something that could withstand the test of time."

The outfit is fucking dogshit, cosplayers mog her hard

I'm not covering for her, I guess I just fucked up conveying my point that I think the costume was 80% determined by usefulness in stunts and choreography and they could have just said that the whole time.
But they thought it was a selling point, a helpful thing, to bitch about the problematic design of a character they wanted to milk for money.

It's like tv staff are autistic these days, they don't understand how they're actively pissing off people they need.

Sarcastically ridiculing the idea that her body doesn't match the characters, assuming she had to be cast in the first place

Rerolling the genetic information is also called "recasting"

cosplayers aren't producing a show

It happens every time something gets adapted. The witcher, the boys, the last of us, one piece, if you go to enough of these threads you will see those posts. As if the source material is the reason they took all of these stupid creative liberties that people are complaining about. They try to shift responsibility once they see the poor reception.

Correct, they don't have millions of dollars and a team of professionals.

Youre right and they still mog LA adaptations from Wokeflix, it's not that Wokeflix can't it's that they don't want to due to woke ideologies

The body one makes sense but the outfit one doesnt, just a shitty excuse to avoid showing skin

The story is super western and just about some twenty something chad

Anon, those kind of stories are the ones they go out of their way to fuck up.

Hilarious that she recently pretended she never said any of this and did some whole "wow yeah that cowboy beepboop show was pretty bad right fans haha" dialback instead to try and save face.

Exactly, so what's the show's excuse for doing it worse than someone who does it for a hobby?

yep. the quotes from she made in 2021 before the show premiered. Meanwhile, 3 weeks ago she did an about face and said companies need to do a better job of adapting anime into live actions

Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Star Daniella Pineda Calls On Hollywood “To Do A Better Job” When Adapting Anime

All she's really saying is "they need to do a better job (because they made me look bad)"

If she just shut the fuck up then I wouldn't care as much. But she is a woman and they are bad at that.

No no, you don't understand, Jet is black "coded". Sadly, they weren't able to convin$e the original creator of pushing the usual one: "Jet was always intended as a diversity character #blm".

when i saw they cast old man cho as spike i knew it was over

I see I see, pretty good for a chestlet.

legitimately what the fuck were they thinking with this one

IIRC they focused more on building up Vicious instead of just having him being a mysterious mother fucker. So they ended up missing story beats of individual episodes.

The audience(me) cared more about the individual episodes than the slow unraveling of character backgrounds.

IIRC they focused more on building up Vicious instead of just having him being a mysterious mother fucker.

not only that in giving him more backstory they made him look like an incompetent cuck

Honestly Faye's anime outfit just doesn't translate to real life well at all. Even the "best" cosplays I've seen look kinda shitty because no fabric can achieve that same fit and drape and most use cosplayers use some kind of shiny stretch pleather that looks cheap as fuck without tons of photoshop to hide all the wrinkles and the extra seams needed to shape it. The design is also typical anime bullshit clothes where it's vacuum sealed to her boobs and loose everywhere else and the shorts don't even have a zipper. The color scheme also is really garish and would look ridiculous outside of an anime convention. Also nobody seems to be sure what that red thing even is.
So I can understand giving her a different outfit design, the problem is what they came up with is ugly as hell and is not giving sexy "femme fatale" or even fashionable at all. The shorts and jacket look like they were ordered from Fashion Nova for $20.

You are a massive faggot, cosplays looks way better

WHAT IF WE MADE LE ANIMATED THING

BUT LE WORSE

I don't know what's worse companies making this shit or people consuming this shit

I liked the Josie and the Pussycats movie

be Netflix

make Witcher

audience reviews are mixed

chuds say they dislike the overtop girlpower shit when the books and games already had enough girlpower shit

chuds say they dislike the show not focusing more on the white MC

blame it on chuds hating diversity

learn absolutely nothing

get to make Cowboy Bebop

Let's make the cast more diverse by making Jet Black black and Spike Spiegel korean

Big bad villain is already a white guy

not good enough

make him an incompetent cuck

audience reviews are mixed

chuds say they dislike the overtop girlpower shit when the anime already had enough girlpower shit

chuds say they dislike the show not focusing more on the side characters they meet

blame it on chuds hating diversity

still learn absolutely nothing

I watched that for the first time like 3 weeks ago. It was okay. I've been trying to find a place to watch pic related because I wanted to watch more live action remake slop.

Scooby Doo still holds up.

jem.jfif.jpg - 480x640, 37.9K

The problem is systemic like when you have them complaining Henry Cavill likes the source material too much and hes too much of a nerd that is a red flag. You would never hear complaints like that from the set of LotR because they were all in agreement they were gonna do their best job at adapting in good faith, the witcher fags are all pseuds who think theyre above the material.

To be honest, it always seemed off to me that Spike is supposed to be late 20s. His jaded, world-weary attitude and addiction to nostalgia seemed more fitting for a guy well into his 30s.

Him being jaded ahead of his time is kind of the point though. Him and Vicious are the Syndicate's golden boys, and him abandoning the Syndicate is very much a part of the present, not the past. Likewise the tragedy of him and Julia is that they're both still young and should be living their life together while their both in their prime but can't.

I liked it. S2 would have been interesting.

I like to imagine that he lived a whole life with Julia, and has pretty much lived a whole life apart from her

When you have young love it almost feels like a lifetime. The older you get the faster time seems to go by. I'm sorry some of you anons have missed out on it.

t. dated same girl for 5 years since 17 broke-up and got back together 8 years later
We were together for 4 more years, but it felt way shorter than the first 5. She got killed by a drunk driver

People kept meme'ing that Disney was gonna adapt dragon ball. Will they ?

scooby doo is serialized they didn't fucking copy the plot of already existing scooby doo things 1:1

Worst part is that cowboy bebop was never that good.

So are the other Hanna Barbara live action movies. Some are still good. I think I'm going to watch the live action Flintstones movie. The one with Bobbi Star not Rosie Odonnell

Extremely unlikely, Disney would rather invest in their own IPs than pay another company licensing money.

Honestly Faye's anime outfit just doesn't translate to real life well at all

literally the "20 something whore" uniform

confirmed for never getting any pussy

Nonce

Bebop draws from tons of live action genres, seeing it well acted and cast in live action would be amazing. There are many emotional scenes that the anime does well, but a well acted live action would be amazing. Plus there aren’t any super over the top movements and shit that would be lost in the move to live action

Problem is it would take a lot of passion, decent budget and good talent to pull it off, which is nearly impossible nowadays

It was funny that they gave it a “manga style” when cowboy bebop wasn’t a manga lol

The thing that makes Bebop interesting and appealing is that it's animated. None of the stuff in it is unique in the realm of live action film, and even an adaptation that did everything "right" would seem very generic and derivative.

I'm sorry, anon.

shes worn more accurate Faye Valentine outfits In fucking real life completely unrelated to any TV show of her own free will that you could hide stunt foam pads in for wide shots
that worthless dogshit costume designer made her look like shit in the show

These are ugly high rise and Faye wears sexy low rise

cosplayers don't have to move around in their cosplay. they don't have to act or do action scenes.

Shut the fuck up whore. Go be a dumb bitch somewhere else.

still better than the horse shit the person literally paid to make costumes did, and proof every faggot calling Faye's choice of outfit "unrealistic" is just that, a fucking faggot
"nO wOmAn evEr woRE a haLTer toP and shORt shoRTs with a baGGy jacKEt in puBLic"

BlackStrap.jpg - 378x500, 32.3K

Adult Swim / Toonami boost as baby's first "adult" anime.
It was massively shilled in 2000s nerd media as the coolest thing ever.

To be fair, the animation and music are pretty good.

I thought it was okay. Most of the episodes had some cringe, but I really liked how they handled Jet.

The sins they committed against Gren will never be forgiven though.

because they saw an opportunity to put a black man beside a white blonde woman
no way in hell they were going to change that

So? Special effects exist

I thought it was alright.

her outfit is shit and the costume designer should be dragged out into the street and shot for crimes against art
they can hide full size gymnastic mats in broad angles on movies shot in location in tiny apartment building hallways and stuff stunt pads underneath cocktail dresses
if you are not fucking capable of making a fucking Visual Medium look Visually Appealing, then you should not be working in said Visual art form

you guys overestimate how much budget these productions have and how much that goes towards workers like the costume designers and others

"they dont have the budget"

*makes the most elaborately shit costume with custom tailored leather jacket and custom stockings

the source material outfit was literally $50, a halter top and short shorts and an oversized jacket/windbreaker

yes, the budget is why they purposefully made the costume shit

So where did the money go? I don’t trust the google results but this was definitely multiple millions per episode. One piece doesn’t have this problem. Why can’t you be as good as them?

It convinced me to rewatch the original. It's still good.
Never watched that series though. There was no point
