When did South Park stop being cool? What changed exactly?
When did South Park stop being cool? What changed exactly?
You grew up
When they turned Randy in a main character and stop focusing on the kids having wackey adventures
BASKIN
It has been discussed to death. Objectively, when they introduced seasonal arc. That's it. End of discussion.
Do not reply to this thread anymore.
SP stopped being good after season 11. Imagination Land killed it all.
it sucked way before that
I still like it and thought Tegridy Farms was funny.
When I turned 13

Stopped being edgy when I grew out of my lolbertarian phase.
They stopped being edgy when they canceled new episodes for over 2 years so they wouldn't have to address israel
It's definitely beginning of the end but not completely dead until about like season 17 ish
Cultural ubiquity
I don't give a shit about what you like or not; there are niggers on this board that pretend that everything post-season 4 is bad. Objectively, when they moved away from episodic, self-contained stuff in the 20th, this is when the show lost all and any remaining flair.
Skankhunt shit is the show gulping Mr. Clean bottle in one go.
viewer changeover
masturbation nation takeover
I stopped watching S10. I think it was the Peruvian flute guinea pig episode.
If you mean the trump arc, I agree.
It sort of recovered for a bit, but the damage was done and nobody watched those episodes, before it feel off a cliff
Not being in middle school anymore.
it blew my mind to hear that some kids grew up watching this with their parents
america is a shithole
not sure, but I stopped caring around the time they introduced PC Principal
blew my mind
to hear
to hear
hear
you didn't hear this anon, you read it in the comments section of YouTube, you don't have any peers or coworkers
For me it was season 11. Noticeable dip in quality with some of the episodes being good as opposed to most in previous seasons being the gold standard. Season 12 was pretty much the end
I don't know what it is about certain shows approaching the double digit season mark that spells the beginning of the end. IASIP and Simpsons are the same
this
It suffered flanderization. When a series lasts too long it loses its edge. It becomes routine, the original writers can leave and retire or die, they change as people, they get bored of it, etc.
South Park has been boring. So much so even they wanted to cancel it. But it's an easy check and people keep watching.
Being in a libtard bubble for too long. They thought Trump would lose and got stuck in a shitty arc with Garrison as POTUS. In all fairness though, that probably saved the show from going full Reddit TDS but the show was already dead by then.
When Trey and Matt somehow became insulated into Hollywood culture and their only frame of reference for the zeitgeist became their kids.
It's why we got all those stupid videogame console episodes.
there's no reason to watch imaginationland or anything afterward
They became the pozzed shit they used to make fun of
Came here to say this. After IL it was stupid and then Trump killed it.
Their main thing was being edgy, nowdays you can find edgy by the pound so they arent special anymore. On top they did social commentary but tv reacts way too slow compared to the internet, one week was fast for broadcast but one week when people have whole reactions and analysis to social events, 10 minutes, they are also no longer special in that area.
The Warhammer episode was so weird because kids Stan’s age don’t play Warhammer. They’re in what, 3rd grade?
picrel nailed it
when the majority of episodes involved randy
As soon as PC principal was introduced and Matt/Trey decided to make the show into a political whining fest.
idk, whatever year i turned 13 i guess.
When did South Park stop being cool?
2015
What changed exactly?
trump, also making it into the 'randy show' instead of starting a spinoff
I lost interest after they started with the mongoloid Tegridy farms shit
I stopped watching weekly after The Ring episode, making jonas brothers jokes just seemed beneath them at that point. Too easy.
Honestly when they started making fun of President Trump. There’s just some dang lines you don’t cross.
I hung in there until the 2016 election, but there was a massive drop in quality right after they killed off Chef.
what would you estimate your IQ to be?
I remember memberberries not going anywhere and getting really annoyed. I wasn't even very anti-slop-pilled at the time.
When real life started resembling the average South Park episode
