Cassian is the protagonist of Rogue One

The Disney+ poster for Rogue One shows Cassian in the centre instead of Jyn

I lie awake dreaming of creaming Dedra

cassian is the key to everything

he's a funnier character than we've ever had before

I thought the force lady turning to the camera to bluntly state the "purpose" of Andor as a character was a little on the nose, but it really worked.

Cassian may have gone a bit too far in a few places

I havent watched anything star wars since 2005

Nope

dHGlQZ5.jpg - 1679x1048, 111.61K

remember that footage of them running on the beach with this? lol you just know the original plan was to have them jump on a ship and live. What a garbage movie that would have been.

thank god for tony

The final minutes of Rogue One are the nearest any post-4/5/6 film has come to feeling competent. If you don't mind spoiling yourself, check it out

They did live. There’s nothing to suggest they died.

this shit is so kino, imagine andor is your only knowledge of star wars, and then this wizard with a laser sword shows up, and in the next film you learn about the force. God damn this new watch order is great.

Some of the team were supposed to survive, but Cassian and K died on the beach in the original cut. There's behind the scenes footage of it:

Huh?

I know they say that... but I dont believe

I want to have sex with Dedra's voice because Yen is the closest thing I have to a waifu, but with the Pajeeta's body

Jesus wasn’t important until he came along and now he’s the most important figure in all religion.

It proves what I've always known in my heart: if you want a good sequel to a moribund franchise, hire someone that hates it.

fuck that ugly british cunt

Jesus is mentioned in a chapter long before he ever appears in the Bible tho

She isn't bad. But it's classical Med vs Nord

Reminder all nu wars is faggot shit

You two are faggot retards who suck each others cocks

We understand the art of cinema, and you dont.

Verian-Sky.jpg - 1406x735, 204.56K

my thoughts exactly. start with Andor
Rogue One
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace (optional)
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith

stop, you're done

Why are the chinese guys in the movie at all? They have no reason to tag along and they completely fucking suck.

They correct the poster after Andor season 2

Modern Disney is 113% cynical marketing.

Im so glad I'm not the only one. Dedra is hot. I would totally tonguefuck that mole she's got going on

Disney shit will never be Star Wars. Kill yourself, nigger.

The Phantom Menace (optional)

Fucking dimwit with Disney slop for brain.

The first three episodes of season 2 don't exist.

she looks odd, but why does her voice work for me?

she voiced Jennifer in the Witcher games

This bitch is so hot. Shame she never did a sex scene.

They needed the force for branding but didn't want Jedi. If it was just the monk, normies would have been confused if he was a Jedi or not, so they made a duo. Also, their dialogue alludes to the synchronicity of the force.

Disney shit will never be Star Wars

Lol
Lmao

Na, not even Andor can save rogue one, it's just fucked. Maybe it can be salvaged if you cut it down to 40 min and call it

Andor Season 2, E13 - The deathstar special

I'll never understand the retards who seem to view everything disney has made as the same uniform level of shit. don't get me wrong the house of mouse are a bunch of cunts and I look forwards to their ever-nearing bankruptcy but you can't seriously tell me stuff like the sequels and stuff like rogue one/andor should be treated the same
generally whenever star wars, specifically andor/rogue one gets brought up here, I see the same three low effort bad-faith arguments crop up everytime

all nuwars sucks

all star wars sucks

andor and rogue one are reddit

Disney's obsession with

Darth Vader is le terrifying

is so tiring.
Dude got beaten by a padawan

A magnificent bum.

People talk in bad faith because the sequel trilogy was made in bad faith.
Disney fucked up the one thing they had to nail, no second chances.
I don't care about Andor because it all leads to Palpatine returning in Fornite.

tbf rogue one is pretty shit. Not as bad as the sequels but it's got one good scene at the end with Vader and the rest is all worthless. a 2 hour movie to explain a random plot element from ANH nobody cared about with the most paper thin characters ever

the rest is all worthless.

Yeah except of 3 good action sequences.

if anything people aren't hard enough on Rogue One. the zombie tarkin shit alone is more egregiously soulless than anything in the sequels

Reminder all nu wars is faggot shit

Action sequences aren't worthwhile if I don't give a shit about any of the shallow characters. It's all just your standard CG blaster slop at the end of the day without that.

It's all just your standard CG blaster slop at the end of the day without that.

It's best actions since Empire.

Except Empire had characters I cared about and Rogue One didn't so I felt nothing in their action scenes. I guess they're more technically impressive congrats you have better effects than a 40 year old movie.

That also restored the idea from Empire Strikes Back of the force as an unknowable mystical force, rather than the JRPG magic of the prequels and sequels.

I don't care about Andor because it all leads to Palpatine returning in Fornite.

it's this kind of boneheadedness that will stop you from enjoying things in real life out of spite anon
literally just pretend the sequels don't exist. Most people I've spoken to about star wars in real life agree on this. I don't see andor as leading to the sequels because they don't exist, they're a mediocre fanfiction.

Except Empire had characters I cared about and Rogue One didn't

So you cannot enjoy both and separate?
No wonder why you swallow ewoks and prequels.

cg tarkin and leia were horrifically retarded but despite those two things I adored rogue one immediately upon watching. It's my favourite star wars movie overall including the OT and the most rewatchable to me personally. I don't really understand how we can disagree so radically about the same movie, everything you say here (other than the tarkin cg) I disagree with

Watching Andor means rewarding those who made the sequels.
Render the sequels non-canon, make them good, and then I'll regain enough interest in Star Wars to watch Andor.
As it is this is a dead franchise that has lost it's course.

not him but i couldn't enjoy andor because they lead into the OT and it's hard for me to get invested in a political thriller that ends so incongruously in tone and genre. like watching 2 seasons of this guy do spy shit who is ultimately a side character not even mentioned so the actual hero can save the day with his laser sword and magic wizard powers.

it would be like if james bond was all leading up to them as some random footnote delivering gandalf's horse or some shit.

What? I enjoy action scenes if they have characters I care about because that's where the tension and excitement comes from. Why would I want to have to separate basic storytelling to enjoy a narrative? I don't even like the prequels for similar reasons.

So you don't like Star Wars

If you mean that, and that's your perceptive on it, I'm really sorry anon but it sounds like you've been brutally filtered. you are very likely to be a midwit.

lemonjak.jpg - 959x794, 58.34K

i like the original trilogy and some parts of the clone wars cartoon show were fun, couldn't really get into much beyond that. Mandalorian was cool when it was its own thing but it fell off in S2 imo. I'd probably like Andor more if it was its own thing but it feels too incongruent with the original trilogy in tone and setting despite it ostensibly leading up to it.

Rogue One doesn't have a protagonist because all the characters suck.

that's a lot of buzzwords anon but okay

I'll do anything for the rebellion... even kill or die!

how about a quick roll in the hay to get the imps to leave you alone ;)

NOT THAT

file.png - 590x350, 408.08K

It's best actions since Empire.

Bullshit. The best ain't even in the OT.

I see your logic, but IMO it's flawed approach

filtered

midwit

two frequently used pieces of shorthand jargon are too much for you to handle?

We'll do our best to carry on without you

file.png - 983x515, 353.84K

i'm not sure how you want me to reply brother your entire argument now just boils down to "you're a stupid head". what do you want me to say, "no you?"

Watching Andor means rewarding those who made the sequels.

Stupid logic. For one, by that reasoning, you shouldn't watch ANY star wars or even discuss it, since that directly or indirectly supports the IP that disney owns. Secondly, you can just pirate it if you don't wanna support disney. Thirdly, andor is quite literally not made by the people responsible for the sequels. In fact, we have good reason to believe the guy who made andor (tony gilroy) actively had to fight disney (and this fuckhead marvelbrained retard filoni) to get andor made and have it be so high quality relative to all the other slop they make. rogue one and andor (both made by gilroy) are very much not the same as the sequels in origin, direction, or goal.

I don't expect you to say anything. I'm calling you a midwit because I think that's what you are and any other argument would be superficial to that point. If your takeaway from watching andor is

this doesn't matter to me because none of these characters end up being celebrated as heroes or even come up in the OT so what's the point of what they do in this show?

then you are a midwit

Gilroy literally sucked off Kathleen Kennedy in an interview weeks ago.
I don't care about some Rebellion origin story when I know it leads to utter retardation.

it's not that they're not celebrated as heroes, it's that the conclusion to their plotline, that being a knight-wizard having a flash gorden esque adventure feels completely incongruent with the tone of the show. i'm not sure how you're scaling IQ based off my opinion on star wars but go off if that's your bar for accomplishment

what was it between her and syril?

this entire season was unwatchable, i couldnt believe how shit it was.
9 hours of *NOTHING*, season 1 was a thousand times better.

I don't consider understanding star wars to be some high IQ achievement, but I do think your specific interpretation of the show belies aweak intellect. The show's quality has nothing to do with what happens in the OT besides being part of the same universe and isn't meant to. It's something you can enjoy for what it is and for its own merits. this is the diametric opposite of the sequels by the way, whose only attempt at quality is constantly reminding you LOOK JUST LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY

ahsoka is the hottest

you did not watch season 2 anon

he who has not tasted grapes says sour

have to agree
especially the first few episodes

I don't even like the prequels for similar reasons.

Okay point taken.
It's still pretty neat action scenes, on every planet, including scariff where each member of the cast eventually dies.

if you think its good, then it means YOU didnt watch it.
you can detele, just remove the first 3 episodes of season 2 and lose nothing valuable to the story.
70% of the remaining 6 episodes are filled with eating, kissing, walking, staring at a window.

i didn't say the show's writing was worse in quality for it. i said it's difficult to get into knowing that it leads into the OT because the entire time they're having these deep talks about the nature of fascism and the intricates of the empire I'm thinking about the cackling space warlock who runs it all and how he'll be defeated by power of love and family when the cyborg dark knight betrays him and that's ultimately the end of their Empire's plotline, which in a show all about stopping the Empire is kind of difficult to forget or ignore that's what this is leading up to.

That was a valid criticism when R1 came out. But now Andor let's us reevaluate R1. Now it's suddenly the grand finale of Cassian's story. As another anon said a while ago: watching Andor has made all the Cassian scenes in R1 much better, and all the Jyn scenes much worse.

I can't think of any other franchise where a new entry has retroactively made an older one BETTER. (Lots of cases where something becomes worse through later framing though.)

the writing of season 2 is absolute dogshit though, the entire cringe french resistance arc was just creative bankruptcy.

ok so it's what the other anon said, you just don't like star wars. which imo is even more retarded because I actually think andor works even better if you don't like the OT because then you can just... not think about it? why are you rationalising your way into unenjoyment lol

you can delete***

there's 12 episodes in season 2 anon
ah okay you just got filtered by the ghormans

but i do like star wars, especially the OT, i just don't think this fits in well with star wars. i enjoy flash gordon serials, and i also enjoy band of brothers. i would not want to see a band of brothers style show as a prequel to flash gordon however.

why would I not think of it? there's storm troopers and blasters and it's clearly star wars. if they wanted me to not think of the other movies in the main story they probably shouldn't have made it a star wars property

the entire ghorman arc looked like it was written by an intern, its was incredibly fucking dogshit.

Agreed entirely, Tony Gilroy is the only non-Lucas contribution worth attaching to the six films. Severely underrated man, Gilroy.

it was peak anon
episode 8 was kino and made it all worth it
it doesn't have the same vibe as the OT because it's not the same story. please tell me you're not one of those IP purists who thinks all of star wars should have the exact same comfy vibe that your childhood movies did? that exact mentality is what created the sequels, ironically.

episode 8 was one of the worst.

i'm not an IP purist I just think the show does itself a major disservice by existing as a Star Wars IP, especially as a prequel, when it wants to have such a serious tone. like I said it just feels weird watching it with how dramatic and gritty it is knowing the ultimate end of this empire meta-plot is a flash fantastical clash between magical space knights. if it wasn't star wars, or if it was even it's own thing that wasn't a prequel so the story could potentially go anywhere, I'd probably enjoy it more.

yeah we know. jyn doesn't even have a character, she exists to be the audience self insert who doesn't know anything.

its actually such a shame that rogue one came out before andor did. but then again, i don't think they'd get to do the movie they wanted to still.

I can understand that, I guess I just personally instantly fell in love with the grittiness and thought star wars was better off for it. with rogue one in particular

just wait for the kindor cut anon
it's coming

>Andor Season 2, E13 - The deathstar special

That's... actually not a bad idea. A fanedit of Rogue One that cuts out all the insubstantial side plots and fixes the fucked pacing by recentering the story around Cassian/K2 instead of Jyn can work wonders.

self insert

wilmore is also a self insert, its one of the writers, he wrote himself into the 2nd season.
its like a fucking youtube fanmade nonsense.

less Jyn more Cassian

fuck off faggot the movie was about her.

ok but wilmon and saw are the best part of the season

She was the weakest part of the whole damn movie.

movie is about jyn, the bond with her dad and her ultimate fate

let's replace her with the charisma vacuum that is andor

when people say "x in andor is boring, slow", i could understand.
when you say it's "dogshit", i don't see it.
elaborate.

yeah idk I think gritty Star Wars is cool maybe it's just because it's a prequel/too tied to the main plot. It's just like when they mention "The Emperor" I'd think ideally for this type of show you'd envision some corrupt autocratic 1984 style Big Brother bureaucrat but instead I think of some fantastical cackling space warlock who shoots lightning out of his fingertips and the illusion of this being a serious political drama is broken.

i don't think so. i just imagine all the real shit is happening behind the scenes in the OT while this stupid teenager and his cowboy and princess friend are having a tonally different experience, because of all the real dirty work that was done beforehand to make it possible for them.

its the same thing with how the clone wars animated show actually did all the things that lucas failed to execute properly in the ST.

they are actually the worst parts of the season.

she was the best part of the movie, in fact, the entire god damn movie was about her and her father, andor was barely a supporting character and he was boring as fuck.

wilmon was a writer self insert

dont tell me he also played the role.

Andor just feels like a repurposed script for a completely different series, that fits poorly in the series it actually belongs to.

Her whole backstory was massacred by the reshoots and poorly stitched back together. With what we got she's better as a side character than the lead.

uhh forceisfemalebros... our response?

she's better as a side character than the lead.

And Andor makes for a terrible lead anyway, so at least give the movie a proper emotional core.

nope, scenes with andor are borderline unwatchable in rogue one, complete charisma black hole and his accent is making my ears bleed.
Jyn scenes were pure kino.

Yeah K2. I felt more sorry for the robot than any of the humans when he died.

his accent is making my ears bleed.

American problems

Just because you want to fuck her actress (fair enough) doesn't make her a good character.

writer self inserts

copy pasted french resistance from WW2

they even did a meme-french language

bloat upon bloat upon bloat, most of the season can be cut out and lose nothing valuable to the story/character progression

several lesbian dating and kissing scenes

yup thats modern disney nu-Star Wars alright.

I wish Star Wars would just die. The sequels were so shit it fucked up the whole franchise. Disney knows it because they don't seem to be doing much of anything with the sequel era which is good because it sucks. That Rey movie is never getting made.

I liked andor and rogue one though

disney is canceling most of its waman strong projects, not just star wars, but marvel too.
i was surprised they didnt cancel the nigger ironman show, everything else seems to get the axe.

I just wish they'd actually advance the fucking universe.

why is this entire franchise nothing but prequels?

Cassian carries the first two acts on his back, the scene where he attempts to snipe Galen is kino. That’s probably what convinced the execs to give him a show. I’m so glad they did.

IMG_8763.jpg - 1024x576, 61.12K

Say what you want about the old EU but yeah at least they had a long time to explore all the ancient and even some future stuff with various results. The old EU is still vastly superior. If you're not an EU guy then again they won't advance because the last time they did it was the sequels which suck shit and nobody likes them so they avoid them. They're a void for storytelling because there's nothing left to tell. Everyone is dead but the shitty sequel character that nobody likes and Kylo, the only character anyone gave a shit about, died too. Disney fucked up the whole franchise with them. Crazy how they bought one of the biggest franchises and fucked it up in 10 years. I guess Marvel is the same though. Fuck Disney.

Because they fucked the canon with that shitty new trilogy.
They know everything surrounding that timeline is fucked so they won’t dare to touch it anymore and rather focus on prequel stories.

Why did Andor S2 waste time on Mothma's daughter's wedding instead of important shit like showing how Cassian got to the point where he'd sacrifice his own allies in Rogue One?

Because we needed to see Mon Mothma raving hard while Bix nearly got raped.

IMG_4848.gif - 220x220, 221.28K

Need to see strong women slutting it up in their menopause years, that's progress

star wars must be watched in chronological order.
