Where is the fucking general? Last episode was based as fuck.

foreplay for the real MC and real season: Abby™

Another year of wait, oh well.

Why was Joel so confident they could make a cure? Both in the show and the game, he never doubts it

I think they were on a breakthrough and Ellie was just a small missing stone, not the actual big block. Especially because they couldve only extracted her ONCE. If something goes wrong they wouldve been fucked. So i think they probably only needed one specific part of the mushroom in her brain to be endlessly regrown.

Why has discussion of this show seemingly fallen off a cliff despite almost being in its season finale?

Joel has decided the worst possible version of events was true because he is guilty.

he thinks it's only going to be a year

Anon, they're not even filming until 2026. Even worse, Craig Mazin confirmed this week that they're trying to get greenlit for a fourth season because they don't want to wrap up the second game's story in season 3.
Every decision they make with this show baffles me. They took an already highly divisive game and are doing everything in their power to destroy the goodwill of the handful of people that enjoyed it.
Seth is based though, of all the characters to get more love in the adaptation I never expected him. Then again, they toned down both games' mean-heartedness quite a bit.

Everything this far is better than the game, you moron. The pacing is quicker, the side characters are better, the environments are 110% game accurate. Cant wait for short haired Abby and the village raid.

Normies left, only Abby lovers remain...

The game was made by an Israeli Jew
It’s Zionist propaganda

they don't want to wrap up the second game's story in season 3.

the more they change and the more they have a chance to add the better. the fact that we're already through 70% of Ellie's part 2 story is just more evidence that it was badly misstructured.

I don't even get what Jesse dying accomplishes, particularly not him dying completely at random. Druckmann thought Ellie had to be traumatized into seeing revenge as le bad but he didn't actually make that arc work in the game so he should let Mazin handle it.

it's literally bothsidesing the Israeli Palestinian conflict lol
the ending is a literally the "Jewish" woman and a "Muslim" trans girl fuck off to "America" on a boat.

Looking forward to the next season being an Abby fest. Perhaps only an episode and a half of the potato in season three. Abby will have a loveable dog.

there's nothing controversial about this week's episode, the original parts were well-received, its mostly a direct copy of the game and provides nothing to argue about.

Then what is Jackson, aka the only place that flourishes.

Did you enjoy Joey Pants as Eugene?

If Jessie is offed, the seething at R/asianmasculinity will be superb.

season 3 won't be until 2027

will focus mostly on Abby

we won't see Ellie again until season 4 in 2030

How to kill your show 101

well in the game Ellie and Dina are living on some random farm which is for some reason safe from cordyceps. it seems to have been Mazin's idea to make Jackson an idealized mini-America.

Is it a cure or a vaccine? Do the people who wrote this slop even know the difference?

Communist China. Grim.

No one's watching this shit with that dopey looking lead actress. After Joel died the series is effectively over. Bella Ramsey can't carry the show.

apparently the 7 episodes of season 2 took 150 days to shoot. personally I think the quality is worth it but its not an easy or straightforward show to produce.

Hey guys come in this room with me you'll be safe, I promise.

Why was Joel so confident they could make a cure?

Are you guys actually retarded with no media literacy?
The last person he cared about left literally died telling him how important the possibility of a cure is, and they had a heartfelt argument where she basically told him to do this one thing for her.
Joels argument with Tess is basically one of the few actually well written truly human moments of the game.
Joel believes in the cure, because he took on Tess' hope. He risked his entire life and had a loved one sacrifice her life just so that he could fulfill that wish. The common "dilemma" of whether Joel did the right thing is irrelevant, the fireflies obviously couldnt make a cure. And while i generally dont like the writing of the first game, all of the context I just mentioned, combined with the final moments of the game where Joel is pathetically and humanly telling ellie that shed have been good friends with his daughter. Makes the decision to save her all that more significant.

I dont actually believe they intended the aspect im looking at though, since nobody talks enough about the argument with tess, so the game gets no credit from me, plus it ruins any respect for its writing with the winter arc. Its just something to note.

in the show (which for me is now the canon version because its gotten the most rewrites), the stated reason for Ellie's immunity is that her brain has cordyceps symbiotically growing in it, which releases a hormone that makes new cordyceps think she is already infected.

that has nothing to do with how a vaccine works, so it has to be something else. but I get the impression that Druckmann didn't really think about it because he is in love with himself. again, maybe Mazin is going to do better.

the idea that the Fireflies had some extra abilty to make a cure that the entire world's governments hadn't found is dumb. but so is the idea that they were fully delusional idiots.
it's meant to remain ambiguous, unless Mazin chooses to give us more specifics in season 3 when the doctor is a flashback character.

Good thing is that Abbys arc is way more engaging.

personally I think the quality is worth it

Well then personally I think you're a retard

Ellie is the outlier, you dumb retard! The government never had someone immune, so they couldnt develop a cure. How is that so hard to understand?

it's meant to remain ambiguous, unless Mazin chooses to give us more specifics in season 3 when the doctor is a flashback character.

It doesnt matter what its "meant" to be, that's not how reality works. If everything was just an arbitrarily determined feeling or impression of what is "meant" to be, then there would be allowed an numerous amount of conflicting "meant to be's" some based on ignorance, some on delusion, and plenty on hope.
what theyre doing is literally not possible. its just bad writing. not that its actually relevant to the shitty simplistic decision joel has to make. the actual final hospital encounter is a more tense and difficult series of decisions than anything the writing proposes.

0:13 drives me crazy

theres a 4th season? the fuck

Saves ellie from getting cut up and killed from a schizo terrorist group

gets shit for following procedure and killing someone that got infected

somehow hes a bad guy

Why did they have such a hate boner for this guy?

eugene.jpg - 739x415, 30.5K

hurr they would never make it

chud mass psychosis. It's obvious both in the show and the game that they would. Stop coping. I's been 5 years, this is insane

it's meant to remain ambiguous

no, it's not. They would make it. It's fully clear

“I think there’s a decent chance that Season 3 will be longer than Season 2”, says Craig Mazin.

“But certainly, there’s no way to complete this narrative in a third season. Hopefully, we’ll earn our keep enough to come back and finish it in a fourth.”

it makes no goddamn sense desu. You can easily do abby's 3 days +farm + santa barbara in S3

because he's a straight white man and the woke mob hates that

OH NONONONONO JESSIE NOOOOOO

Why do so many chuds have media illiteracy?

cure.jpg - 1440x2652, 478.7K

What did they mean by this

Was it kino?

kinda yes but at the same time they would absolutely make it

i think it was the only moment that was better than in the game

Jessie is based

Can't show homo relationships being problematic, now can we? We need to patronize the minorities because we don't think they can handle being portrayed like actual human beings. Had to dedicate the longest episode of the series besides the pilot to the heckin wholesome gay boys even though the game version of their story ends with one growing to hate the other for keeping him trapped and isolated for so long that he kills himself. God forbid we actually give a gay character any depth.

And overall he was a pretty good dad too, no matter how hard they try to make you hate him.

how hard they try to make you hate him.

why are you so goddamn stupid? Jesus fucking christ

While i completely understand the decision of putting the porch scene here (it would have been really unviable trying to put it at the end of everything like the game did, which by then we would be at what, 2029 at best?) i feel that the emotional impact and the meaning of it gets considerable diminished by having it this early

frank in the game killed himself because he got bitten
