not true. the ottomans already had massive problems with ethnic unrest in the region and a massive surge in nationalism starting in the ~1880s. the majority of the arab world turned against them during WW1 because they were sick of foreign rule.

the european colonial powers and the US definitely deserve part of the blame, and the founding of israel was a messy and flawed event from the beginning, but pretending the middle east was mostly fine before WW2 is a dishonest midwit take.
