What are some kino alien designs?

What are some kino alien designs?

I wish jean jackets were real.

This movie sucked so bad. One of those movies that are so bad you’ll never watch again. It came so close to being awesome too. If only we got another signs tier horror movie and not this “THE UFO *IS* LE ALIEN” garbage.

why did they call it Jean Jacket? It isn't blue or look anything like a jacket

I hate this biblically accurate alien hooey, give me greys or give me death

watch scavenger's reign

I am pretty sure I saw this monster before. Either in Adventure Time or D&D

Short for J J. A big alien gas bag that doesn't make any sense and can't explain anything it does.

Pretty good cephalopod inspired design.

Why was he such a fucking shit?

I liked the War of the Worlds tripods. They look alien enough but you can actually understand how they'd evolve like that. They are clearly some type of swamp creature.

Lol

Queen alien topped it.

Shame about the retarded name though

It was not an alien it was cryptids.

He was just an evil bastard from the very start. There's no other explanations.

Jean jacket is a cryptid, not an alien. There is nothing in the film that suggests it is from another planet.

LIFE had a cool little alien monster on that space station

it's a fucking UFO

Wow, a biblically accurate angel, which kino is this?

I like this thing in Annihilation. It gives the rare sense of being completely removed from Earth's tree of life and being incomprehensible to us, as perhaps we should expect real aliens to be.
Some anons here have claimed it's some sort of ripoff, not sure from where, but it's a good execution regardless

It came from some SCP tranny

SCP-312 is an organism composed of very thin tissue layers and filled with atmospheric gases at a slightly higher temperature than the surrounding air. It typically floats approximately --- meters above the ground, although it will vary this in order to maintain its position relative to prey.

SCP-312 is capable of creating a small lenticular cloud around itself by releasing water vapor and manipulating air currents, and uses this as camouflage. Within the cloud, SCP-312 is visually similar to a large jellyfish, with a cap approximately 2.5 meters in diameter from which trails a tube of tendrils approximately 25 meters in length.

SCP-312 preys upon large mammals and shows a strong preference for humans. While hunting, SCP-312 will stalk its prey from a position directly above, manipulating air currents around it to maintain this relative position. Prey can escape by moving at a speed upwards of 30 km/h or by entering a large crowd, which seems to confuse SCP-312 and cause it to switch targets.

So long as this core remains unobserved, SCP-312 will remain docile, and seems capable of surviving indefinitely without feeding, although feedings do increase its mass and movement speed. However, if a prey animal makes eye contact with the core, SCP-312 will become active, generating a narrow, controlled vortex with the appearance of a long tube of cloud connecting the lenticular cloud above with the ground. The prey is pulled into SCP-312's tentacle mass by a strong updraft within the vortex, paralyzed by a venomous sting by the tentacles, then digested. Within about a week, partially digested remains of the prey will fall from the sky where SCP-312 disappeared. After a successful hunt, SCP-312 will drift aimlessly until another prey creature comes nearby.

fucking loved that movie, no matter what this board says

What the fuck kind of cryptid has abilities like hiding in the sky by freezing the clouds around itself?

*or being able to shut down all electronics within a certain radius, which seems to rule out it being some ancient Earth creature that went undiscovered until now. You wouldn't have or evolve that ability if there's no technology to use it on

Some anons here have claimed it's some sort of ripoff

Annihilation is literally an adaptation of a book, idiot.

They might navigate and communicate with a kind of biological radar/radio. And then when humans start using electricity they can detect it and this helps them hide or interfere with it.

are.........are you serious ?

That thing was fucking trippy. I could stare into it for hours.

literally just a png of a gray alien

more unsettling than 90% of movie monster designs

I meant the visual being a ripoff of another visual. I doubt the book describes it precisely enough that there's only one possible design the movie could have used

biological radar/radio

A trait so advantageous that it's hard to explain the evolution and why no other real/known animals can do it.
Still makes me think it's not part of Earth's tree of life

Yes.

Trichordates were a thing on Earth before they went extinct, a tripod animal isn't far fetched.

They look like they evolved on a swampland environment (slimy skin, brachiation to grab trees, trippy night vision eyes)

They are kinda cute

Just look at humans and our big cock social brains then

Greys are cool

I still don't understand how its predator mechanism works, like you look at it and it suddenly notices you and decides to kill you? Is it possible to escape or hide once it's "locked on"? Exactly how smart is it, since it's smart enough to somehow "know" when another living thing is looking at it but the way they killed it makes it seem kind of retarded?

Like the chimp in the movie getting freaked out, same deal. Did you watch the movie on 2x, zoom zoom?

how does it have 360 vision to know when something is looking at it doofus. it only has one flat eye and a viewing port on its "front"

It's a giant evil parachute, nigga it doesn't matter

Humans who are successful and dominant and abundant whereas Jean Jackets seem to be very rare or singular

Its a dominance thing. There are a lot of predatory animals that don't like it if you look them in the eye. They see it as you challenging them. You'll see it among themselves, one will come over and the other will look down and away so as not to look them in the eye. They established it as being territorial. So imagine you have people come into its territory then look right at it. Now its doubly pissed off and will hunt them until it regains what it thinks its dominance over an entire area. And if it hasn't eaten you yet it knows you're still there

This

It's an object, that flies, and is unidentified, yes. UFOs are not necessarily alien. An aircraft you don't recognize is a UFO.

A new cryptid that was invented in the movie you watched. Again, there is nothing in the movie to suggest this creature is from another planet.

How come there is only one of them?

You're not supposed to think very hard about the script.

We don’t actually know whether it’s the last of its kind. It’s not relevant either way, though it’s scary to wonder if something like this actually exists IRL and the only reason we don’t know is because it kills anything that notices it.

Who says there is only one. UFOs get seen all over the world. Something like 40% of the worlds population lives within 60 miles of a coast. The rest of the population clusters near water inland. That leaves a lot of empty space not occupied by humans where those things could live, picking off migratory animals moving through their territory

inb4 that map of the US showing locations of disappearances lining up with large cave systems

The final redpill is that mole people are real.

i've been saying this for years. they cause like 90% of earthquakes

original is better than doing the same thing over and over

women love tentacles, bro

Nope

They're tall, genius. Of course women want to fuck them.

its good, people focus too much on wahmen and cuck subplot but it has numerous high tier scifi horror scenes and great atmosphere all around
